I figured it out. Land on the next planet you're supposed to in the main quest, and then immediately leave. It'll trigger a cutscene on the Tempest, and after that, some more stuff will pop up. Wait, do you mean that the email doesn't arrive after going to Voeld or Havarl? I have to go to the planet after them? Could anyone else confirm seeing as how no guide is helpful since they all say completely different things about when you are supposed to get this email. Well, you're supposed to finish one of those I believe, so you can actually get the next mission. I don't see why they didn't just have the e-mail come in right after Voeld (A Trail of Hope). And speaking of Havarl, I need to go there. I landed there and didn't really do anything yet.

I had to complete A Trail of Hope on Voeld, then go to Kadara (should've mentioned it earlier), then immediately turned back around, and then got the e-mail. You don't have to immediately turn around, but I did, because I wanted to put priority missions on hold for now. I'm not sure what happens if you go to Havarl first. Everything is so confusing right now because internet guides are all over the place. One says to do this, another says to do that, another says to do the same thing, and another says to do something else.

Strange considering I think I've seen playthroughs where people got the email and did her loyalty mission before getting to Kadara. Could someone else share some light on when the got the email?

How do you start her romance after her loyalty mission? I finished it earlier but nothing. Do I have to do another story mission? I also don't want to move on just yet.
Everywhere that I go says that the "Duty calls" email should unlock after completing her loyalty mission. I even went and did a few side missions. I can't be locked out of the romance, right? The scene that follows her loyalty mission seemed like it confirmed I was locked in

By all logic Aza Ryder shouldnt even like her.....She's arrogant and self centred. Obsessed with her own pain and feeling rejected.
But he really can't help hanging out with her and her plants. She's so nice in her off time and chilled out and down to earth and lets face it, anyone who makes him want to hang out with plants must be pretty damned exciting.
Aza Ryder will need to keep his distance.
If he can.

Is it just me or is Cora's backstory of biotic prejudice out of left field? Haven't played the other ME games in a while but I don't remember biotics being treated like the X-Men.

If you read up on the lore, you hear how human biotics sometimes suffer prejudice. Figured as much. Still, if your going to make a future companion whose drama is some kind of prejudice you they probably should of made that front and center in the previous games. Dragon Age made sure to establish that elves and mages were oppressed early on instead of hiding it in the lore so the drama is more powerful. Show don't tell and all that.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 did establish oppression on biotics in Human society. In Mass Effect 1 you had Kaidan Alenko who was shipped off to Biotic Acclimation and Temperance Training (BAaT) which was torturous for many of the students. Later on, Grisson Academy arose as the more humane replacement. There was also the UNC:Hostage side mission in Mass Effect 1 where the biotics held a politician hostage in order to demand reparations for L2 implants. In Mass Effect 2, we had Jack / Subject Zero who is a byproduct of obsession with biotic potential - Her life was an oppressed one, it was done by Cerberus instead of Alliance.

I thought she was a nod to Calhoun from Wreck It Ralph. Well, humans are new at Biotics. Kaiden got sent off to military school, she got sent to the Asari, and Jack got sent to Hell.

I am so tired of them never having bi human female squadmates or companions, Ashley, Miranda, Jack, Cassandra and now Cora. They had it right with Isabella, Leliana and Silk Fox, but not since 2011 has their been a bi human female squadmate/companion. I will probably never get a reply, but I am going to keep trying to get a reply from them. They need to change it for once, it's not just aliens elfs and secondary characters that can be bi, bioware. Other then that I like Cora and will play a scott playthrough to see her romance, right now I just finished Eos on default Sara. And my custom character just left the Nexus.

What chance does she have of being bisexual at all if she is not into Asari ?

Just wanted to say that I liked her loyalty mission. It has one of my favorite moments in the game. When if you out Sarissa the captain asks who is next in line for Pathfinder, and Vederia tentatively raises her hand after looking around with a nervous look on her face. Vederia became among my favorite minor NPCs in the game at that moment, plus I love the rest of her content like Cora helping her out in learning the ropes.

What chance does she have of being bisexual at all if she is not into Asari ? Well, that's the Watsonian (in-universe) view on a Doylist (out of universe) issue. I do think it's a good idea the Asari obsessed human isn't interested in them sexually as it kind of keeps it a focus on their philosophy and skill versus the more sexual elements. Albeit, it would have been interesting to have her be bisexual and just not into Asari.
