Vampire the Masquerade Bloodline's Haunted Hotel. This among some other in that game. Why can't we get games like that anymore? Don't have to have all the bugs though. Could probably mention some more alternatives but my brain is a bit foggy at the moment. May add some more after spending some time thinking about it.

I'm going to pick a whole dungeon, Durlags Tower from tales of the sword coast BG expansion. Love Durlag's Tower. I'm a gamer who hates puzzles in games but I overlooked that in DT because that expansion was just awesome.

There's a level of Dantes inferno where a naked Giant demon queen is climbing a tower like king kong firing walking vaginas with teeth out of her nipples in hell.
It also contains a key moment in the story because you kill the devils GF and he reveals some stuff to you that hurts.
That, was how how you do a game level BioWare.

Half Life 1.
You're crawling through a duct, trying to escape some soldiers that are in the room right below you. All of a sudden you hear one of them yell out, "I HEAR MOVEMENT!" Guns start firing, all of a sudden you bullet holes in front of you, and they're coming your way. They hit you, and you crash down into the middle of a room full of soldiers, all trying to kill you.
That was one of my favorite games.

I don't have a favorite game level but i remember a scene in one of the Silent Hill games. I think it was SH 2 but i'm not sure where you stand in a room in front of a mirror and all looks fine. But the longer you look at yourself in that mirror the more bloody and grosser it gets. Until if you look long enough you'll die that was an amazing scene.

Probably Noveria from ME1. I like the story and the atmosphere. There are lots of intetrsting NPCs to talk too. Multiple paths through and all this other good stuff.
I noticed someone talk about Half-life just now, and I like the first part of 2, where you don't have any weapons yet, and you just walk through the occupied town, and then the Metro police with their funny voices chase you. I'm pretty sure that Cerberus troops in ME3 were supposed to be inspired by them. (A shout out to the HL1 first level with the einsteins being killed in entertaining ways)
Also, I remember a level in one of the older Medal of Honor games. Where it starts off with a lot of fighting and battle, with this little tank driving around this bombed out town, and then gradually the level quietens down with fewer enemies, who ambush you, and then near the end when it finishes with another large battle going on.
I think I like missions the most where the amount of action changes gradually from exciting and loud, to quiet and back, instead of now when they all feel like being dragged through one continuous murderfest, which gets really tiring really quickly.

I'm gonna go with the Star Forge in KOTOR, fighting Malak. Good stuff. I felt the Star forge drew on a bit too long, like how lots of games have mandatory end-game slogs. It feels weird when Malak goes "Ha ha ha ha. My army of a bazillion droids will stop him eventually etc. etc.

Peragus Mining Facility - KOTOR 2 One of the most atmospheric levels in any WRPG I've played. I loved it and loved the musicSchool Trip to Iwatodai in Persona 4 Step down memory lane meant a lot to me after having played Persona 3, then coming back to this town again with the same old P3 music. Groznyj Grad - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Loved getting to know this fortress, you'll be spending a lot of time in it, learning all of its pathways and buildings Imperial City - Jade Empire The entire game is full of colour and appealling asian-based music, loved getting to the first large hub area of the game and doing all of the side quest within it. The story was really amped up once you got there too. Noveria - Mass Effect Atmosphere, conspiracies, corrupt officials, intrigue, Mass Effect channelling cyberpunk-It was the best planet in the game. Rubacava - Grim Fandango Fandango didn't get more noir and awesome than this, bluesies jazz tunes, cocktails, and Manny sporting a nice tux Silent Hill 3 - The Lakeside Amusement Park Robbie the Rabbit, and the grotesque galore of chains and rusty aesthetic of the otherworld brought this place to life. Psychonauts - Milla's Dance Party What is so great about Psychonauts is how it manages to stay campy (heh, campy) and colourful while somehow also managing to portray an underlying dark subconcious of one of its residence. Namely, one of the tutor's named Milla. She once ran and orphanage, which one day was caught in fire with all the children inside. She was forced helplessly to stand by and listen to their agonizing screams as they burned alive, given she's a psychonaut, she can actually hear the screams. Terrible. New Vegas - Big Mountain I think that was what it was called? It's DLC but still a great level for the game. Fun, quirky, and just a general good ol' time. Halloween Town - Kingdom Hearts I mean aside from it being A Nightmare Before Christmas, thereby being the best Disney world, it's got an awesome haunting thememeant to obviously compliment its setting. Cool, Cool Mountain - Mario 64 Good music, challenging platforming Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - The Hospital You see the demon for the first time, and your teacher telling you the world is ending in 5 minutes or something. It's good Digital Devil Saga 1 - Muladhara Your homebase, serene track -- There's a lot of great moments at the end of it too though. I'd mention more later if I had some time. 'Cause there's a lot of great moments and levels!

XD I guess that made finally defeating Malak all the sweeter.

I have always been a huge fan of The Underdark and the Drow are my fav race from Forgottem Realms lore, therefore I'll go with Ust Natha, in BG2.
Looking at most recent games I must say that I've been very impressed by The Haunted Manor/The Painted World from TW3 expansion Heart of Stone. That level is really a masterpiece.

It's not exactly all time favourite. I called it fun and hilarious. The first time I played this, I was along for the ride, enjoying the story, chars and gameplay so I was completely hyped for the chase. Until I saw what was going to be the vehicle. I've never laughed so much in my life.
