I'm in fucking tears right now. I need more. Still relevant, it's sports. He also reviews Game of Thrones and other stuff. One of the better Youtubers around. I've actually seen the second one before linked in one forum or another. I've definitely subscribed.

Ended with a bronze. It's a bit disappointing, sure, but can't win every time. The semifinal against Russia was a toss up with a one goal loss in extra time. 10-goal win against the Netherlands in the bronze-final. An odd 3rd place is nothing to be ashamed about. Glad to see that the girls can smile and celebrate a bronze-medal two days after the semifinal. Interviews post match show that they're not quite over it yet, but that's what you get when you're so used to winning tournaments. We've got some work to do defensively before the euros later this year, but that's for later. Also, this gal scored 62 goals in 8 matches: Also, "I am Groot!":

I've never watched water polo before. I'd assumed it was pretty boring. Turns out it is literally "Olympic Beating the Shit out of People in a Swimming Pool"
Seriously, a Montenegrin and an Italian spent pretty much the whole bronze medal match trying to drown each other, seemingly oblivious to the rest of the game going on around them.

Water polo is a beautiful sport. But it's also as violent as rugby, probably. Especially if you consider that you only see a tenth of what really happens below the water. You wouldn't want to know the entirety of what happens there, trust me

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Great work, and congratulations on your first Gold in Soccer man! No one deserved it more than you guys! A modicum of payback against the Germans for 2014, eh? I love the Brazilians in soccer. They play it with such passion and art!

Mo Farah wins again, what a beast! He's a drug cheat. I'm still waiting to see how they try to refuse him a knighthood though. He should've got one in 2012.

End of the Olympic Games and Brazil did good. Wasn't great and didn't get to their goal (finish in the Top 10 of the medal table) but got their best participation of all time. We have to build on that for 2020.
It was a fun two weeks here in the country. I'm glad Rio didn't fuck this shit up like we all feared.

An eventful final day of the Olympics! US takes home the Gold in Men's Basketball against a valiant and worthy effort by Serbia, who take home Silver. Spain takes home the Bronze in a very close match over Australia.
I'm disappointed for Australia - they were definitely favored in to be one of the finalists for Basketball in both men's and women's sports. I was hoping for more for them this year, but hey, I know you'll be back in 4 years to kick-ass with everyone else! Same for the Kiwi's, my newfound other seconds team with the Aussies! New Zealand will do well I foresee!
And an emotional statement from Carmelo Anthony on the nature of this Gold. Very heartfelt, very true. Kevin Durant put together a hell of team this year!
This has been an amazing Olympiad for Team USA among a very worthy and challenging pool of contender countries this year! There's a lot to be proud of for every country! Even with some of the controversies that have arisen, altogether, this Olympics has been a success, I think! Brazil came together to make a great Olympics to be proud of!
Final Medal Count for the top 20 countries:
1. United States - 46 Gold, 37 Silver, 38 Bronze, Total 121 Medals 11. Netherlands - 8 Gold, 7 Silver, 4 Bronze, Total 19 Medals
2. Great Britain - 27 Gold, 23 Silver, 17 Bronze, Total 67 Medals 12. Hungary - 8 Gold, 3 Silver, 4 Bronze, Total 15 Medals 3. China - 26 Gold, 18 Silver, 26 Bronze, Total 70 Medals 13. Brazil - 7 Gold, 6 Silver, 6 Bronze, Total 19 Medals
4. Russia - 19 Gold, 18 Silver, 19 Bronze, Total 56 Medals 14. Spain - 7 Gold, 4 Silver, 6 Bronze, Total 17 Medals 5. Germany - 17 Gold, 10 Silver, 15 Bronze, Total 42 Medals 15. Kenya - 6 Gold, 6 Silver, 1 Bronze, Total 13 Medals 6. Japan - 12 Gold, 8 Silver, 21 Bronze, Total 41 Medals 16. Jamaica - 6 Gold, 3 Silver, 2 Bronze, Total 11 Medals 7. France - 10 Gold, 18 Silver, 14 Bronze, Total 42 Medals 17. Croatia - 5 Gold, 3 Silver, 2 Bronze, Total 10 Medals 8. South Korea - 9 Gold, 3 Silver, 9 Bronze, Total 21 Medals 18. Cuba - 5 Gold, 2 Silver, 4 Bronze, Total 11 Medals 9. Italy - 8 Gold, 12 Silver, 8 Bronze, Total 28 Medals 19. New Zealand - 4 Gold, 9 Silver, 5 Bronze, Total 18 Medals 10. Australia - 8 Gold, 11 Silver, 10 Bronze, Total 29 Medals 20. Canada - 4 Gold, 3 Silver, 19 Bronze, Total 15 Medals

Did the USA and GB do extremely well, or did Russia and China get exposed for all their doping? China and Russia are usually only a handful of Golds behind the USA. China even beat the USA in 2008 on Golds but not total.
Great Britain certainly proved 2012 wasn't only home field advantage either.

Russia in particular deservedly got the slam for their doping issues. China, I don't know about. 70 medals is nothing to be ashamed of, but you're right, the US pulled an unusually large lead in the Medal Count this year. I haven't kept up with any news about doping in China if any is to be had, but there are a number of explanations for it.

China did poorly by their own high recent standards. Russia had loads of athletes banned before the games even started so that must have affected their tally. Team GB did amazingly well, considering that we have roughly 20% the population of the USA, and we comfortably outperformed all comparably-sized European nations. It's pretty much unheard of for a host nation to get more medals in the following Olympics than they did at their own.
