It has come to my attention that this game has no new game plus 😢 No new game plus = no replay value 😭 I do often feel this way after grinding through several PTs for the same skills and loot. Maybe they’ll add it as do many devs have done in recent times. I have a question for anyone who has played it: Is there an alternate controller layout? There no way I’d be able to constantly melee via triggers/bumpers, given my hypermobile joints. I know the PS4 itself allows for remapping, but it’s global (which would be annoying).

Got the platinum trophy. #91. excellent I completed 100%. The only thing I could do is replay the trials. I give the game a 9/10. Reason is because I found the boy to be annoying at times during combat. A couple of times I muted the tv when I was fighting several enemies. The other reason is that a few collectibles were very tough to find. I mean there's this one item the player collects that is hard to see at times since the item blends in well with the scenery. The other is chests. It was frustrating at times trying to located the symbols to hit to get the chest open. The graphics were excellent. The combat was great. The story wasn't bad. The characters were fine. The game was seamless. From start to finish, there is no load screen. The cutscenes are made into the gameplay. The only time you get a load screen is if you die or loading a save. A suggestion to those who want to play the game for the first time. I would do the main story up to meeting Mimir. and going to Helheim. The reason is because he and the boy have a lot of stuff to say especially about the lore and why things are the way they are. As a nother suggestion, I would stop what you're doing to hear what they have to say. A lot of it is very interesting. You can do side quests if you like, but you would have to backtrack to those locations again, if you wanted to collect all the collectibles since some you won't be able to get until the game gives you something to get those items. I'm sure they're working on a sequel. Hopefully it will be released tomorrow. Lastly, I would not be surprised if they remaster the old God of War games to play on the ps4, minus #3, since its already been remastered for the ps4.

You can change the controls to classic. Which means Square for light attacks and Triangle for Heavy. Just look in the controls option settings.

Ha, if you think that's wait till you reach god of war 3. Looking forward to it... Kratos walks into a bar. The barman says 'those are some godly muscles you have there...' Kratos cuts the barman's head off.No, Kratos may be earnest and vengeful, but don't come looking for jokes...

Done with the main story of the game. Not too often a game so completely live up to its hype but this game certainly did. Will be some farming of trophies in the future, gameplay itself is more than enough to sustain that without it feeling like a chore. Seems I just cant get enough of hitting people AND setting them on fire

Catching up nicely, heading towards the end of God of War II. But this game is not letting me go without a fight... and FFS, what is the love affair with spikes in these games?

The second room was easy thanks to the time relic (that was terribly underused in the game if you ask me). The worst trap for me was that moving rock right before the medusa queen *shudders*

Kratos, you're strong enough to fist fight a titan, so why in the flying fuck you're struggling so much with a gate?!

I started another playthrough of God of War. Doing a few things differently. One is leaving the side quests for later in the game and to use the shield a lot more than before.

Your feedback has echoed an early, prerelease video I watched. The pointers will go a long way toward shaping my first playthrough if I ever buy this game. Thanks for the good, spoiler-free opinions and advice.

God of War III"Hello, boys..."Perhaps I'm easily swayed by 'shiny', but I do enjoy the sharp looks and honed mechanics of God of War III. It also has the somewhat deeper story that God of War: Ascension (which was just as pretty) lacked. I'm trying very hard to not get sidetracked and to enjoy this properly before God of War (2018).

A God of War nerdgasm inbound: So pleased I played the other 6 games before heading into God of War (2018) and thanks for the play suggestions about that. If I had to rank the games, I'd go: - God of War III - looks terrific, interesting locations/puzzles, strong plot.
- God of War II - good follow up to the first game with some of the puzzle pain toned down.
- God of War: Ascension - looks great and fun to play, if with a weaker story.
- God of War (2005) - great story and locations, but for me, the puzzles were a little too infuriating at times.
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta - solid game and touching plot, just not up there with the lead titles.
- God of War: Chains of Olympus - entertaining but weaker and shorter than the other series entries.
So, after some 80 hours, I feel I know Kratos, there's even evidence of his most recent scar in the new game. As for God of War (2018) I can't talk about the plot, but this game is gorgeous. I'm particularly enjoying the immersive HUD - I have everything except Gameplay Notifications on 'touch' setting, so most of the time the screen is totally clear. It's wonderful.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no loading screen, right? I feel the game is one smooth continuous stretch when I was watching gameplay.

The only time the player experiences a loading screen is when Kratos is killed or the player loads a save to continue playing.
