Nobody was defeated in the episode 4 duel you dolts Kenobi became one with the Force at the penultimate moment You mean as Vader's lightsaber was carving through his torso like a Christmas Goose. His acknowledging of his inability to defeat Vader is to his credit. But no, there is a clear victor here. It's the guy still breathing. That's usually how it goes in duels to the death.

Yes, the cloth starts falling BEFORE impact, not as a result of it. It also starts falling straight down. If he became a Force Ghost after impact, it would probably retain some sort of momentum, whether from the saber strike itself, or from Kenobi's subconsicous movement.

Not really, Obi-Wan let Vader kill him, big difference. Read the novelization if you actually want to get into the head space of that engagement, Vader was flat out winning due to his strength and endurance, he was battering the old man aside, because he was battering the old man aside. So let him kill him? Sure, to the point where he was defeated either way. Warderz you underestimate the extent of Vader's knowledge about the High Ground. The high ground is not only a tactical vantage point on the battlefield but in Obi-Wan's case it's a mental state of being that's akin Nirvana or achieving oneness with the force in the EU. Despite his superiority Vader understood this, and was why he ambushed Obi-Wan in an enclosed location with no elevated surfaces. He couldn't afford any fuck ups no matter how miniscule Obi-Wan's chances were at defeating him. He had to play it safe. Obi-Wan soon realized that Vader neutralized his only chance at victory the High Ground and was like fuck it you win, gg. Like his mastery of Soresu Obi-Wan is equally versed in High Groundness.

During my time away from bsn I actually played some Battlefront II. The focus on the Clone Wars content though kinda caused me to lose some interest. It also used like 92GB of space on my PS4 and it was a little too large Its uninstalled right now, but overall Battlefront II was a game I enjoyed... Even though its a multiplayer shooter and those arent generally my thing. Ive only played like 2. A while ago, I made this: I made it using the ShareFactory program on the PS4 and just cutscenes from the campaign. There are some audio balancing problems and some other things too but it was generally well received over at the Battlefront II forums when I posted it. An EA community manager also said some nice things. I decided to post it here because I think the Battlefront II thread is probably dead by now and the topic appeared in this thread *nods*

Becoming one with the Living Force is usually done at death, not the act that caused it. So I guess if we go by your logic, Obi Wan held in a fart too long and just keeled over.

He actually stopped fighting, held the lightsaber upward in front of him and mentioned that he would become more powerful than Vader could possibly imagine. Now, we never saw any evidence that it was true until TJL when Force Ghost Luke was apparently strong enough to kick anyone's ass, but Obi still believed what he said.

Him acknowledging he was defeated was sort of my point. ._. I have no wish to discuss things relating to TLJ though.

Im kinda a wannabe writer in the sense that Ive written quite a few novel-length works even though Ive never been published or actually shared it with anyone really. But one of the things I enjoy is writing characters. I personally think that fictional characters, no matter what genre they belong to, have a certain power. Because we are individual people who live our own lives, it can be difficult to understand different people and characters, even the ones that live in fictional universes, can be good at creating a bridge between one person's life and another. People can learn, through fiction, what its like to be someone who isnt themselves or even develop connections with characters who are already like them and I think thats really powerful. With superhero movies and Star Wars movies... There is a little more to it though. Superheroes and Jedi live in a situation of almost binary morality. Something is either good or bad, dark side or light side. I kinda wish they would tear down those concepts a little more like they started in The Last Jedi, but that isnt the point Im trying to make Superheroes, Jedi and people like them are essentially an embodiment of everything thats good. They help people, save lives, inspire hope. They can inspire people irl to be better and can be used as symbols to accomplish good. When it comes to movies and franchises like Star Wars and the MCU... I think its a good thing for as many people as possible to have characters they can aspire to me like. Role models, basically. Which is why Im supportive of the inclusion of characters like Rey in Star Wars. But, personally, what I dont want is for people to celebrate a female character because theyre female. I want them to be celebrated as good characters and the good that they can accomplish irl as fictional characters. But... we are kinda at a point where characters are often celebrated for superficial differences because they are essentially milestones in both the movies and the production of movies. They are big deals, even though I think they shouldnt be. And part of that reason is the rarity imo. I think the solution to this is to kinda remove the rarity and make different "types" of superhero etc common so they dont have to be celebrated as something special, instead of their characterization, writing, acting etc being the focus of the praise. But, based on what I said before about the good characters can do... even though I dont do it myself, I understand why people can see the criticisms of some characters as personal attacks. Partly because personal attacks against characters actually happen and because of what the characters mean to people who enjoy superhero movies or Star Wars movies and dont have a character they can really relate to. As i said, i dont do this. I dont agree with people that do this. But I can understand why it happens. Though, personally, I love Rey. I think shes great Though I can understand why people dont like her. Kinda. Entertainment is subjective. I would also like to kinda explain a little bit of what Ive experienced with female-led movies though like the sequel trilogy with Star Wars. Im not gonna affiliate it with any group, or mention any reasons, because I try to be a sensible person and I understand that people are individuals. So yay. But here is my experience. In my time speaking to people online, I think movies like the more recent Star Wars movies are viewed in a different way to movies that came before. Im not talking about reception or ratings or anything but in the way some people actually watch the movies. Rather than just enjoying a movie, for whatever reason it feels like they have the need to place it under a microscope and almost analyze every scene for something they dont like or something they disagree with. There have been times where I feel there to be a pretty big difference between what the movie is trying to do in a scene, and what some people will infer from it. I honestly wonder if they have some super secret incredibly strange edition of certain movies they watch at times. Ive noticed it happen in quite a few different interactions now across a few different sites. It isnt even necessarily the actual content of the movie, but it also happens with some "behind the scenes" things also. I had a few interesting conversations on the Battlefront II forums thats for sure. One example I can think of is when someone said that the recent Star Wars movies were garbage because they were anti-white men (because every villain was a white man). I asked them if they had actually seen another Star Wars movie because nothing has changed in that way, and tbh Captain Phasma is a villain and shes a woman. Its kinda better than the older SW movies. For me, thats a good example of the way that the movies havent changed that much, but the way that some people view them have. Not sure why. But because of the trend, I can imagine its difficult to see many of the criticisms as genuine and instead because of things like the gender of the character. But, for me, I love Rey. I love the Force Awakens, its my favorite Star Wars movie. I love The Last Jedi, its #2 for me. No matter what peoples motives are for criticizing the movies, I dont really care. It wont change my enjoyment *shrugs* Though, it isnt nice when movies get review bombed and things like that. It can have a negative effect on sales, which can affect other movies like it being made, which will affect my enjoyment. Thats the only thing I dont like. Im not sure what this post is. Part ramble, part rant, part Star Wars fangirling. Its just what I thought after watching the video. I agree with some of it, and disagree with some of it. Like... I wouldnt really consider Princess Leia a strong female character, personally. Shes iconic for sure, and there are moments of strength in the OT and I guess the end of ROTJ is ok, but often what happens in the movies would kinda stop me from using the term, at least until TFA and TLJ. Maybe thats an unpopular opinion. I do love Leia though! Im excited for episode IX Solo is also starting to climb up my list of favorite Star Wars movies every time I watch it. For a start I was a little ehhhhh but now I actually really like it.
