Well judging by shots of the three Riders this time I'm might actually be looking for to see humans' hairs and facial hairs.

*snip* Stop using word "objectively". Again, I stumble upon you using it in order to your legitimize your ENTIRELY SUBJECTIVE opinion. And no - they're NOT suggesting there's nothing; just likely not enough for such a large project that likely costs colossal money and takes thousands of people across space to land in a new galaxy 600 years later. I mean, MEA ain't even out yet - and you're deeming things in absolutist way even though we don't know yet all the detail. Though it's certainly *objectively accurate* that a whole huge galaxy that is Andromeda is likely has way more planetary systems able to suport life. And then there's the in-game (that we know for 100%) that there are are alien life forms there, which include some sort of remains of ancient civilization - and we do not yet know if this wasn't a decisive factor to venture there in the first place. Then there's the fact that Andromeda Initiative will at least attempt to establish some sort of route between both galaxies. And hey, if anything else - it only makes sense for them to try and colonize Andromeda, given that *eventually* both it and Milky Way will be one. You miss the fact that MEA doesn't happens in OUR world, with OUR level of technology, but something way more advanced. In that universe, humanity has already been traveling on other side of galaxies and exploring space outside of galaxy with far superior technology than ours, together with other civilizations that are way advanced than ours. Disregarding that... well, THAT is nonsense. No, it is not a subjective opinion. It is a fact. Your arguments in defense of this venture actually further support that. There are plenty of places closer that would cost less resources, so yet another reason why it is illogical and stupid to go further and spend more when the same thing is available closer and cheaper. What do we not know? Between the website and the devs answering questions, we know enough details now to determine these things like why we are going there. If you are going that far in the future to be a factor, it would then make more sense to just wait until they merge or get closer before venturing to it. It is called a parallel. The example I gave is on par with what is happening in the game, just scaled down to answer a real world response. Then, why going out of the Solar System in the first place? Why didn't we stay in the Solar System terraforming and colonizing Mars, and the Moon, going further with the Jupiter's moons a couple of centuries more? Why activate that Pluto's relay? We barely used the potential of the Solar System, why leaving? Someone said in this forum a couple days ago that it's in the human nature: learning to run before being able to walk. I think that appreciation is correct.

No, it is not a subjective opinion. It is a fact... Lets not get wound up about this. Debating what is a 'fact' in a future/fantasy story is somewhat missing the point of it . Andromeda is, as Hitchcock put it, is the McGuffin of the story: MacGuffin: an object or device in a [game] film or a book which serves merely as a trigger for the plot.Firstly, whatever motivated the Andromeda Initiative, that's where the arks are going for new and isolated exploration, and Secondly, on with the tweets . I am getting wound up about this. It hurts the entire game if everything is built on a ridiculous premise. Especially when it also goes against established lore. But fine, I'll drop it in this thread for now. We barely used the potential of the Solar System, why leaving? Someone said in this forum a couple days ago that it's in the human nature: learning to run before being able to walk. I think that appreciation is correct. We did do that in the Mass Effect timeline. We didn't start exploring the Mass Relays until after we colonized all the places we could in the Solar System. Anyway, this is the Twitter thread so we should drop this or move it to another thread.

from that podcast: they have a figure, 100,000 people. they're not sure if that's per ark or for the whole initiative. the four council races each have an ark because each species has different life support needs. in the podcast they also mention "Dr Lexi", an asari who helps out in the beginning. maybe the asari we saw in the trailer onboard what looked like the human ark? Ah sorry for my double-posting. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Hmm... the Asari in green in the Hyperion.
One hundred K colonists per ARK would be awesome. Looks like Jen planned well with the Nexus acting /built as a colony admin centre among other duties.

Which is even more nonsensical. To suggest that there is nothing in the Milky Way or one of the satellite galaxies orbiting it, either the several dwarf galaxies or the two Magellanic Clouds, have any habitable planets akin to what is in the Helius Cluster of Andromeda is objectively stupid. Stop using word "objectively". Again, I stumble upon you using it in order to legitimize your ENTIRELY SUBJECTIVE opinion. He's entitled to his opinion. Please understand that. His statement could be reworded in a more diplomatic way, but then he wouldn't be Hanako. I have no problem with opinion - what I'm asking is for Hanako to acknowledge that some of the statements are just that: an opinion, and not use words that give it a pretense of *objective truth* or a *fact*. We're talking about theoretical scenarios in theoretical universes and we don't yet know all the facts about the game or story, so it's too early to start sneering at perceived "nonsense" in the plot. Not to mention that it's more than a little counter-productive.

From what I can recall, the asari's headpattern looked similar down to having the little star-like spots. I'm pretty sure it isn't PeeBee--they don't look that similar, to my eye at least. Besides, according to the Game Informer coverage, PeeBee arrived in Andromeda aboard the Nexus, rather than the Hyperion. Going by the same source, there's supposed to be an Asari named 'Dr Lexi' aboard the Hyperion at the start of the game--I would assume that's who we're looking at?

With a clear still image, I have to agree that it is likely not her. The color of the non-face part of her head seems too dark as does the color of her face. For comparison:

Wouldn't it be better to show us the character than say he has a cool hair?
Then the hair is not cool at all, people complain and then people complain people are complaining.

Expecially because they did talk about him in the coverage. I don't understand what they didn't give a shot of him without helmet. Hairs look pretty good so far though, hopefully it'll be like this for the whole game.

Tom Taylorson @taylorson Call Me "Ryder" if you like, but there are SCORES of people that make Ryder & the team. Not the least of which are the writers!
Tom Taylorson @taylorson One of the things that makes this gig a dream is the writing. It's a pleasure every time. And there are some scenes that are a privilege.

I want to hug him in a completely honest, non-creepy way.
Just kidding, I'd totally make it creepy.

Tom Taylorson @taylorson Call Me "Ryder" if you like, but there are SCORES of people that make Ryder & the team. Not the least of which are the writers! Tom Taylorson @taylorsonOne of the things that makes this gig a dream is the writing. It's a pleasure every time. And there are some scenes that are a privilege. ---- I want to hug him in a completely honest, non-creepy way. Just kidding, I'd totally make it creepy. Lick the ear-creepy? Or squeeze the butt-creepy? Just want to know what level of creepiness we're talking here... I've experienced both, tbh. Ick.
