So if you're a fan of the old film and are hyped about the new one well look no further. A trailer about the new Blade Runner 2049 was just released Release date 10/06/2017 - 6 October 2017
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
It will have Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford as protagonists. Starring in the film: Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto Executive Producer: Ridley Scott (he is well known) Director: Denis Villeneuve (director of Prisoners, Sicario, & Arrival)
I'm hyped! And you?

Doesn't look bad but its not nearly enough information for me to start hyperventilating just yet. I'm not a huge fan of Gosling though, but I guess he will....suffice.
What DOES make me happy is the recent shift towards the Sci-Fi genre in the movie industry, thats a good thing.

Can't say I like any film Gosling has done so far but I keep an open mind on this. I really like that Ridley Scott and Villeneuve are directing the film. We shall see. I have great expectations. Agreed on the sci-fi focus. I can't get enough sci-fi.

There's one thing I hope the film answers...
Is Gosling going to eat his cereal this time? LMAO!

The original came out the year I was born and while I like Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer, I much prefer Ana de Armas, Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto. I am looking forward to this.

Looks cool, not sure about the somewhat post-apocalyptic undertone. Makes sense--in the original movie, the world was going down that path with environmental catastophie and a lack of natural resources. Hell, if I remember right, the rich and decadent were leaving Earth entirely, leaving the poor to survive on Earth, and the Replicants were originally designed as deep space miners to gain new resources for the planet. Anyway, it's definitely a good tease -- evocative of the original while telling its own thing. I'm not sold on it, but I'm definitely interested in seeing more.

Hollywood just cant leave anything well enough alone We're living in the age of fan pandering. Better get used to it. As for me, at least I know there's still a lot of good material out there inspired by great movies of the past that I missed out on. Like Snatcher on the Sega CD which looks heavily inspired by Blade Runner, as many things were. Click Spoiler tag for a few more image comparisons;
