'Ugly characters?' thread

Seriously though, you can customize her face if you don't like it.  

Does every woman have to look like a model or a pr0nstar or whatever? 

They have baby faces. Everybody looks like teenagers.

Ah, I wondered if this thread would pop up.

1. I'd said to luzarius that they could express their view (in one thread) if they did so courteously.
2. I'm making the thread title more neutral (and not a statement of fact) because that was only going to take us into politics and frames this thread as a discussion.
3. if everyone focuses on the arguments in hand (and doesn't get personal), please continue...

Why are you complaining about a customizable character and a character who you're probably never ever going to sleep with.

Aaaand, here we go

I was going to go on a long rant about you, know, stuff... but, I'll just say that I thought both of those characters look fine. Attractive, even. But then, I also thought Morrigan and Cassandra and Josephine and Sera all looked really good in Inquisition too. Beautiful in that varied way real women in real life are. I would also make the argument that not all women in a game need be beautiful. Just as not all male characters in a game need be handsome - I would even say that other than the PC and maybe that one guy companion few male characters typically are. While the majority of female characters are designed to be pretty. Funny how these threads always crop up though about the women. I wasn't really involved in the BSN ME forums before they shut down, but, were there ever any threads complaining about how Anderson and Hackett and Udina and the Illusive Man and that one guy in charge of that one merc company were not hot enough? Somehow I doubt it. Anyway, the characters are not there for me to lust over - they're there to be characters in a story that add to the environment and move the plot forward.

And you can make Sara look however you want. So the argument that she's not attractive enough for you to want to play a game with her in it is silly. And for all we know at this point, that one scene with that other woman is the only time we even see her. Or she's just there for that one quest. So the argument that she's not hot enough to make this a game you want to play is also silly.

Personally, I'm more interested in whether the characters are interesting and well written and have good voice acting. And while I like seeing hot dudes as much as the next straight girl, I'd much rather see guys of all different ages, races, attractiveness in my game than a bunch of conventionally attractive guys with with nice bland chiseled faces.

"Ugly" is kind of a subjective term here.

Besides you do realize you can design your own face, or mod one for the pc port. I never used the default femshep face when i played femshep in the original trilogy cause i didnt fancy that, same for the male, so I made my own.

And as for the animations yes they do need some polishing, but what level are u people expecting, honestly? Im certainly not expecting LA noire levels of facial animations.

Yeah, I'd wait for the final game anyway. Female character changed quite a bit during DAI's development.
