Honestly, I guess it depends on your version of "messed-up." I of course don't want to see them re-do the story of KOTOR, but I would like to at least have some movie that confirmed that characters like Bastilla, Revan, and Malak did exist in the new canon. Or at the very least, see if they could bring the Selkath race into the canon. I love these characters sure, but I'm not against seeing what new things they could do with them. Particularly with Revan since aside from the sequel novels and SWTOR, there wasn't really a pre-set personality for him. The Selkath are canon. We saw them a couple times in the Clone Wars series. As for the characters, okay maybe mentions of them would be fine but only as long as they never go into detail (like Revan's actions or even sex).

If a Knights of the Old Republic film were to be made, it's obvious that it shouldn't be a direct adaptation of the original video game. Instead, I want to see them take the world and maybe some of the characters and tell their own story that honors the original game while also fitting in with the new Canon. For example, we know that via Rebels, Malachor was ancient Sith weapon, where a great battle occurred. So, how about either an adaption of the Mandolorian Wars that lead to Revan using the Malachor weapon, or even a completely different story that's similar to the original game, only replacing the Star Forge with Malachor?
I'm honestly not asking for much or keeping expectations too high. The reason I always get excited for new Star Wars is the potential for new characters and new locations. Being able to explore the galaxy some more is what keeps me into Star Wars!

No, I'm being serious. I appreciate you agreeing with me on something, but I'm confused as to which statement. For all I know, you could have agreed with one part of the statement over the other. Just some clarification please.

If I ever get an opportunity to work on a Star Wars story for a movie, comic, video game, whatever (which I'm going to be honest, probably won't happen), I would like to return to the planet Naboo, one of my favorite childhood planets back when I used to adore the prequels (still kind of do, though I admit they're not that great after all). Actually, I would probably focus on the character Sabe (Kierra Knightley's character from Phantom Menace) since there isn't really much in the current continuity about what happened to her or what she's been up to since Phantom Menace.
I actually had the idea of having a story set prior to A New Hope in Empire controlled Naboo, with Sabe returning to the planet to help try and liberate the planet (and probably failing since canonically Naboo doesn't become free until after Return of the Jedi, when Operation Cinder was being implemented.)

And now, just because I feel like it, my ranking of the Star Wars films and my reasons for them:
1. Empire Strikes Back - it may seem like an obvious choice, but I choose this film to be my favorite because it really is Star Wars at its best, with two really engaging storylines happening simultaneously, some interesting lore with the Force, and just how dark and intense the film is while still being a fun adventure. It also has a lot of the most iconic moments in the franchise, so I may be more biased to it than I care to admit.
2. Force Awakens - aside from having really great and updated effects, Force Awakens felt like a pure adventure flick, and one of the good kinds with interesting ideas, characters you engage with, and some solid pacing to keep the action going without it feeling like too much. I understand there's some criticism for the story being a little too close to A New Hope, but I honestly this movie told that story a bit better than a New Hope, which I feel can be a bit dated and a little slow/convenient at places.
3. A New Hope - like I said, it can feel a little dated with some the effects and acting, but it's still a very classical story containing a lot of my favorite moments and lines in the franchise.
4. The Last Jedi - visually this is probably the best looking Star Wars film, and it had a lot of interesting ideas. But a lot of those ideas felt forced, and the pacing with the secondary story (with the Resistance) felt awkward and went on too long than it needed to be.
5. Phantom Menace - this is my favorite of the Prequels, mainly because it's the first Star Wars movie I've ever seen (so I might be a bit biased). While it definitely has a lot of the Prequel problems, this movie felt more like the proper adventure stories I liked in other Star Wars movie, and is the one with more practical effects and sets so that it didn't feel very fake.
6. Return of the Jedi - while definitely a fun movie with some good moments, I find this film to be a bit ridiculous for my liking. The rescue of Han Solo took a little too long and the Ewoks, while not bad, felt a little silly and out of place for a grand finale.
7. Solo - This is a definitely a guilty pleasure movie for me. I've guess I've always had a thing for scoundrel based characters and heists, and this movie I honestly had a lot of fun with. It's neat seeing a backstory to one of my favorite characters and one of my favorite ships, and while many characters are unceremoniously killed off and the final twist is underwhelming, I can still watch this movie as a fun adventure flick.
8. Rogue One - While I agree that this a better MOVIE than Solo, it's unfortunately more forgettable for me. The characters are pretty forgettable and boring (with the exception of K2SO) and it was really unfair seeing EVERY character get killed the end.
9. Revenge of the Sith - A lot of people say this is the best prequel, but personally have more problems with it than Phantom Menace. The only fun parts in this movie are probably the beginning, Order 66, and the final battle, but in order to get to those parts, you have to sit through really boring and cringe-inducing dialogue that just felt slow to me. Plus the overuse of CG is definitely distracting.
10. Attack of the Clones - admittedly the worst of the prequels. It's boring save for the end, the romance is cringe-inducing and badly written, and the bad effects are distracting.
11. Clone Wars - I would say the worst a movie can be is forgettable/boring, and this was definitely the most boring of them all. The TV show definitely picks up, but this movie was definitely a bad start.

Good start. But you're forgetting the reason part. I'm not trying to push you into saying something so I can counter them and say you're wrong. Normally when I ask someone what their favorite movie is or their least favorite movie, I usually like to also ask why they think that way because I generally like to think about my opinions, offer my thoughts on them, and maybe see if I can be convinced to agree with them. As someone who thinks way too hard about movies and film criticism, I don't get why people get annoyed when I ask for their opinions and offer some constructive thoughts of my own based on their responses. Let's just agree to disagree on things okay?

I'll just say Empire is my favorite. I won't go through a list with the others. But I will say the movies that have too much Jar Jar screen time will be my bottom feeders.
Anyhow, Empire, good story, character development, special effects at the time and most of all its personal. Around this time my sister was born so a lot of my moms time was spent on my sister. On opening day, my mom took me out to go "shopping" but ended up surprising me when we pulled into the theater's parking lot and said we're going to see Star Wars. A rare moment of me and mom time. I'll always remember that.

Gameplay footage is giving me some Force Unleashed flashbacks, which depending on how you guys view the games is either good or bad. (I personally enjoyed those game's lightsaber and force combat so...). Some of the animations look a little clunky here and there, but considering this is Alpha footage, I'm expecting they'll be making a few tweaks prior to release.
Otherwise, I'm really looking forward to this! It has a really neat story concept and the gameplay looks like it will at least be fun!

Despite my reservations about what a piece of shit EA is, and how absolutely awful the Last Dumpster Fire was, I must say this could actually be a turning point for Lucasfilm... at least regarding single-player games Although I must be realistic about the immediate future of the franchise under Emperor Kennedy;

And now, just because I feel like it, my ranking of the Star Wars films and my reasons for them: Ok, let's do this:
- Empire Strikes Back - basically for all the reasons previously mentioned above. Great character development, great plot, great atmosphere, great plot twist at the end, great progression for the trilogy. All in all a masterpiece of story telling.
- Rogue One - The best of all the new movies by far IMO. The way it fits into the existing lore is fantastic, yet it manages to establish it's own cast of characters (Jyn Erso is my favorite SW protagonist) and even develop them within just the one movie. The atmosphere of the "dark times" is absolutely nailed in this one, statring with the opening scene on that dreary planet. Visuals are fantastic. Only downside is that everybody dies. I would have loved to see these characters again in some fashion.
But given the context this was unavoidable, so this just adds to the overall boldness of making this movie in the first place. Top notch movie, actually comes close to Empire in my book.
- A New Hope - To be honest, I always thought the plot and dialogue was actually extremely shallow in ANH. But it kicked off the entire thing and established the atmosphere and general lore of SW, which earns it a huge bonus and the effects of the space dog fights as well as the costume designs (especially for the aliens, just saying, Mos Eisley bar) are exceptional. So, good stuff.
- Return of the Jedi - Great pacing in this movie and especially in the final battle, taking place simultaneously in three locations. This thing is going on for about 45 minutes or something and it still just doesn't get old, even on the gazillions watching. Not easy to pull off, that. Add a satisfying ending to the trilogy and all is good. Only slight downside are the silly Evoks, but hay, if Lucas wants teddy bears, he wants teddy bears, what can you do. Besides, at least their language was kinda awesome and 3PO provides some comedy gold with them.
- Revenge of the Sith - After 2 very medicore movies (see below) the third of the prequel trilogy actually managed to impress somewhat. First of all, it has the best intro of all SW movies IMO. That camera flight through the battle of Corruscant is marvelous and the crashing of (half a) ship a few minutes later also was impressive. Besides, this movie manages to tie off all the open prequel plotlines very neatly, puts all the characters in the right place at the end and does so in the time frame of one movie without getting the pacing completely out of hand (towards the end it seems a little rushed but it's not too bad). That must have required some very meticulous planning on Lucas' end and I can respect that.
- The Force Awakens - I don't really get all the criticism that this movie was subjected to. Maybe the plot and characters do remind somewhat of ANH but then, I don't think that was too bad. After all, if you want to revive the spirit of the original trilogy after 30 years and capture the essence of what made SW great in the first palce, that makes perfect sense. Besides, the movie's execution was top notch IMO. Effects, characters, pacing, costumes, CGI, atmosphere, cameos, all great. The only one I never got used to was Kylo Ren as a villain. I realize it was the ONE thing where they tried something new but the young insecure emo sith didn't really work for me. Still, without him we wouldn't have gotten his fun total psycho version in this video, so maybe it was all worth it. Oh, and I will admit, the "super death star" planet had me cringe, too but nobody is perfect. Or maybe I was just glad to see X-Wings again.
- Solo - I thought it was a decent movie. I agree with the people who go all Adam Jensen on it and say "we never asked for this". And there are certainly some issues with casting someone besides Harrison Ford as Solo. Don't get me wrong, the guy does a great job, imitating Ford's mannerisms, speech patterns and such but I just never can get past the fact that it's not Ford. And young Lando was just ... seriously weird. But apart from those issues, I thought it was a very solid SW movie. It had great action, a decent plot (for an SW movie, again, I don't rate them very high on actual plot lines in the first place). And I was happy to see this scifi heist movie, that was kind of a novel idea overall and a fun summer movie to watch. So I am good with Solo.
- Attack of the Clones - Ok, now we start to get into the bottom of things. AotC was a step up from Phantom Menace (see below), mainly because at least Anakin grew up, there was a little less Jar Jar and more battles instead. That said, even grown up Anakin is still frigging annoying, so is Jar jar when he is still around and the battles are a little too CGI-ish IMO (especially Master Yoda the bouncing ball as well as the cgi insect people). I will say this though, when humans (or at least human sized aliens) fight with light sabers, that was always choreographed super nicely in the prequel trilogy, so that's one thing it's got going for it. But all in all, like PM, this one also was just a little too ... perky? sprightly? chipper? Not sure which word to use, but I hope you get my meaning anyway. I like my Star Wars a touch darker. Oh, and it didn't help that the acting in this one was very much hit and miss.
- The Last Jedi - Now, I am not hating on TLJ as much as half the internet seems to but I will also point out that it had some major flaws. First of all, it was about 45 minutes too long and it dragged in several places. Then, it had a lot of moments where it just went bizarre like when Luke drinks blue milk directly from the teats of the space cow, Poe's "phone prank" right in the beginning and also Leia's space walk. The character development, while somewhat there, wasn't really believable (Rey's non training for example) and some stuff just felt like completely unnecessary fluff on top of the actual story (e.g. Rose, as in the entire character and - connected to that - that whole plot arc with the code breaker and the casino planet. It was all so useless, also, Snoke was made pointless as well). As a result the movie felt like it seriously lacked a clear direction. There are some really good scenes buried in there, I think but as a whole, it feels not quite thought through.
- The Phantom Menace - Between young "Anny", Jar Jar, all the plastic toy looking starships, medichlorians, french speaking aliens and half an hour of pod racing, this is the worst SW movie in my books. I went to see the original trilogy on the big screen again, when they were remastered in the 90s and so by 1999 I was completely hyped for the new movie. What a disappointment it was. The only up side of this clusterfuck were the light saber duels and seeing Corruscant for the first time as well as Palpatine's fairly subtle political machinations, which I thought were kinda cool. But apart from that, it was the low point of the franchise for me.
That's it, never seen Clone Wars (not the series or the movie, didn't even know there was a movie). Let's do video games one of these days.
