I changed my attitude toward Morrigan over the time, from one of love to one of strong enmity. I cannot forgive someone who purposely concealed informations that concerned my life for the sole reason to use such knowledge in a kind of blackmail fashion at the eve of the battle, and on top of that even deserted and insulted the warden despite them being lovers.I came over-time to deeply despise her stated agenda of preserving the knowledge of the past which is undermined by the fact that she hordes secrets rather than share knowledge and cultural development doesn't need that. I hope that I will never see Morrigan in-screen ever again much less Kieren{who should be with me and not with her, woman who saw him just as a tool) as her character is now totally irredeemable to me,especially as i saw that she is still able to kill without mercy for power(see the Abelas killing) This is exactly the reason my first play-through and my Morrigan romance play-through didn't go through with the Dark Ritual. However Morrigan wants to see it (her banter to a romanced Warden who didn't go through with the Ritual during the Witch Hunt was grating), she was the one who kept things from someone she could possibly see as a sister or her love. And that, my characters could have forgiven, but the fact that she refuses to elaborate on the Ritual (why she was doing it!), even to the possible father of the child, is incredibly frustrating. I can role-play characters that will go through with the ritual, or get Alistair to, but I can't play a character that loved Morrigan and trusted her, and still decided to create a child with her knowing what she intended for it (or even worse, not knowing) and thinking that he could possibly never see her again. With all that said, I love Morrigan. I love how you could see how it pained her to leave the Warden like she did if you didn't go through with the ritual. I love that she came to the after battle party in her dog form. I love how she takes after Flemeth in many aspects, but decided to be the mother that Flemeth never was to her. She's a very nuanced character, and I've definitely played characters that don't like her, but for me, I think she's amazing! My Morrigan romance went through the Eluvian with her And in all fairness, Morrigan painted herself as a very selfish, morally gray character right from the get-go. It shouldn't come as a surprise that she's willing to kill Abelas in cold blood when only a decade prior she was all for you wiping out every mage from the tower in Ferelden because she thought them weak. Even as you discover her soft side in Origins there are red flags that she's keeping things from you and she pretty much admits to having her own agenda. Morrigan did see Kieran as a tool, but it's made apparent that that is no longer the case by Inquisition although I do sympathize with your Warden never being able to meet, or have Kieran for themselves, all because they decided not to continue a relationship with Morrigan.

I thought she was gone in Redcliffe but instead you say she was in a dog form somewhere?Even if that was the case a Warden with the ring was unable to sense her? Or maybe you are reffering to the dog in the chantry nearby Sten, but that looks like more those dogs the warden may have rescued in the Alienage rather than Morrigan wolf form.

Over the years I perceived an irreconcilable fracture among players in regard of Morrigan and particularly her Dark ritual.
-Those pro ritual who didn't really cared for Kieran nor for the security of the world,as long as they could have obtained the result they desired
-Those players who saw the option as well as the Morrigan character to be way too reckless.
The irony of the story is that just like in the Connor questline, the players that were tremendously punished were those less reckless.
In DAI the whole issue for the DR-runners appeared (at least to me) to have been sanitized with new set of rules created ad-hoc by the writers that did not even existed before (Flemeth being able to remove the soul without killing the host) and the darkspawns or Corypheus never being able to hear that old god soul.

This all comes down to taking an optional storyline and bringing it to a mandatory one. Now, regardless of whether the OGB ever existed, all of the power lies with Fen'Harel. If Mythal had the OGB, it went to him. If she didn't, he still has her power. Now they can just make slight tweaks to any plot involving Fen'Harel to reflect the OGB, but any plot about power can still happen since he has Mythal's power anyway (or so it seems). If they didn't do that, then the OGB could never play a significant role at all since there are a bunch of people who don't have him. It waters down the effect of that decision for sure, but I think it was just a streamlining decision, to be honest.
Also the DR doesn't make it possible to end the Blight. Merely to dodge the consequences of doing so but it does so at the cost of the Old God in charge continuing to exist. It might be that if its host gets Tainted, it becomes an Archdemon again. It might be that Solas now has it after the epilogue of Inquistion. It might even be that it's a threat on its own merits, without needing either. A Warden who eliminates these possibilities, even at the risk or cost of their own life, is following "whatever it takes" better than one who does the DR,that is a fact that will always remain regardless of the implementation of the consequences.

Not trust Morrigan with the power of the OGB is rather easy to justify given that her reaction to Caladrius trying to buy elves from you is "'tis a reasonable enough starting offer" and her general "might makes right" policy. No Ultimate Sacrifice is required at all, but not doing one makes her stronger.

Nah i prefer the money they are my only love interest and Leli the Divine has a lot of cash and powerful friends while Morrigan is a poor lone wolfwolf(can't even afford to buy a dress as Vertgomez said),plus she wanted to save an Archdemon soul (*shrug* by using me and an innocent child as tools)I would rather see her and Urthemiel be wiped out.

Morrigan need to say thanks to the shining plot armor they gave to her I don't want to attack Morrigan(sigh again..) Doing so would require her to return, and that is something that has happened far too many times already. I would rather she never appear again. If that means that she gets to retire to Plot Armor Palace on Writer's Pet Island, so be it, as long as she's gone,Bioware made it so that Morrigan survives everything you throw at her even in DAI. I think that's enough of a concession. To force us to see her again....ugh no.

Morrigan's whole "I want to preserve stuff just for the sake of preserving it, even if it might have some terrible consequences for myself" is actually one of the weakest aspects of her character. Going back to the end of Origins and the Dark Ritual scene(I've always refused it), that very much plays out as if Morrigan had some kind of motive for doing that beyond simply preserving the soul of an Old God to just have for the sake of having. So just reducing all of her character motivations down to her wanting to be repository of ancient knowledge just for the sake of knowledge seems kind of bland to me.
So when you get to Inquisition and she wants to slurp up the Well of Sorrows... just because? Which actually kind of grated on me when you do it where she has a kid because it just sort of makes Morrigan look real short sighted, naive and selfish. Which is likely the point given her sort of comeuppance with respect to being bound to Mythal/Flemeth in that case. But I don't know what other ominous warnings they could possibly have tossed in about the Well of Sorrows having some big catch to it and yet Morrigan jumps right in anyway. Seemingly when she didn't even know what the thing was about 30 minutes before you got to the Temple. At that point, I think there is a fine line between wanting to have this philosophical, high minded desire to preserve any and all ancient knowledge and maybe exercising the slightest bit of discretion when you possibly have a kid and lover/husband to think about and you presumably have very little idea what you're jumping into.
Then what confused me about the Morrigan and Flemeth reunion scene is after you leave the Eluvian, and Morrigan says "she wanted the Old God soul all along", and I'm thinking to myself, well duhhh, that's why she gave you the ritual and told you to follow the Warden in the first place? Did you forget? Then she says she doesn't know what Flemeth intends to do with it, and I'm even further baffled. Well, why did you want the OGS? Did she not give you any further instructions beyond, "make sure you seduce that warden and get laid with him so you can get prego and get that Soul".
I just think that Inquisition basically revealing that Morrigan had no grand plan all along and was just accumulating power/knowledge for no particular reason is rather anticlimactic and even retroactively makes the Dark Ritual choice seem even more banal, knowing that not only nothing comes of it but that seemingly Morrigan didn't have much of a real thought out plan for it either.

Taking my Morriganmance through Inquisition right now. What a trip! I don't understand the rationale behind some of her decision-making, especially since she's got Kieran to worry about. And it seems like she's very much into the idea that the world shouldn't be "mundane" - which is weird, considering her lover could very well be a regular ol' non-mage? I don't know. Something about her characterization seems... off. Time has passed and she's changed, but I feel like her survival of the fittest mentality has transformed into a magic-or-bust mentality? But anyway, I really do enjoy her presence at the war table and I liked watching her turn into a dragon. Because dragons. Taarsidath-an halsaam. Also poor Kieran doesn't look very much like a half-dwarf, but he's still pretty cute.

You can tell her you'll kill Flemeth but when you get to her hut you can let her go into hiding and tell Morrigan you killed her ...if you're a horrible person. I actual did talk to Flemeth and made the deal that she would disappear, then went to Morrigan and told her Flemeth swore to not follow her. Morrigan will leave you if you tell her the truth and failed the check to lie to her. Had to reload Best option is to slay Flemeth, IMHO.

I love both Morrigan and Leliana equally. So I always have a hard time choosing which one to romance. I love how ice cold Morrigan is in the beginning, but she begins to warm up to you after she gives you the ring.

I'm not very fond of Morrigan's speech habits. "Tis", "t'was", "overlong", "overmuch". Come on, nobody talks like that. Gaider tried way, waaay too hard to make her sound smart.
Despite the HoF's praise in that letter (DAI), Morrigan isn't wise. She is knowledgeable, which is very different.
