Nope, I was too busy having fun seeing my favorite part of book 2 on screen. He was One of the crew members of the Earth ship studying the crater Eros left on Venus. He had like one line, and his character was never named. But he was there

Just watched the S2Ep13- holy shit it is a great show. I think I skipped Ep12 and need to go back cause what is Avasarala doing with Bobbi. I know Bobbi went to see her when she got to earth, but know they are working together? . Still can't get into the Bobbi character and still think she is miscast. Still not sure if Avasarala can be trusted or is good. I'm with the crew. Amos better not get dead anytime soon. Actually at the end of episode 11: Bobbie requested political asylum on Earth when she learned the hybrid was a weapons test and she and her fellow soldiers were unwitting guinea pigs. She then spilled everything to Avasalara, including information she beat out of Captain Martens before escaping the embassy re: Bobbie being miscast: In the books she is two meters tall, a hundred kilos of solid muscle and a twelve year marine veteran. I think it would be kinda hard to "properly" cast her I think all things considered, they did a better job with her than they did with the Roci crew.

Anyone else catch Adam Savage's cameo in the last episode? Caught it, didn't think it was him though. Just someone that looks like him. Had to check IMDB, turns out yes. It's him. >.< *** I haven't read the books; makes watching the show quite enjoyable. No clue what's going to happen. I still find it entertaining more than engrossing though. I do have to say that episode 5 of season 2 was the first time I was on the edge of my seat (figuratively) throughout the entire episode. I hope the series can get more than one episode off with that kind of pacing and emotion next season. *** Bobbi's Character, well, I'm on board with the naysayers. Even not having read the books I can see what she's trying to be, and how the actress just doesn't work. She's chubby instead of tough. I had problems taking her seriously as some sort of veteran soldier. I suspect her casting had more to do with in-house and behind-the-scenes considerations than her on-screen appearance/acting method. It's like she's trying to act butch but is secretly holding a tiny pink cupcake behind her hands with two fingers crossed. It's even more noticeable when compared to some of the casting that I think is fantastic in the show. Avasurala and Miller are amazing. Naomi seems to portray her role quite well. Not sure how it stands up to her character in the books but for what she's doing on-screen, I like it. (Even if I don't like the character that much.)I like Canadian Shawn Doyle's Sadavir quite a bit. Particularly in the last season where gets to show some depth. (Finally...) The pilot, his character was tasteless and bland for the first bit, but he's starting to fit into the role and get some lines/scenes to flesh him out well. Amos, not sure about him. His looks don't quite match what I think the character's manner is from his lines. I rather like his character from what those lines are though, still up in the air about him. I like Terry Chen in most of what he does. In Continuum he didn't have much to work with but did it well. I loved his small role in House of Cards too. Plant guy seems an interesting choice. I just get the feeling (no I don't want a book answer to this) that his days are numbered. From a technical writing standpoint he looks like a character that's marked for death sometime next season. Could very well be wrong, just a hunch.

Could very well be wrong, just a hunch. Avasarala and Miller are probably the two best cast characters on the show (based on the books) Chrisjen is supposed to be even more foul-mouthed than she is, but I don't think the networks would allow that Naomi does well too, though she is also supposed to be a lot older (the entire Roci crew was in their 40s-50s in the books. Basically a crew of burned-out losers who already screwed up their lives when the Canterbury incident happened) Also, it would be hard to cast someone hwo looks like a genuine Belter. Probably why they seem to be distinguished from Earthers and Martians by having the sides of their heads shaved. Errinwright, appearances aside, is largely the same. Amos: Is supposed to be in his late-40s, stocky, pale, baby-faced with receding hair, and an amiable personality. He's always calm and cheerful around people, and will just as calmly and cheerfully shoot them in the head or break their kneecaps if that's what needs doing to protect "his tribe" (the Roci crew). I won't spoil what happens to Prax going forward (at least in the book) but ... His mission to find and either save or avenge Mei will be the driving force for the Rociante for the remainder of this arc.

So the Roci crew is different than the books? What's Amos like. Amos: part of it deals with the entire Rocinante crew: They are all a lot older than the series has them. All of them are supposed to be middle aged, had their shots at careers, screwed up their lives, and ended up living anonymous lives on the Canterbury.
Amos specifically is supposed to be in his late 40s or so, pale, stocky, with a receding hairline. He has a cheerful appearance, smiles a lot, and is generally a pretty amiable guy. Even when he's shooting or beating up people, he doesn't really get mad. He's just doing a job.
As hinted in the show, he's a high-functioning sociopath and doesn't really have a conscience. UNLIKE the show, however, is is absolutely devoted to the crew (his "tribe" as he calls them). He sees Holden as his conscience and will not hesitate to follow his lead, even if he thinks Holden is being an idiot. Because Holden knows right from wrong and always tries to do the right thing. Amos knows he isn't capable of making that distinction.
There is no way in hell he'd ever shoot Holden or strangle Alex (and not just because he's the pilot) They're his people, and anyone who'd do them harm would have to go through him first.
I'll leave out details that come to light in future books, as they might come up later in the show.

Bobby has been fleshed out really well. Her character is a lot more independant in her thinking now and she took her life in her own hands. She grew on me too.
The twists are great and even though there was not a big cliffhanger in last episode of the season, the storyline became more and more interesting as the show progressed.

So I finally got around to watching Caliban's War, the last chapter of the season.
As usual for this series my reaction: Holee sheet.
That ending. Damn. That science vessel near Venus... Damn.
I am also officially joining team Bobby... My feelings about her could be summed up as "meh" at the beginning, but I've warmed up to her ever since.
Any recommendations for something good to watch until the next season is coming?...
I recommend reading the books

I recommend reading the books I may break at some point... I'm really worried about it ruining my enjoyment of the show. Well, there's really nothing else quite like this on tv right now. Dark Matter may come closest, but I don't think that world is nearly as well thought out (and I think second season wasn't nearly as good as the first) Otherwise, there's older shows: BSG, Firefly, B5... A good science fiction show that's still on the air (and isn't a superhero show), I'd recommend Orphan Black

So I heard a lot of good stuff about this one like I did back then with GoT, so I had to check it out. Goddamn I'm glad I did, what a fantastic series, ever since the first episode I was like "holy fuck!" . Great special effects too, I love when they have a high budget for FX, I know it's expensive AF, but I'm glad they can put out all the scenery. The writing is great too and I love this futuristic Earth.
It's based in a series of books right? never heard of them, may as well read them one day if I can get them on my country.

So the new season doesn't start until March, but the new book Persepolis Rising is out and I'm reading it. Man, I don't know how they're going to adapt some of this stuff to tv! On the plus side, at this rate, they should n't have George R R Martin's problem of the tv series overtaking the books

I love the Expanse . I’ve watched all 2 seasons, and I just downloaded the first two books, Leviathan Wakes and Caliban's War. So far I love going over all the details the books add to the story universe. Now I’m just impatiently waiting for the third season to start.

Really good show. I burned all 2 seasons past year, it was one of the 12 (I believe) series and/or seasons I watched past year. Man, I watched a fuckton of shows last year, and now I've got nothing.

The main guy reminds too much of Paul Walker. It bothers me. Other than that, like the series. Read some of the books, not all. Got bored with them around the time of the lesbian minister. The story just hit a wall, and I did not feel like reading 300 pages to get through it.
But I have enjoyed the series so far.
