What's the fastest way to get the points prestige up and to get Hakkon value? Did lots of NM castle runs with no success As someone who has been grinding away for awhile, I can share what I know and then the pros can chime in. 1. As far as I know, defeating Nightmare dragons gives you the highest percentage chance of a Hakkon drop regardless of prestige/gold accumulated. But the percentage goes down with every Hakkon you get. 15% chance for the first, 7% chance for the second, 5% chance for the third, 2% chance for the fourth, 1% chance for the fifth. Keep in mind, these are not guaranteed drops. 15% chance of a Hakkon means 85% chance you WON'T get a Hakkon on each run. I know some people who have done hundreds of Nightmare runs without a Hakkon drop. I am one of them. 2. I believe there is a 1% chance of a Hakkon drop by beating the commander on wave 5 of Nightmare (a non-dragon run). 3. Once you have accumulated enough gold and bought enough chests (I think you need to reach 1.7 million in gold spent), you gain a 1% chance of getting a Hakkon or other higher tier weapon from a chest (either bought from the store or in a treasure room). But again, 1% chance of success means 99% chance of failure. So it's not so much about prestige points as much as gold accumulated/spent. 4. Good ways to accumulate gold and prestige? Get a solid group together, with at least one mage, one rogue and one warrior, who are willing to open every chest and smash every pot. Then keep running through the Orlesian Chateau on perilous (best gold/experience combo for speed runs in my experience). And ALWAYS promote your characters once they reach level 20. I think this is the main way to get that prestige score up. 5. Try not to get hung up on getting the best weapon. Hakkon's are among the most damaging weapons, but there are others that are very powerful and have fun effects. Keep playing, keep collecting gold, keep promoting, keep having fun and some sort of higher tier weapon will drop eventually. And your damage output is going to go up as you continue to promote regardless of weapon used, particularly promoting rogues for increased cunning and mages for increased willpower. Check out this thread from people who know a lot more about it than me :-) bsn.boards.net/post/163554/thread

It'll be a very long and tedious grind if pursuing hakkon weapons is your sole goal. Some of the characters are easier to grind promotions with(Arcane warrior, lego, silent sister, saarebas), but do not limit your options to them. Have fun in trying out different agents of various builds and playing with a good group. Good weapons/ promotions come along anyway. Do not forget to keep an eye on the golden Nug and protect Inquisition Captain when you can.

LOOT You have a hidden 'loot score' based on the item cards you have collected. Items (not potions) in both the store chests and dungeon chests. Basically there are different tiers, with 10000 items being the highest loot bucket. Noone is really sure of what the tier brackets are (I assume blocks of 1000 but who the hell knows) You need 800+ item loot score before the Hakkon weapons have a chance of dropping from the Nightmare and Heartbreaker dragons (possibly bugged as people have started new characters and gotten Hakkons fairly quickly) Have fun in trying out different agents of various builds and playing with a good group. Good weapons/ promotions come along anyway. Do not forget to keep an eye on the golden Nug and protect Inquisition Captain when you can. All true. As far as I know there's no secrets or tricks to get any specific weapons. 'Full class team + proper difficulty + COINS + fun' is the fastest way. I was one of five-members of hakkon searching rookies until quite recently. We all got our first hakkon around 60/60/60 stats, and we were all about to achieve first star of the 'banker' challenge. And three of us got their first hakkon from store chest not from dragon. Only 2 people (including me) got it from NM dragon. So, really, no need to care too much about NM dragons. Play enjoyable difficulty games. NM without enough level and stats is too stressful experience. Like teethalmighty and 3y3vr3 said, gears and promotions will come along eventually. I wish you good luck!

The hakkon items arent that great tbh, i have the bow and dagger, and i think the bow of artifice better bow for low promotions, and besides, when there's heart of pride why use hakkon staff? Also is there heart of rage in the game? i really liked that staff in singleplayer...

Aside from some very good procs and upgrade slot(s), it's mainly the 100% critical damage bonus of hakkons that makes them the most powerful weapons in the game. You'll see the difference once your critical chance goes up. But I always use Heart of Pride on saarebas for faster cast speed. Tried hakkon staff on her a few times. Don't like it. Still feels too slow even with rings. There is no Heart of rage in MP. It would be nice if there were though.

Don't be discouraged by lack of Hakkons. For me the first one I got after 185 Nightmare runs, happened to get it after a perilous run just through store chest, second I got months later after hopping into the end of a nightmare dragon run, third came even a few months after that. By my estimate I've ran about 700 nightmares and will stop trying to count how many and have collected 2.6 million gold towards banker. Even without the hakkons I had a lot of fun playing at least 8 of the characters on perilous and nightmare, the hakkons just made nightmare a little more survivable for the squishier characters.
To me the best and most enjoyable part of the game has been the party chats I've participated in. And when there is no one around or I'm pugging, music on Spotify is always good. Hakkons are pretty amazeballs, but there are many other items in game that make it fun. So grind, grind, grind away and feel free to splurge and celebrate via forum when you do catch your first Hakkon!

You get used to the slower casting times until you dont even notice anymore. Totally worth it. The Hakkon Bow is awesome. One of the best weapons in the game.

With Hakkon, nothing is left alive to need faster casting. Try it out. Guess it just depends of you are playing support or DPS.

As a support I like that HoP + rings enables me to do one or two AB finisher between barriers. For pure DPS I enjoy wearing inferno pact belt on Sarrebas now. Not really a big difference whether I'm using hakkon or HoP on NM and below. Nothing is left alive after a combination of Leap finisher and AB opener.(except the ones immune to fire ) Maybe I should try inferno belt + hakkon in HB when I have the chance.

It is hard to get used to the slower casting times. Things that were always slow to cast, like the AB finisher, seem to take forever. I swear the Saarebas throws her arms in the air and just sits there for a second or two before actually doing the cast without HoP.

I swear the Saarebas throws her arms in the air and just sits there for a second or two before actually doing the cast without HoP. That's the exact reason I took hakkon off her after giving it a few tries. I had rings then but still AB finisher felt unbearably slow...Leap finisher was not too slow to cast though. That's why I'm planning to try Inferno belt + hakkon and mostly do the Leap finisher + AB opener combo.
