3rd playthrough since launch and just found put this: On Skyhold on the upper tremch with the view in the valley there is a prompt to push "x" (ps4 here) ,a codex opens mentioning that the inquisition troops cannot all fir inside skyhold and in this regard they are located on the valley beneath. So i looked in the valley below and VOILA: little tents and campfires!
That codex changes a couple of times throughout the game so make sure to check it again later.
It does?!?! I did not know that! I've done it the first time, but never again.

Adamant:
The Rift that was open to bring the Pride Demon through for Clarel to bind? When it opens initially, you can actually see the shadow of the Nightmare spider in the green. I noticed that for the first time tonight.

Last time i went to the Storm Coast I found both The Incredible Floating Spindleweed and the spinning wheel on top of the cliff again. I swear i lost them on previous visits.
Collectable/harvestable veil quartz in the Frostback Basin (confused me for a while, why is there a conspicuous rock at the end of this ledge I've spent the past hour falling off?)
I found that nun walking around the Hissing Wastes for the first time ever in the 4th playthrough. I've lost the littlest Cave though, i haven't been able to find that again since I upgraded to the PS4.
Various hints in banter and codices about Solas' true identity leaving me facepalming "how the hell did i miss that?". The biggy was in Trespasser when i discovered that "make our leaders proud" translates as "him solas evanuris".
Returning to Trespasser after Mass Effect means Cole occasionally floors me with his cryptic comments.

If you are in Cullen's office facing his desk, go out the right side door and it will be on left. You have to get pretty close to see the icon and I usually have to select it a bunch of times before the pop up actually pops up.

Found it, thanks! For anyone else who can't find it, walk along the wall (as described above) until you are right above the main bridge, and it's right there

Merry christmass - nugmass or andraste's ass (varric would be proud for this pun) everybody!
In the wardens of the coast quest logs, there is foreshadowing about wardens feeling the darkspawn more than ever . (ofcourse coryfenus's scheme). they were searching for something , maybe the hero of ferelden?
"Dalish" from bull's chargers is "not a mage" , this gag cracks me up.

He has a lot to say, not to mention the War Table missions he gives, which I had no idea about either.

This has been bugging me a bit. It's on a meta level, but it's there.
You guys notice that BioWare is pretty bad about parents in DA? Let's go over the list. I'm leaving out companions that don't mention their family. Josie and Cullen have both of their parents alive and have a pretty good relationship with them.
I will put in Wynne, Anders and Vivienne since they are Circle mages and have no ties to their parents that they mention.
DA:O
The Warden: Dalish--Dead parents City Elf--Dead Mom Dwarf noble--Dead mom Dwarf casteless--Dead dad, mom's a fall down drunk. Human noble--Parents dying before their eyes. Human caster--Circle Mage, no mention of his/her parents.
Morrigan--Flemeth. Next. No father mentioned at any time by Morrigan or Flemeth. Leliana--Dead mom, no mention of her father if memory serves. Her aunt is also dead. Sten--Qunari, so no traditional parents. Wynne--Circle mage and played with. She has a son that didn't know who she was until Asunder. Alistair--He's illegitimate and lied to about his mom's identity. Dad isn't there and his uncle treated him like a dog. Literally in this case. Oh and dad's dead, mom is potentially dead or exiled as of DA:I.
DA:A
Anders--Circle mage. Nathaniel--Ends up despising his father for disgracing the family name. Velanna--Keeper's Second, alienated due to her need to revenge her sister. Sister becomes a ghoul and has to be mercy-killed. I think she can reconcile with her clan, but it's honestly been over 2 years since I played DA:A and really can't for the foreseeable future.
DA:2
Hawke: Dad's dead, at least one sibling is dead, Mom dies and the uncle is a creep.
Merrill--The closest she has to a mom is not on good terms with her. She has to be killed. Isabela--Mom joined the Qun. Sebastian--Dead parents. Varric--Dead parents again. His own brother betrays him. Fenris--Dead mom, no mention of a father, his own sister tries to take him back into slavery. Aveline--Talked about the pressure her father put on her to live up to her famous namesake. He's dead now, of course.
DA:I
The Inquisitor gets a bit of a break from this trope in most of their codex entries. For the most part. See: The awful Dalish War Table quest chain.
Cassandra--Dead parents, estranged from her uncle. Iron Bull--See Sten. Sera--Orphan and has a lot of bad feelings about her adoptive mother. Dorian--His parents are alive, but are on very bad terms. Cole--No parents at all. The real Cole--Dad was abusive, mom was either hateful or too scared to help her son. He might have killed his sister. Even our Cole would admit that he isn't 100% sure on that last part, but the rest is true. Vivienne-Circle mage
Yo, BioWare? Could you ease up just a bit? It's getting a bit draining and repetitive. It is better than the ME series though...

Just a little addition, The real Cole's dad hated him (and I think his mom too?) for being a mage and probably killed Cole's mom because of it. The real Cole accidentally suffocated his little sister when he tried to keep her quiet. He (Cole's dad) is dead too I think.

Gilli Thanks, I'll add that in. You're welcome Oh! I just remembered something, in DAA, Velanna was on kinda bad terms(?) with her Keeper and her sister ended up as a ghoul. <-- her parents were never stated, but she was a First, like Merrill if I remember right.

dragontartare Added him too. Wow, that's the entire DA2 cast. Bethany/Carver is in the same boat as Hawke. Yeah, I'd like to see some more companions in the ME and DA series that don't have some sort of parental issues. I've got a similar post I made in the ME version of this thread. I added Velanna too.

Well, at least they are consistent. I guess that's all to make up for the fact that children are neither to be seen nor heard in the game. Well, unless they are getting possessed by a demon or being swindled out of a family sword. It's also kind of a fantasy story trope, though they do seem to have taken it to quite an extreme.

Well, unless they are getting possessed by a demon or being swindled out of a family sword. It's also kind of a fantasy story trope, though they do seem to have taken it to quite an extreme. I posted in the Space Marriage/Kids thread in ME:A going into detail about why I think kids in general aren't a good idea for any BW game. Agreed. It's a trope that has overstayed it's welcome in BioWare games. As well as the parental issues with some of the older cast members. Also, you notice that rarely do you see both parents get called by name? For example, I have no idea what the name of Leliana's father was, but she does share the name of her aunt. Or Dorian, who obviously has a poor relationship with his mother. He never says her name either. In fact, much of that list leaves at least one parent unnamed. Maybe it's just me, but it can be immersion breaking at times. Maybe it's because I can't relate to that at all. My folks are still alive, still happily married. I was mad at them when I was in my teens and early 20s, but I grew up and got over it. I know BioWare can do better than leaning so hard on that trope.

I posted in the Space Marriage/Kids thread in ME:A going into detail about why I think kids in general aren't a good idea for any BW game. Agree. It may be about effective usage of resources. So if someone is going to get screentime they have to have some kind of plot relevance. In a game of murder and mayhem you get the Hawke situation. If they're not going to get screentime I guess it's easier to explain absence with them being dead. With a parent or sibling alive and not getting screentime you get the Spacer Shep situation. I have a hard time accepting that you could not find time to see each other at least once while in the space lanes. I agree that they should be able to move away from the trope and find other uses for close relations without killing them off =)
