I had a dream last night where I was driving in my mom's old Pontiac Grand Prix (from the passenger seat, with a license which I don't currently have a driver's license) with my mom, and then I found myself in a hospital. My mom came to visit me and said I was in a motor vehicle accident and that I had killed some people. I don't remember hitting anyone. She said I was charged with a crime. I don't remember having a trial or even being arrested. I didn't even have any wounds on my body, she didn't either. The place I was in looked more like a hospital, than a jail. I saw some familiar faces in the hospital unit. I was transferred out of the unit somewhere else, then I woke up.

Me and this guy - who we can call 'Rob' -, who's been dead for many years, were traveling somewhere. We had some other company as well, at least one woman and another guy. But they were never well defined in the dream and seemed to vary, like they changed for different days.
A major circumstance was this "domesticated" brown bear that Rob took along. Again and again, at motels, diners etc, the bear would occasionally get difficult and aggressive, and Rob had to wrestle him and hit him on the snout until he got pacified again. At times he was very difficult, biting several people and I wanted to hit the bear in the head with something heavy, but Rob begged me not to. And frankly, it was only temporary anger from me, as I empathized with the bear and didn't really want to hurt the animal.
In the beginning, we seemed to travel in some high and large 1930's limousine, like a Packard or something, but then we were suddenly riding motorbikes. The bear was occasionally like pulling Rob's bike, like a horse, but at other times the bear was lying on the bike and Rob riding on top of the bear. The reality was very fluid in this dream.
After maybe four days, we finally arrived at our destination, which was something that looked like a western movie saloon. Inside, Rob met with some judge and bureaucrats, and had his name changed. Afterwards he went outside and spread his arms like a Jesus statue and declared loudly to an assembled audience that: "I am Rob Death <Surname>" . And I was thinking: But that is his old name?! It's the same as before. Except for the 'Death' middle name. Well, he is dead, but wouldn't Rob Dead <Surname> fit better in that case? "Death" seems rather melodramatic and narcissistic. And with some spite I was thinking that he was obviously not "Death".
I never considered my knowledge of him being dead, and him standing there beside me, as anything remarkable or strange. Everything is completely normal, including the bear.
I woke up.

DREAMS
Feb 2, 2020 0:09:25 GMT
Post by B. Hieronymus Da on Feb 2, 2020 0:09:25 GMT
I had this dream where the memorized content was about elevators. F. and I had apparently moved to a new apartment – or were we visiting somebody? It's not clear – and there was this elevator that kept being rebuilt between every time I used it.
And it got smaller. They were like installing extra and new equipment in the elevator. On the inside. And then putting in new walls to cover the stuff. So the elevator got smaller.
...And smaller. And they changed the control panel and buttons. The weird thing was that after each rebuild, the new panel always seemed secondhand and older and more worn and crappy than the previous.
And the buttons didn't fit with the floors. There were several floors missing and like three buttons all giving you just floor 5. ...If they worked at all.
In the end – before I woke up – the elevator had become so small I had to squeeze in. It just accommodated one single person. And I had to try to operate the panel on the side, under my armpit. Now it was a touch screen, featuring only a few floors. Didn't matter, because it didn't work at all.
Then another longer and more involved dream, but I think the theme is maybe somewhat related:
I was returning to a University for some reason. I and a colleague were promised apartments in a connected campus of some sort. We had previously visited and looked over the apartments and agreed that they were fine and had committed to them.
However, some month later, when we arrived with our transports and stuff, the apartments were still occupied. Re-occupied by new tenants.
“What the hell is this?” we wondered. “We were promised these apartments.” Well, staff arrived and explained that some mistake had been done but now they couldn't evict the current residents.
“Well, go to hell then”, I said. “I'll send you a bill for my time, expenses, and trouble”.
“No, please, wait a moment”. A senior administrator was allegedly on her way to solve the problem.
A lady in a dove gray suit did arrive and suggested that they could accommodate us inside one of the main University buildings instead. Apparently, they had some apartments high up for guests and stuff.
Here, my friend disappears from the action. Supposedly he was shown a place somewhere and moved in.
The place I was offered was okay, I reluctantly decided after a while. The one room was very big, featured a big bed, work desks, tables and TV couches. And and it had a balcony. There was also a separate kitchen, and a nice bathroom. There was actually one more room, a small one, the first you entered, but that was not of much use.
But okay, I agreed to the lady in the dove suit, shook hands and that was that. ...I thought.
I moved in, filled the book cases and installed myself and my stuff. I got my name on the door. It felt kinda weird to walk right out into an University administration, but kinda cool too.
I spent the night, then went out for breakfast and errands the next day.
When I returned in the afternoon, the door to my allocated apartment was open and a group of of gentlemen were rummaging about.
One of them was laughing at someone else: “This is not your room. Look at the books, ha ha. Those are somebody's personal. The PC too.” “But I always stay here. I even have my own key.”
So I push my way in and explain to them that I am the guy staying there now. But the guy who's intent to have the place won't budge. We await the arrival of some professors and administrators who allegedly will have me removed.
Some more people arrive. Some are obviously old friends with the men and apologize to them and promise that this will soon be fixed. They rely on the lady in the gray suit who is the only one apologizing or talking to me.
Her suggestion is that I don't need to move out. I can leave all my things as they are, they won't be touched, but I have to let this professor have the use of the apartment for two days, then he would be gone and I could come back again.
I was controlling my frustration and anger, but also very determined to be difficult. “So the obvious question is, where do you suppose I am going to stay then? For two days?” I say, as I'm thinking about expensive luxury hotels with all expenses paid.
This is where I wake up. I really wonder why I'm dreaming these things, as there is nothing remotely like it going on in my life now. Also, I note that I'm having a spell of more continuous and 'rational' dreams again, after some time of very chaotic and fractured dreams lately.

i don't really have a lot in the way of dreams in recent memory. It's always that thing when I haven't got enough sleep and I'm sitting and nod off for a second. I have a brief flash of something or other, be it audio, visual or both. It's actually a thing. It's ometimes called microdreams. There's a scienc-y name for it that I can't remember or find on a search engine right now. It last for a few seconds and then I snap out of it suddenly.

I had another mass effect dream again....I haven't had those in awhile. Well I was a Cerberus Phantom introducing Default Shepard to the SR-2 Normandy. Miranda apparently didn't like me much and didn't like Cerberus Phantoms in general.(her tone of voice that she finds all of them to be creepy) Well Then Jack with her ME3 Haircut decided to pick a fight with Miranda while teasing her about being creep out by Cerberus Phantoms. Of course Mordin facepalmed and telling both of them to get back to work and Somehow T.I.M. was working the Checklist in the Engineering Section on the Normandy.

I had a dream about gum. I was chewing on a piece of gum and I went to dispose of it by placing it in the garbage, but it just kept filling my mouth up. Wouldn't go away, even though I didn't put any new pieces in my mouth after putting the first piece in the garbage.

I had a dream about playing a mass effect campaign with co-op. We were returning to an ice planet, completionist run. There were cages with four prisoners. Three of which had been released. The switches to open the cages were hidden and we didn't know where the last one was. The second cage was shut, and we were bitching at each other trying to find the switch until everyone ragequit and I was left.

I had a wild dream tonite where my backyard was flooded and this shark kept jumping out of the water to try to get me. I ended up standing on one of the chairs and proceeded to dump some .38spc +p out of my snub nose to kill it. Good thing i was actually able to fire it, as in some previous dreams i would pull the trigger on a gun and it would either not fire or it would jam.

as in some previous dreams i would pull the trigger on a gun and it would either not fire or it would jam. Oh yeah I know that, I had dreams where my guns failed me in the worst possible situations, or I could not aim. That's total panic material. As for my dream, today I took a nap and I dreamed about horrible motorbike accidents. Like really graphic stuff, even for my standards as a hardcore shooter gamer. I mean bikes driving over peoples heads and mushing them like watermelons, but they kept on driving despite their crushed heads and their bloody spines and destroyed eyes hanging out of their skulls, people getting ripped in half and their intestines sliding across the concrete, and distorted crushed faces staring at me. Really sick shit, and it came out of nowhere. I don't watch motorcycle sports nor am I a gore fanatic.-

Those kinds of dreams are similar to the ones where one is driving and the brakes either don't work or only slow down the car. Another similar one is punching someone and the punch having zero force behind it or missing altogether.

Another similar one is punching someone and the punch having zero force behind it or missing altogether. Funnily enough I never had THAT happen, in my dreams my punches were always devastating. Maybe its because I have utmost trust in my physical abilities since I lift a lot, and never have a bad training day. I do have bad days on the shooting range though, where nothing seems to work right, including myself.

Those kinds of dreams are similar to the ones where one is driving and the brakes either don't work or only slow down the car. Another similar one is punching someone and the punch having zero force behind it or missing altogether. Yeah, these are supposedly archetypal themes for dreams. I don't know how they manifested themselves before humans had firearms, but there were probably something corresponding. Other 'healthy', 'normal' themes are all your teeth crumbling or falling out, falling, flying, doing toilet stuff publicly in the middle of a crowd... I still fly occasionally (at very low altitude), and fall, but otherwise I've lost most of these dream themes over the years. My non-firing gun dreams stopped when I was rather young. I don't know how, but I'm pretty sure it was well before I did my first stint in the military. But the way it would play out was that the hammer or striker would never be released, either double action or single action, no matter how hard I pulled on the trigger. On punches, otoh, I very well remember exactly when the weak, ineffective punch -dreams stopped. I had this dream where I myself was some kind of supernatural creature, fighting other supernatural creatures, who were so sure of my inferiority and weakness that they almost convinced me. But as I - from some kind of memory transferred from other, previous dreams - realized that my punches would be ineffective, I also reasoned that the harder I tried to hit, the weaker the punch would be. So, inside the dream I came up with the idea to do the opposite, touch my enemies as lightly as possible. And it worked. My lightest touch was as devastating as a wrecking ball. I walked through my enemies and faced and defeated the evil boss figure. And I never had a dream of weak punches again.

Something funny happened. A dream broke down. This happens to me very rarely. Normally, I accept everything as completely normal, no matter how screwed up and crazy things are. Not this time though.
I must have been painting with watercolors. For some reason I wanted to wash my palette clean. So I took it over to the TV (apparently that's where the water is). Only, the palette's power cable was too short. So I looked at it and thought: It's alright, I can unplug it. It can run on batteries for awhile. So I unplugged the lead in, but suddenly froze, looking at the plastic palette. - WTF does it need power for!? There is nothing. It's just a piece of plastic! Then I looked at the TV. - WhyTF do I expect to get water flowing from the TV and where's the drain!? The carpet would get wet. And there I stopped believing in it and woke up. I don't think I ever had the thought: "This must be a dream". It was more like, I woke up and: Yeah, it's a dream.

Last time I dreamt that Beet got banned from here, but i can't remember why. For being too awesome. Today I had one of those dreams again, I was fending off hordes of bloodthirsty attackers with my AK, then the trigger started to act up, it got so hard to pull that I missed shots and the trigger reset was borked. I had to manually push the trigger forcefully forward after every shot as if the trigger return spring broke. That was one stressful dream.

DREAMS
Apr 9, 2020 23:02:59 GMT
Post by B. Hieronymus Da on Apr 9, 2020 23:02:59 GMT
I'm in some kind of Gulag. There is snow and cold. There are brick walls and fences. I'm the Shepard of a group of people, including women and children, trying to keep them safe and well. We're out, close by the entrance. Something is supposed to happen soon with us. Maybe we'll get food. I don't understand, but lines of prisoners form up. The guards by the entrance are organizing something.
I suddenly see a small man in a big worn white coat, with a grey face. He's alone and seems to avoid everybody, and avoid being seen, hiding his face in his coat. But I have recognized him someway. It's a feeling that I know it's him. He's in great danger. He won't make it. No one must recognize him. I must protect him against my people too, hide and protect him from both sides. And he must get out of here.
Somehow, I get the rather unreasonable idea (seemed fine in the dream) that it's possible to get out through the passages of the entrance, when a contingent of new prisoners arrive, and the guards are kept busy.
I leave my flock by a wall, telling them to stay put, and contact the man. Up close, he's worn, old and tired, grey stubble. And he's cold. But it's him alright. I tell him my naive, confused plan. He nods breathlessly. Too tired and too out of hope, he grasps for the straw. Or maybe he doesn't much care any longer.
The new prisoners come. Part of the fences they are channeled through, are not real fences but just movable wire screens. As my big diversion, I rush them and tear them noisily away. I disappear in the confusion of new prisoners suddenly spreading out. The man hurriedly walks through in the opposite direction and then starts running. I pull back to other wall. Most guards are running around trying to herd the new prisoners. But two of them sets after the man.
The fleeing man is running by the left brick wall. I am following the right wall. The Gulag's perimeter fence is fixed to the wall, but I think it can be pulled loose enough to squeeze by. In fact, I have reconnoitered that before. Now I tear it loose and press my body through. I set after the guards, the zealot activists.
The second zealot senses me and moves to intercept me. - Good, I think. But I have to finish him fast. Despite the snow and my heavy clothes, I leap up as I meet him and violently kicks him in the head. I continue. The guard is down.
The first zealot activist is leap-running on all four like the animal he is. Like a ferret. He jumps the man, felling him into the snow, and bites him, sinking his 5 inch fangs into his thigh. I launch myself into a tackle, hitting the guard. I wrestle him, pulling him away from the man. The activists sinks his fangs into my side. The pain burns deeply. I break his back and most of the fight goes out of the guard. But he still bites deep into me. With my last strength I snap his neck, feeling it break. And then I can untangle myself from his jaws, pulling out the long sharp fangs. There is blood. It hurts. I don't know how badly I'm hurt, but somehow that question is irrelevant. Here is no cure or help anyway. It will heal or I'll die.
The man is also wounded. I help him up, brush off the snow, and arrange his clothes, closes his big coat to keep him warm, like you would help a child. We stand there, bleeding in the snow, exhausted, breathing heavy.
"- I must go back", I tell him. "I cannot help you more. The way is open. Run now. Go through the forest." He nods tiredly, and though he seems beaten he trots off.
I return through the squeeze by wall, intending to lead all of my flock out the same way. Hopefully today, now at once, quickly before other guards pay attention. But if no one discovers that the fence is loose from the wall, I figure, we might do it later, at a quieter time, when my wound has healed a bit.
I wake up.

only dream I remember is from one a little while back
I was going with my Dalish Inquisitor to some meeting with Chantry people and other Dalish, Cassandra, Solas and some other companions were also there so everything goes well and all...until the Inquisitor gets mad at the Chantry representative
don't really remember the words, but I believe it had something to do with the role elves had in history that the Chantry conveniently "forgot" along with some other things and then things spiraled out of control, my Inquisitor summons a freaking Vartherall...and several demons (she's not even a necromancer) that start butchering the Chantry peeps then Solas goes all "get the Inquisitor out of here, something's wrong!"
...turns out there's a rift nearby with a very powerful demon (on par level with our buddy Nightmare) which influences my Quizzy's behavior so then it goes into gameplay mode (don't ask, it was really weird) with me and Solas working together to get the Inquisitor to safety whilst battling toward the rift
the dream ended with Solas closing the rift (don't ask how he did that without the mark...let's call it Solas magic) but somehow he doesn't close it entirely so demons keep trickling out...and that's when I woke up

I had this dream about being in this weird college.
I don't know what I was there for, or what study. But it didn't seem like anyone else either.
When I first entered, I was contacted by this small group of Christian girls to join their group. I said I would do it, but didn't follow through. I mostly just minded my own business, exploring this large dormitory with really wide hallways. The layout was this huge rectangle, with branches off in every direction. Each branch would have carpet and a bunch of living areas, and some sort of public area.
And then I was pulled aside. I went down to one of the basement rooms, and there was this group of guys, one of which was a former acquaintance of mine, selling these oversized toys. Not HUGE, but big. They were a bunch of blonde guys with fake tans, and some of them were wearing baseball caps. And they were trying to sell me this train set. The train engine was about as big as your typical at-home printer, and had a USB linkup for reasons I don't quite understand. The toys looked very simplistic though, being large pieces of plastic and each traincar was the same color except the wheels. It didn't run on a track.
While this was neat, I wasn't particularly interested;. Then another guy came over to me. He was one of my freshmen/sophomore roommates from my where I got my bachelor's. I asked him a bit about how he's been and what he's been up to. I tell him about my work experience, and he tells me to bail on it. He just liked selling toys, and had these enormous boxes of other huge toys other than the trains. I wasn't sold though. I told him I was happy to see him, but didn't buy anything.
I left the basement and went back upstairs. I bumped into the group of Christian girls, who insisted I go with them to one of the in-dorm bars. I went along, and sat down at the bar with them. Apparently, it was a school for people who had run themselves into a bit of a mess:everyone was in their mid-to-late 30's, everyone was broke. But no one seemed particularly upset about their situation (except for me). They were just happy to be there. The bar had these sizable holes in the countertop, and the girls started to see if they could stick their heads through the holes. They tried to get me to do so as well, but my head was too big. So, many of them sat there, with their heads poking through the countertop, talking about whatever and having drinks. They had to pour them for each other with their heads through the countertop.
And that's when the alarm went off.

Been having a recurrent dream lately where I end up waking up at work in just my undies and/or with my snub nose revolver. I previously had the "waking up in underwear" dream in a previous job too.
Not sure what's going on with my subconscious there.

DREAMS

There is this grey storm and a horseshoe shaped harbor. There is a boat crashed into the tip of the breaker. We're a four man team and a woman. Our mission is to salvage something from the boat. It's hard and dangerous to reach the boat. Waves are crashing over us now and then, almost washing us off. The wind is roaring and the rain whips our faces. But we retrieve whatever it was and make our arduous way back. I have to go halfway back and drag the woman to safety. But we all make it.
We sneak farther inland and climb a large, empty and abandoned industrial building of some kind. This is where we will hide and bivouac for the night. We climb to the roof. On the flat roof there are rows of railroad cars. We climb up onto the roof of one of the railroad cars as well. This is a good place we think. We're hard to find at the same time as we have good overview. We have sleeping bags and bivouac bags. We tie everything, our gear, weapons and ourselves together against the wind. And goes to sleep, exhausted.
Far away there is this tall building. It's not a tower, but it's tall. I know that my father (who died decades ago from cancer and never was a construction worker) is part of a team doing repair works at the top of that building. I also know the building is populated.
Suddenly I wake up from something. In the distance I see the tall building suddenly moving. And, shocked, I watch it slowly topple over, like a domino tile, and become crushed in a cloud of dust as it hits the ground. "But, but, my father was there! And all those people! This is horrible". I have such thoughts for awhile but there is nothing I can do.
I wake up again. Now I have this suspicion that the building falling is just some dream I've had. But it's pitch black night now, and I can't see the building, can't see if it's standing or not. I keep trying to see something. And I keep trying to understand if it was just a dream or if it was real.
Suddenly I wake up in bed at home, and realize that not only was the falling building a dream, but so was it all. But for a good while I have this enormous dislocated feeling. I have to remember who I am and where I am and when I am. For some time I have more a feeling of having been torn away from my life than being returned to it.

Pretty much all the weirder dreams I've had are frustrating in nature. Last night I was solving an extremely difficult sudoku in my dream and I got so grumpy that I woke up, and decided to solve a few sudokus irl until I fell asleep
