This isn't exactly a fun story, and I will keep it brief and keep my opinions to a minimum.
I support the 2nd Amendment, just not into guns. Understand why people have them, just not for me. This is a disclaimer.
I had a gun aimed at me, by a man that held it like he knew what he was doing, as I was driving to work at 7:03am on Saturday morning. If I had to guess what offended this man, it was that I was driving too slow in merging onto Murder Raceway, aka I285 from my suburb. I did not in any way intentionally aggravate this person. I was tired from a long week of work and not thrilled about the 6th day of 12hrs, but I woke up in a good mood and was listening to my music, following the speed limit in the right lane always.
My reaction was to stare at him for a moment in disbelief, and then I think I frowned at him. He put the gun down, hauled ass away, and then decided to slow down a couple more times, stare at me once then later roll down his window and made prison talk to me. I admit, I laughed out loud at that point, and our paths thankfully diverged as I needed to get off and go south to my destination - he didn't follow.
In retrospect, I wish I would have gone with my first reaction, which was "I should endanger my life and my new car by using it as a weapon, and make sure he never does this to anyone, ever, again." Happily this didn't happen, but I am pretty sure were this scenario to occur again, there would be no hesitation.
So, I ask you this as gun enthusiasts that are likely responsible gun owners that own them for self-defense, home defense, hunting, or marksmanship, and as a result fairly upset with this individual - what is the proper response?
Obviously, I should have had a dash cam. Or, when I had the opportunity (I never changed my speed), I should have taken a picture of his plate, but my adrenaline was off the charts frankly and I didn't have the clarity of mind to do something so obvious and simple.
He could have pulled the trigger, and it could have killed me. It would have been a straight shot through glass at 10m. Looked like a fucking Eagle to me, but maybe he had small hands lol. My processing of the adrenaline was postponed until Saturday evening when I finished work, and it was another adrenaline dump. Exhausting, terrifying experience overall, I do not recommend.
So... This is in the US, which is rapidly reverting to Wild Wild West status. My gun stance may need to change rapidly, but I am also never going to engage in a damned shootout on the highway like a jackass Billy the Kid.
In short, sorry to dump this here but I didn't know where else to go. I am not mad at any of you, but I hope you are more responsible than this guy. God damn.

God damn. the correct response is to de-escalate and evacuate then report, failing that then going with "defence of self or others" (shoot to kill) the correct action (regardless of personal feelings) for a long and happy life is to undertake some weapons training, get certified then get yourself a cc permit and a few nice guns for use in such situations, you live in a country where anyone and everyone can have a gun, most criminals will have a gun, not having one the only person at risk is you ... also break line if sight on the aggressor (even if that means slamming on the breaks)

The big mistake was not photographing. Without that, nothing to report other than a vehicle description and a vague limited facial description. I failed to act properly.
I know how to shoot, I just prefer temporary solutions to temporary problems and a gun usually isn't that. They definitely have their uses, and I hope this guy finds his happy ending since he seems to be searching for it.

Catch-22, or catch a .22. That is the question.

I might end up trading in my LCP 2 for the LCP MAX, which can hold double stack magazines but more importantly has better sights, including a tritium front sight.

If its mainly the sights, they're just dovetailed in. Buy a new set of sights, push the old ones out, news ones in. Done in 5 minutes. Did that with both my pistols, no problem. If its tight just add some WD40.

I did improve the sights with some makeshift day sight colors in the form of orange and yellow nail polish a while back.

A look at how the establishment has given better gun rights to the Taliban than the citizenry in its own country. I wish i could own a full auto M249 or M16 like one of the Taliban.

It turns out that 1940 vintage 8mm mauser armor-piercing ammo is still a force to be reckoned with against modern steel plating.

Springfield armory came out with a Browning Hi-Power clone(with some modifications) and i gotta say, i'm tempted to get it. This was arguably the best handgun of WW2 or at the very least, in the top 3. If i were to get it, i'd get it some rubber or synthetic grips to replace the stock ones, like this.
