Repost from BSN, 28 April 2013. Game dreams are fun, but sometimes scary. I had one dream of Diablo 2. It started me playing the computer and gradually the room kinda dissolved and was replaced by the game environment. I played the bow wielding amazon, ran around and killed stuff. At some point I was overwhelmed by golden dancing zombies (like wtf?) and as I was dieing I tried frantically find the esc key, which I couldn't since the keyboard had vanished with the room. When I died I became one of the zombies and I remember just hearing the music and wanting to dance, dance, dance... Then I woke up.

My dreams often lack of sense lol. I dream about the alien movies a lot (Xenomorphs everywhere) hiding from them or, more fun, killing them with massive weapons (I told that already on the old BSN but best part was when Saren popped up from nowhere during one of those dreams and helped me to shoot them all ) At a period I had nightmares each nigh about my appartment. No windows... dust, spiders, mud everywhere. Something closed to silent hill I was living on a weird appartment and had to deal with many bad stuff IRL. The day I moved in a new home, my nightmares vanished. @ HawkeyeGod (Massively) I envy you. I rarely can control my dreams ~ Most of the time, my brain is on freewheel. That reminds me. I had a weird dream of being in an Alien Versus Predator video game for what amounted to at least five real life minutes. Remembered kicking ass with human weapons and picking up Predator weaponry to fight them. Really wish it lasted longer.

And I get mad at him "haven't you watched movies?! split up, really?! are you insane !? we'll die if we do that, okay ? so now take that shotgun, be brave and kill those bastards, you hear me !?" This is one of the night when I woke up laughing so hard in my bed. Predators, I' sometimes have them on my dreams too ~that's pretty cool XD

I frequently have this dream where I can't find my car. The settings are always different but the situation is always the same. Pretty weird.

I've had two instances of dreaming about games that I can remember. The first was the first time I played Halo CE. It lasted about a week and started out as nightmares about running out of ammo that morphed into awesome dreams about cruising around the coast in a warthog loaded with marines. The second was a one-off, and it was "PvP lag in real life." I dreamt I was playing paintball, and I was corner camping (which I never do in actual PvP, I'm a total Leeroy Jenkins). Some middle-aged guy came around the corner, I shot him, the paintballs just bounced off him without bursting, he shot me and the same thing happened...and we just both sat there looking at each other, then he shrugged and walked off. My most recent dream involved catching the large spider that's hiding somewhere in our apartment. I thought the dream was real. In truth, the spider is still on the loose.

I rarely remember my dreams, though for a couple months this year I was having a vivid recurring anxiety nightmare about finding I had a paper due that I didn't know about.
I was writing my thesis during those months, so that was probably why.

My recurring nightmare is that I didn't actually graduate from high school, and have to go back. Those dreams are horrible.

When I was younger I had this weird nightmare for a few times where I was trapped in some sort of horror movie type of old mansion, it was night and it was raining, and I was running away from some old dude who was staring at me from behind a window. It was awful because it felt like I couldn't wake up if I didn't find a way out that house One time when I did find a way out, and woke up - but it was middle of the night, so naturally I fell back asleep... and I was in that mansion again! And when I went to the same place as last time to get out, the door wasn't there anymore quite unfair imo.

I have an almost constantly recurring dream in various forms in which my body refuses to obey my commands properly. I've talked to my friends and it seems like a very common occurrence. For example, i'll dream i'm in a fight and i'll go to throw a punch and i'll throw the punch properly, but it'll have no force behind it and it'll feel as though i'm moving in a vat of syrup or something. It's incredibly disconcerting for someone like me who is relatively active and trained in a variety of martial arts. It might be related to sleep paralysis. Your brain locks up your muscles to prevent you from acting out experiences in your dreams physically, which can potentially cause harm to yourself. I have actually figured out a way to enact it, depending on what position I sleep in. Most people experience sleep paralysis at least once in their lifetime. It can actually be pretty terrifying, since you're essentially awake mentally in a body that is still asleep. The worst part about it though is that your brain is still in stand-by mode enough to cause you to experience sensations of pressure, terror, and the feeling of being watched by something just outside of your peripheral vision. I'm a long-term sufferer it, though when I changed my sleep position (I'm more of a side/fetal position sleeper by nature) to being on my stomach, it seems to solve the problem. The sensation for me seems to be triggered whenever I'm nodding off to sleep and am just about to enter REM sleep when I'm stimulated by something that reactivates my brain. When I was younger, I used to be afraid of being abducted by aliens, and I suspect that fear comes from the sensations of terror that you get (I always felt as though a malevolent presence was lingering just outside my point of view) and the total body immobility that tended to precede many abduction claimants stories. Now, while I still experience it from time to time, and still feel the sensations, I'm much more casual about it as I know the science behind the issue, and having simply grown used to the experience. All very interesting to me, as I can occasionally suffer from something comparable when I'm awake, but usually I need a fever or some form of trauma to trigger it. It's seemingly a hangover from an overdose of intravenous cortisone 30 years ago. It would seem my pituitary and pineal glands may have been fried, and I periodically have adrenaline crises when my body won't respond to my wishes. It was pretty terrifying when it first happened, and I've needed adrenaline injections a few times, but I'm kinda used to it now. It's really just like playing Geth sometimes. I apparently muttered "6b, always" one day on waking, which simply has to have been in relation to the Batarian Soldier's Ballistic Blades. Also, +1 for all you other lucid dreamers.

Lucid dreaming tip: often, when I become aware of the fact that I am dreaming, the dream itself will begin to slip away - become blurred, giving me the feeling of waking up, etc. I've heard this is quite common among oneironauts (lucid dreamers). One way to fix this, which I've found really works for myself, is spinning around inside the dream. It sort of... clears the dream of the blur - ironically so, of course, as it seems the exact opposite of how spinning around creates motion blur in real life.
It's also quite the effective way to start exerting control over your dream. Just think of someone or something you want appearing in front of you, spin around, and there they'll be: at least, in my case. Your experience may vary.
Lucid dreaming is incredibly fun though, so I recommend everyone tries it at least once. The possibilities are endless.

I couldnt do anything haha... I sneezed and grapes went everywhere... it sounds pretty funny typing it out but id totally classify it as a nightmare

I often dream I'm floating in a dark murky river with lots of roots and alga in it. Its actually really shallow water, I could stand in it but I'm paralyzed, I cannot move. Or I don't want to move, its unclear. I'm only a little under the surface but as I'm floating down the river the water gets darker and the roots thicker and I slowly drown. As I'm fighting to stay conscious I can see the sun through the maze of roots and alga and its....beautiful. I'm at peace with the world and myself and then everything becomes dark. Then I wake up.

I cannot recall every detail to my dreams. Especially once I wake up from it, but I suppose I could share one.
One specific dream I remember, I felt fed-up and somewhat angry. I was driving at night in a light rain shower. I drove past a lot of shops that were closed; however the street lights were on. I slowed down when I seen a really attractive woman standing outside. She was wearing a hood and all black clothing, and she appeard really sad. I cannot recall what happened next, but she ended up in my vehicle. She slept in the passenger seat, so I turned on the heater, and placed a blanket over her. I drove through the night with only the glow of the dashboard to light my dream. It was very dark dream. Again, I cannot recall what happened next, but it ended with me and her having sex in a bedroom. I was on top of her kissing her neck, when random objects in the bedroom began to float as though the gravity was turned off. The girl said. "...I am a... Jedi... This happens when I get really relaxed... Yeah." Then I woke up feeling as though I had been asleep for days.

I haven't had any really interesting dreams lately, but I'd say about 70% of the dreams I remember involve one or more of these subjects:
Bridges - tons of dreams where I'm a passenger in a car going over a bridge and the bridge doesn't have any guardrails, or the actual road part is missing and it's just a wire mesh, or the bridge turns at ninety degree angles and climbs upwards like a spiral staircase. Always a passenger. Constantly the car will fall or crash.
Cats - I've had cats my entire life, and my dreams about them are always morbid. Most of them involve birth and premature kittens and finding them drowning in sinks and toilets, which leads me to...
Bathrooms - like half of my dreams take place in weird dirty public bathrooms with no doors on the stalls, hallways of sinks and mirrors with weird twists and turns and I can never find my way out. On a lighter note, anytime I wake up because I have to pee really bad, I always wake up from a dream where I'm super tiny and I have to scale a giant toilet the size of a mountain.
Sexy stuff - this one is the worst because I definitely have these ones the most frequently about all kinds of bizarre people (fictional and real). The dream is always relatively normal, but as soon as actual... stuff is about to happen, it's interrupted by other people walking in and yelling at me about being a cheater (this happens even when I'm single). Every. Single. Time. So I have never *actually* had a sex dream.
Dream stuff is really interesting to me, so it's cool to see what trends show up in other people's heads. I also have that "punching/running through molasses" sensation pretty often, which I guess is more common than I thought.

Had a few weird Mass Effect dreams sporadically, and here are a few images I remember.
Citadel DLC: Layout of Shepard's apartment is completely different than what we're seeing in the final product. It's somehow a nightclub. Last thing I remember is Vega being a bouncer while Kaidan was puking on the floor. This was just last night's dream
Mass Effect 2: Some time before the actual game release (2009), I remembered still being in ownership of the Normandy SR-1, and one the missions involved disarming bombs while it was docked on Ilium. Woke up before I could finish the damn mission. I also had a weird dream where there is an actual game over screen for going to the Omega 4 relay while completely ill-prepared (i.e. No loyalty missions or ship upgrades earned) and it showed the entirety of the Normandy crew being turned into husks.
Mass Effect 3: I remembered seeing a few missions here and there where we could have ME2 characters in my squad. The most recent I can remember is doing some side mission with Samara and Zaeed (disclaimer, I rarely used them in real life).

I saw a dream lately: I started my journey to find my favorite girl for life on the streets. I think it took weeks or months. Then I realized one of my shoes is missing and I'm walking with bare foot. I looked back and I saw my sock is rotten and my shoe is ruined farther. Also my quest had failed.

I barely remember dreams, but yesterday I had one where I owned a horse. I just did mundane things, like cleaning it. Nothing dramatic, other than that I equipped a war saddle and kept slipping off. Then it suddenly became two horses and they both slept in my backyard.

I had a freaky dream last night that I had triplets in my home I grew up in. (I dream a lot about that house!) I had two girls and a boy. Anyway.....I gave one of my daughters to my sister..... and my dad started crying.....I don't know why I gave her a baby....she's fertile myrtle. ANYWAY.......we kept talking, and my wrists would get weak and I would drop my babies. I have weird dreams.

I guess there's some anxiety about being a good mom one day. I've also had the dream, mentioned above, where I have to repeat high school as I didn't really graduate. But, I finished college in the dream so...? For awhile I had recurring snake dreams where I would step out into a nest of writhing snakes, a giant snake would loom over me or I would fall into underbrush and was bitten by a snake.

I had a fairly weird dream... I was in this really beautiful city somewhere like in the future and everything was really colorful and it was always night time... I was on a rooftop looking over a railing and thinking of how beautiful it was then I heard a girl scream so I ran towards it and I entered like a construction zone... there was a blonde girl huddled in a corner so I ran to her to see what was wrong... and she pointed next to me and there was Darth Vader just stood there... and the emperor was close behind him... the emperor told him to kill us so we ran and he was following behind... there was a party and we kinda hid amongst the guests in this rooftop party but they still found us... so I called a hovercar/taxi thing and we got inside but Darth Vader used the force to hold the taxi back and then made us crash so we got out but we were kinda surrounded by Darth Vader and the Emperor but I got a lightsaber... then I kinda gained some level of consciousness... because I remember thinking "where did this lightsaber come from??? I never had it before..." um then apparently I thought too hard and pointed out logical inconsistencies in my dream and I woke up

A series of shitty dreams in one night. First I saw that I'm becoming a Bus driver, but the amount of instructions and delaying was a torture, then it turned into an old people ghost dream. I woke up to avoid its continuation. Then I with my father and cousin were in a touristic attraction site with other people they asked me to go next to right on the edge of the waterfall with 100 meters heights and 90 degrees slope. I was scared, said no and went the other side. I was being laughed at. At last I thought I'm releasing my sperms bombastically in my dream. I woke up and there was nothing thankfully.

I have a form of lucid dreaming. Maybe this weekend I'll expand on that. Three weeks later... In my defense it's not a story I share often and it's a bit in the telling. I don't like to skip. (And this is me skipping parts to stay concise.) *** When I was 6-9ish I had nightmares. Even hit me during the day. Terrifying is the only way to describe them. They lessened as I grew older but still fairly frequent up until around 13. *Backstory* I moved across the country (Canada) from west to east coast when I was 9. Went back and forth a couple times. One of the times we took a Greyhound bus. When I was around 14 I had a nightmare, hell night-terror. I was standing in an endless parking lot. Sky was black, streetlights every so often. And in the distance a monstrous greyhound bus(picture big evil mouth gaping at the front, but only as a feeling) was speeding back and forth towards me. Almost like space invaders, back and forth, right and left, but always closer. It was moving at the speed of a fast moving bus though. I mean, fast, but in the grand scheme of things not *that* fast. Avoidable, something I could dodge, especially at that age. But of course, I was frozen. Couldn't move as this bus bore down on me. Inches from it crushing me I moved. I stepped, just a bit. Not even a full step, just a motion. But the moment before it collided, the moment before I woke up, the moment before the nightmare ended the same way it did a dozen other times, I moved. *** A year and a half later, I'm in a greco-roman two or three story mansion. Its either flat black out or flat white out depending on, er, things... House plants everywhere, a living feeling. It actually is quite pleasant. But there's something niggling at the back of my neck. I am being hunted. No, it's definitely matte black out. I start running, but the only things I ever see are greco-roman pillar architecture (which I love...just to confuse things) and lots of houseplants. But I can't shake that feeling. Until I get angry. Something slowly creeps up on me. Something that isn't good, but is exactly what I need. Hate. Anger. Whatever is hunting me is in my dream. MY DREAM. I am master here! I throw my right hand out in front of me palm down. I slowly flip my palm upwards. Matte black changes to nothing. I don't really care what colour it is outside anymore. I am the hunter. I hunt that feeling down the rest of the night. It eludes me, but I spend a night hunting a nightmare. I wake up feeling more powerful than I ever have in my life. I beat a fucking nightmare. I start doing that a lot. I get good at it. I don't have nightmares anymore. But I don't have to defeat them anymore either... I lucid dream every once in a while. I can always fly in my dreams in some capacity. Usually just will. Once it took me actually flapping my arms though. That was, well. No that was awesome. Just very weird in hindsight. I've split the ocean in one lucid dream, which also involved a white sun with a green corona that's pretty much seared into my memory and might become a tattoo. I've brought life to a dead city. Yeah I like dreams.
