I wrote another moment to Ralph Hawke's back story (red blood mage, Anders, friendship). (I like the dialogues, just like you, Slyvalyth ) Malcolm and Ralph... and poor Bethany between them: The lunch after the Sermon, started quietly, as usual. But when Leandra stood up and went to the kitchen for the roast, Ralph turned to Malcolm and continued their debate. "I was right! They shouldn't speak about us like this!" "Ralph, what happened to you? Cannot do this! You must be careful! Can not attack everyone who says wrong about the mages!" "About us, father! And what happened?! Did you not hear? Did you not see? That fucking bitch frightened Bethany with her damned superstition about us!" "Not again, not now, and… not 'fucking bitch' –", Malcolm tried to hide his proud smile when he looked at his son, and stay rigorous. " 'revered mother' the term you look for... Ralph don't---" "Yes, quieter, they'll hear it... ", Ralph snapped, "Well, just hear it! They must hear it! I don't fear from them, I don't fear anything! Eh, I know... just... you'll go away again, for work, and I'll face Bethany's fears!" "You should too", Malcolm said quietly, "but especially for sake of Bethany, you have to be careful!" Malcolm looked at Bethany, who concentrated on her plate look very busy to spoon the soup. "Do not endanger her! Do not endanger us all! I try to keep us safe, Ralph, and for it, need many compromises, I hope, you'll see too, as soon as is possible. Don't be an idiot, my son, you're smarter like that!" Leandra came in with the food. "...Ralph, I heard, you... and the neighbor girl… Peachy... you tried to kiss her, you not?" "That was not exactly how it happened...she tr..., mom, she's just a friend, nothing more." Malcolm looked at his son, smiling. "That girl is beautiful---" "Yes, Peachy is undoubtedly beautiful...", Ralph smirked. "I wish she would have a brother.", added, and continued looking on Leandra: "Don't change the subject, mom", then turned back to Malcolm. "Yes, father, compromises, safety – how much should we swallow yet? Where’s your limit in the tolerance? Anyway, I will not let anyone scare Bethany!" Ralph angrily got up from the table, but Malcolm grasped his arm."And I'll not let you endanger her –us!– with your thoughtlessness, young man!" Bethany spooned the soup in silence. Carver kicked her ankle under the table, but she ignored now... She just wished to disappear. Nice job Catilina! I feel for Bethany because she's caught kind of in the middle. As a father, Malcolm is very relatable as the person who wants to keep the peace but you added a great subtle touch that he would rather be like Ralph by hiding his smile. Now I need to know who is this revered mother that Ralph is upset about

Now I need to know who is this revered mother that Ralph is upset about She's just an idiot bigot old crow, who speaks nonsense about the mages, but able to frighten a ten-year-old girl. That revered mother not in the game. It happened in Lothering, before the Blight. ("Headcanon!") According to the conversations, Hawke's nature like his/her father's. So, Malcolm here is a calmed-down red!Hawke, who tries to keep his family safe against a hostile world, and a hot-headed son. It complicates things so that he rather agree with his son...

Ah yes, there are people out there that fear mages and don't go out of their way in really know them as people that has the same blood coursing through their veins. Going back to Ralph's character sheet to read through the diary entries. Very interesting.

In DA2 it never ceases to crack me up how Fenris changes sides. It's like no way am I helping blood mages. Hawke: Join me. Fenris: I have changed my mind. See ya Meredith. Hey, Hawke's argument beats everything: "I suppose dying with you at my side is too much to ask?" – who would able to resist? Catilina, I just finished Ralph's diary. I encourage you to write more. It is such a rich backstory you've written for Ralph through diary entries - an ingenious idea.

Slyvalyth Not that easy without playing that games, indeed. By the way today I wrote a little past story to Ralph Hawke again. Not finished yet, and this is not canon, but not even impossibile. Ralph met with Aedan Cousland, when escorted his father to a work. 9.27, Dragon – Cousland Castle, Highever.Ralph stood with his arms folded and watched the sword training. "So, he's the son of Bryce Cousland, teyrn of Highever... Impressive!", he thought. "The guy is quite skilful – leastwise compared to a pampered nobleman..."The young Cousland was circa the same age as Ralph, slightly lower, and slender but almost as muscular. His upper body was naked, honey-coloured hair reached his strong shoulder. Ralph enjoyed the view. "Impressive!", murmured repeatedly. His eyes strayed to the young man's bottom... "Hmm... Eh, stop daydream, apostate!", sighed, but could not take his eyes off him. And at this moment the young lord noticed Ralph – and failed the move. Apparently, he was embarrassed. Ralph suddenly looked away and smirked. "Perhaps, that daydream can continue..."
The training stopped. The red-haired guy, the young lord training partner, came to him. "Lord Cousland wait for you." * "I noticed that you have been very interested in our exercise. Aedan Cousland... and you're Hawke... son of my father's hired mercenary." "Ralph Hawke, mercenary, yes... but not your father's... Your Lordship", nodded mockingly. "I just watched you... Nice movement, but I noticed some weak points of your tactic."Aedan's eyes narrowed. He looked at Ralph challengingly. "Let's see what can you show with a sword, dagger... or?""Sword. Rules?""No rules, just play. To the first blood."* "You won. Tricky rogue...""I never lose. I do not know how to" Ralph smirked, "and mage , just like my father", grabbed Aedan's hand. "Stand up, Your Lordship, they'll think, I killed you, such a shame...""C'mon, we should take a bath, and drink something ... we can continue there."* Aedan wrapped his arms around him and looked into his eyes. "You should not fear anymore, hiding anymore!""You don't understand. I don't fear from anyone. I just hate it. And I would even if I would be safe. My answer again: no. You don't have to help me – and you drank too much... C'mon, let's have some fun.""Every mage so proud? I offered a work. You're skilled. More like many of our guard, not mentioned your secret abilities... Be my personal bodyguard!""You don't even know me. In the morning, we have to go. But until that, we have much time..."* It was in the late morning when he woke up. "Here's the breakfast", Aidan pointed to the table. "And a letter... or something, for you, I suppose... oh my head... what a night!""Indeed! Pity, it's over...!” Ralph stood up, stepped behind Aedan, and put his arm around him. "Show it!""Ralph, we left at early dawn, so, I didn't want to wake up you. We'll enough for it. The work is boring – I don't expect complications. I watched you in the afternoon. I've not seen you so happy for a long time. Enjoy it, young man! We'll be back soon. Father"
Ralph sighed and absently crumpled the letter into his purse. "So, we have time, if you want...""Be my guest, at least until your father comes back."* Days have passed since they arrived at Cousland Castle, one after the other, unnoticedly. Ralph was grateful to his father for these days. Aedan was beautiful, fun and an excellent lover. For a while he forgot everything. Highever was wonderful at this stage of autumn. The sun, as would gather its last power, covered the trees in an unbelievably sharp light, and the dawn fog faded. Strange mood. They rode in the forest. "Nathaniel Howe... Howe... Arl of Amarantine, isn't he?""Rendon Howe is the Arl, father's friend. I never trusted him, I have a bad feeling... he's like a snake, I wish, I'm wrong... But Nathaniel, his son, oh my! Many times I watched him when they were our guest. Deep-voiced, serious, I couldn’t figure out if he's really able to joke at all, yet, he was funny sometimes. Not a classical beauty, absolutely not. Not like you", Aedan looked at Ralph shyly. "But when he tensed his bow the muscles were dancing on his back. I have not seen him for years. Last time we met I was in love –at least, I thought–, and he patted my shoulder and called me 'big boy', then asked me, where is Fergus... Can you imagine that? My heart was broken”, Aedan said with theatrical sadness on his face, then suddenly laughed loudly. "Stupid thing... Your turn!""Wait, wait... wait... you said, I'm a classi---""Forget it!" Aedan blushed. "So, I'm not"? Ralph laughed at Aedan's confusion. Aedan looked at him and speeded up his horse. "Oh, fuck, I’m a prick", Ralph sighed, and followed Aedan. "Wait," yelled, "I didn’t want to… I---"."Hoo!" Aedan stopped the horse and dismounted. "We're here. My favourite place."* Late night they came back to the Castle. A group of people stood beside the stables. Mercenaries. "Father came back.", Ralph was happy and dejected at the same time. A day or two and they go home... Ralph missed Beth. And even Carver. And the mother's reproachful gaze – and her proud smile. And the continuous debates with his dad – probably these missed the most. He smiled and sighed – back to everyday life. Aedan stepped behind Ralph and put his arm around him. "They're back", he smiled but did not look happy. Ralph turned and looked at him. He was suddenly saddened. A day or two and he leaves Highever – leaves Aedan. "I'm still here, yet." Yet... yes.. smiled, and kissed Aedan. "Don't worry!" It turned to his mind to stay... dismissed the thought... but what about, if coming back? Later... who knows? Yes. He felt better. "Don't worry!", repeated. "I don't see my father, probably already went to sleep. Come, let's follow his example – okay, not necessarily need to sleep...""Hawke! … You're Hawke, yes?" A man started toward them from the group. Ralph stopped, suddenly something bad feeling flooded him. His stomach clenched. I just wanted to continue one of my Inquisitor's adventure, but this happened instead.

Is this scenario before or after Hawke meets Anders? As I was working through my choices in Dragon Keep, I made my male mage (purple) Hawke join the smugglers and in love with Fenris I was thinking of writing in a distant relation with the Cousland line for my new inquisitor as well, lol. I want to surprise you with Lucian's backstory. It's still fermenting in my mind right now.

I want to surprise you with Lucian's backstory. It's still fermenting in my mind right now. Four years before they met, and three years before Blight – the beginning of DAO and DA2. Hawke, in fact, related to Amell (human Circle Mage Origin), Leandra, Hawke's mother is an Amell, her cousin, Revka's son/daughter. Hawke's father died in 9.27. I just thought about, which way fits him, and I figured, the mercenary way is the best. And why Ralph becomes that man, who's he now, in DA2. It's interesting journey, I never tried before to write a background.

I love it! Great moment of inspiration and as always...titillating . Four years before they met, and three years before Blight – the beginning of DAO and DA2. I just thought about, which way fits him, and I figured, the mercenary way is the best. And why Ralph becomes that man, who's he now, in DA2. It's interesting journey, I never tried before to write a background. LOL, of course it has to be before Anders. How quickly I forget the very first choice I had to make under DAO in Dragon Keep. I'll eventually play the game. It is fun to solve a large puzzle, making their characters even more richer.

I tried to continue my red!Hawke's background story. Part 1 herePart 2:Ralph stopped, suddenly something bad feeling flooded him. His stomach clenched."Yes?"
The man put a purse into his hand. "Take this. For your father's work... and for your loss...", said, turned back and left.
Ralph just stood and looked on the purse in his hand. "Why..." Then he looked up slowly and yelled. "Hey, hey! When will he be back? Did he say something? A short message? What... what happened?" whispered. "Fuck yourself!" Shouted and slammed his fist into the wall.
An older mercenary approached him. He put his hands on Ralph's shoulders. "This is yours, young man."
Ralph shivered, Malcolm calls him 'young man'. He turned and looked at the warrior. Selif. He had known his father for a long time. If he could name someone as his father's friend, he was this one. He also fought on his side.
Selif handed a stained letter to him. "He didn't want you to come with us."
"Yes. He wrote it's a boring job... or... he lied...! Where is my father?" Ralph grabbed him. "Where is he, Selif?"
"We... I left the body...", Selif whispered and looked down.
Ralph stared at him, and shook him. "Body?" Hissed. "What happened, spit out!"
"Listen to me, young man!" The mercenary lifted his head and freed himself from the grip. His eyes flashed. "Your father will not come back", shouted, then continued a little bit calmer. "Someone betrayed us and we got an ambush. Malcolm said, he will cover us with magic, it worked not once already you know, but not now. After a few steps I turned and saw, there are a few Templars. One of them blocked his magic, and the other shot him in the back. I killed the archer and distracted his companions, while Malcolm tried to heal himself. One of them noticed it and blocked again. I could not prevent it. But your father seems invigorated, and frozen them. It was a quick battle, most of them died, the others ran away. Malcolm, however, seemed completely exhausted... He died in my hand."
Ralph looked at him with rage in his eyes "You... you was not able to save him... but..."
"You blame me..., don't worry, lad, I understand"
"No, you don't. Why he did it? Why alone? Just for that fucking job? It's worth to die for it?"
"Not for that fucking job, but for his, and our family. For your mother, your sister and brother. And for you."
"We didn't ask for it... Eh, forget it! I know. I just... he didn't trust me enough to tell me. He lied to me... to protect me? But I could have defended him. I could have stopped the Templars. But I was not there. He did not let me be there!" Ralph turned his head aside and slammed his fist into the wall. His eyes blurred.

I continued my red!Hawke's background story. Part 1-2 here"Read the letter lad. You know where you can find me if you have a question. It's better I leave you alone now", Selif said, patted his shoulder, looked at Aedan meaningly, and left.
*
"Aedan! ... fuck..." Ralph looked up and sighed. Aedan still was there – he was now heading toward him, and slowly came to him.
"Your hand... why do not you heal it?"
"I want to feel the pain. I don't feel anything right now. Just anger." He wanted to feel something. Anything else. He looked at Aedan. "I have to pack, tomorrow I’ll go home."
They walked slowly inward.
"I... don’t know, what I can say." Aedan bowed his head. "I’m sorry. I feel… my father---"
"It was just… a work… like the others… It happened we lost someone. But now… and I was not there..."
"Do you blame yourself? Don’t do it, Ralph, I’m sure, your father wouldn’t want to blame yourself."
Ralph looked into his eyes. "Yes, he would not want me to blame myself. I'm angry ... at him ... Do you understand? Why he did lie? Why didn’t trust me? I gave him a reason…? And… at me... I was happy while he ... Eh, forget it! Nobody... or just that fucking traitor to blame – probably we'll never know, who was... This is the part of our job... I know. But I do not feel better about it. And I have to face with Beth, Carver, and my mother… and to tell them, I let him die because he didn’t trust me enough." He took Aedan’s hand. "Leave me now please, I’ll read the letter. I'll join you later."
* Ralph left alone. Entered the room, sat down and slowly smoothed the crumpled paper. His father's well-known, elegant handwriting danced before his eyes. He had to concentrate to sort the letters in rows.
"Ralph, No! Don't destroy Highever, please, and I hope you didn't kill Selif."
Malcolm's voice echoed in his head. Ralph responded to the echo. "Still? Even now? Father, what do you think about me...? Why I would...? Eh... you're right... as always... almost always...I never told you…" Sighed. "So, you’re right... I attacked him like a madman. But don't worry, Highever still stands, and Selif alive and well."
"Listen to me, young man, at least now. I know, you're angry and believe me, I understand. I lied to you and left you. You feel I don't trust you---"
"Of course, I’m, what did you expect?" Ralph grumbled, but continued.
"---this is true (yes, true!) and not true. You're hot-headed, reckless unbridled and wild. I was scared for you first, remember? But in battle, you proved, you can use your anger. You're a good fighter. So, yes, I'm sure, it would have been a good decision if I bring you with us. That was not the reason."
Ralph lifted his head from the paper. "Well, do you recognized finally, better late than never, yes, father? So, let’s see, why did you lie?"
"I decided not to take you with me, because Leandra, Bethany and Carver can't lose both of us. Especially Bethany! She's smart, talented and strong – as a mage. But she often sad. She smiles, but... I saw, you always understood her better... She looks up at you, and you can always make her laugh. I know she just wants to be normal. I understand her. I was afraid, your rudeness will deter her. But when she with you, she's happy and confident."
"Yes, because I don't treat her as a fragile flower."
"But... can I trust you? I'm afraid, you step to the wrong way (do not debate, listen!) I saw those books you read. PLEASE, DON'T DO IT. Tempting, but never worth it! And keep away from Bethany! Did you understand, young man? This is my last request. Keep her, our family safe! Now, I should go. Maker bless you, my son! Father"
Ralph rubbed his eyes. He grabbed the bottle on the table and took a gulp, then shook his head. "Yes, father, you... you fool! No one of us should have died if I was there! But... I'll protect them. I will not disappoint you. I swear." The drink was strong. He looked at the bottle and emptied it. "It would have been too difficult to say it, isn't, father?" He smiled bitterly. And now, Aedan is waiting for him. It's time to say goodbye. Tomorrow, he'll have to leave. Still not finished... I was a fool to started that...

Take your time and enjoy the writing process. I can't tell you how many weeks now that I'm still writing for one section of the Western Approach. Well, there's many pictures that I worked on as well but coming up with dialog is a long process. You're doing well!

wow...that was...interesting I finished Act of Mercy just now, picking an option I normally don't pick generally I have Varric cover for Hawke when talking to Karras, or have a sarcastic Hawke who can cover for themselves but this time, I played a Diplomatic Hawke...and didn't have Varric, so...Karras turned on us so yeah...that bastard is dead...Thrask wasn't very happy about the ah...bloodbath we made, but eh *shrugs* seeing the way things headed, it's not a huge loss (I still wish there was a way to safe Thrask from Grace during Act 3, he was a nice guy ) I have just a handful of quests left, and have nearly 100 sovereigns, so plenty of gold to pay Bartrand and still have plenty left over Oh, how I love to kill Karras (and after that rogue Templar who wants to revenge him)! Many suicide Templars. Ralph loved them! All of them asked him to kill them. He was not able to say not. (Poor Thrask, yes...) And Ralph sent Feynriel to the Sabre clan, and in Act2, he met with the Templars, who tortured an elf hunter and wanted to attack the clan for Feynriel. It was a pleasure to kill them.

he escapes without anyone having a clue as to how he did it or where he went, leaving the Templars to scratch their heads I just didn't play a Hawke who was able to send anyone to that awful place, after Karl's case (excluding the "Exotic Wonder"). They thought this place is like its name. They were always free, no one of them was able to imagine such a place – and didn't even wanted that. But I agree, it's very interesting, how easily escape the mage from this place... these Templars not just criminals, but very stupid as well – absolutely unsuitable to protect anyone...

If it helps, there are siblings who absolutely not, or just a bit alike. That's not even too rare, depends on many things. Genetics is weird. There are siblings who are like they are not even relatives. It depends on many things. For example on the grandparents' genes. And Leandra is blue-eyed, Carver is blue, Bethany is brown eyed, like default Garrett, but Marian is blue-eyed. So: Malcolm probably brown-eyed, because two blue-eyed people rarely have brown eyed child (but still, not totally excluded: mutation, etc...). Also: Malcolm's look depends on you, just like Malcolm's personality. Accoding the game, Hawke's personality similar to Malcolm's. Blue Hawke's Malcolm is diplomatic/nice, purple Hawke's Malcolm's funny, while red Hawke's Malcolm is red too. doh why didn't I think of that? I had a classmate in the past who also had very strange family genes. His father had dark hair and curls, his mom and sister both had straight blond hair, and he himself had red hair and curls. One of my uncles as well, he has/had red hair (he's grey now), his wife has black hair...all his daughters (three of them) have red hair in varying shades and his son has the same dark hair as his wife I myself as well...my mom had blond hair with some red shine (due to red hair in the family) my dad had dark brown/black hair, both me and my brother have dark blond/light brown hair and let's not even talk about eye colors Though, I always thought default Garrett had amber colored eyes (or maybe that's due to one of the mods I have) for hair color it's a bit harder though, since we never see Malcolm and we don't know what color Leandra had. Though one of them likely had very dark hair due to the twins always having black hair
I was thinking of changing up the appearance for my Cousland anyway (changing her red hair to light brown), I could give my Hawke red brown hair (there's one shade in the CC that kind of looks like burgundy, not sure if that shade is in Inquisition but I'll just change it to the darkest red one in there) I like having varied appearances between my characters I also want different ones, but I don't think it succeeded always: Wilhelm Hawke, Georg Hawke bsn.boards.net/post/3464Stefan Hawke: bsn.boards.net/post/77230, bsn.boards.net/post/98168Reinhardt Hawke: bsn.boards.net/post/144044, bsn.boards.net/post/1187913Ralph Hawke: bsn.boards.net/post/644776, bsn.boards.net/post/915647

I kinda miss having the toolset for DA2, it's so much easier to make different looking faces in Origins and Inquisition imo. the CC for DA2 is a bit limited, even with use of mods...but I'm managing
for my new Hawke I've finally settled on dark red hair and amber eyes (as I said in my earlier post I plan on changing my Warden's hair color to brown)
to be honest, I'm really looking forward to this playthrough, because despite the fact she'll be my canon one I have a few different things planned (such as romancing Anders)

(And I like to use the first model, because of I love Carver's look there, with Reinhardt I used the second one? Or third? I can't remember.
Good luck with your canon, I hope, you'll be satisfied with the result!

today Ailith started in Act 2, talking to her companions and getting a few quests done
I've so far done Night Terrors (rescuing Feynriel and allowing him to leave for Tevinter
in Act 1 I send him to the Circle because imo. it makes for a more interesting story, mostly because the Templars have no idea how he got away I braved the Fade with just Anders in my party, it's interesting to do it this way, because the only way for him to 'betray' you is if you actively turn against Justice by siding with Torpor
after that we met a new friend, Sebastian...who apparently needed our help to meet with the family that had murdered his family (why does this sound familiar?) turns out this family (the Harriman family) had been controlled by a demon which has turned them against Sebastian's parents. it's funny how Elthina tries to sway him away from vengeance, only for his next line to completely overrule her wishes and ask Hawke's help for killing people Ailith: (purple option) this is why the cycle of violence is never broken <img text=" " alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/uJDSFxTaceXHJgvOKqTG.png">
Ailith also increased her relationship with Fenris, giving him a book as a present...turns out he can't read, 'cause apparently Danarius didn't need someone to read him back his notes or whatever no big deal, Ailith is a patient teacher, she'll teach him even when I'm not romancing Fenris (generally when I play a male Hawke) I make a point of picking the heart option to make the offer, I think it's a nice gesture even if not in a relationship with him
We ended the day with wiping out another gang, and tracking down Gascard duPuis (Ailith let him go...probably not the best idea )
tomorrow I think I'll tackle Fenris' companion quest, and head to the Wounded Coast to clear out some things there as well, just for starters anyway I'll likely also do the Legacy dlc tomorrow My two Hawke turned on Justice with different reasons. Both in love with Anders (while the romance didn't start yet, only the flirt). The one is my reaver/berserker warrior: he (almost) let Torpor trick him, he sealed their business, while was horrified, he hurt Anders, but still was under the sloth demon's influence, and just at the end he sobered and killed the sloth demon. He didn't even know, what happened to Anders. He was ashamed and horrified by his own weakness. He hadn't told to Anders the whole truth for a long time. This was his worst experience, but not vain: he thinks, he understands the mages better, and... this is the Harrowing? The other was my lovely maleficar: he wanted to play with the sloth, he knew, he can trick it. His pride didn't let Justice interfere with his business, because he knows what he does, he doesn't need any advice. But didn't count with Justice's reaction. He regretted his stubbornness, and immediately killed Torpor, and promised himself, he will not deal with demons (at least if Anders' there). Fortunately, Anders was both forgiven and willing to continue the flirt. Seemed he wanted to forgive, he was happy, he did it – while he said it will be hard to forget, when Hawke's struck him.) If Hawke let the sloth to possess Feynriel or let Anders believe, s/he did it, Anders refuses to flirt with Hawke, or if they're already in romance, he breaks up immediately. (This is the only reason he breaks up with Hawke.) It was a good choice in RP view, and Anders' conversation about his and Justice's relationship, how him and Justice feel in their situation was very interesting.

My two Hawke turned on Justice with different reasons. Seemed he wanted to forgive, he was happy, he did it – while he said it will be hard to forget, when Hawke's struck him.) If Hawke let possess Feynriel or let Anders believe, s/he did it, Anders refuses to flirt with Hawke, or if they're already in romance, he breaks up immediately. (This is the only reason he breaks up with Hawke.) It was a good choice in RP view, and Anders' conversation about his and Justice's relationship, how him and Justice feel in their situation was very interesting. The more I'm playing Ailith, the more she's starting to turn into a light version of Anders,
the other day I came across a tumblr post that I found very interesting link , when I read it I was like 'that's how I feel!', so I read the post and blinked, then read it again and the more I think about it, the more it starts making sense
my Hawke Ailith is as I said above, starting to become more pro-mage as I continue playing (which is funny since she romances Fenris (opposites attract and all that ) but yeah, I think she might be the first Hawke I've made who actually agrees with Anders during the Act3 climax, generally my Hawke's spare him but don't agree with his actions...but I think it'll be fun to have a Hawke who actively supports him

S/He perhaps sacrifices everything, but willingly, for the freedom. What is heroic, if not that? My main romance is Anders and if DA2 have any "happy end", then this is. And I admit, I fond of happy end. They ride to the sunset through the rainbow, and continues their fight. I'm so romantic... Fenris's romance is different, if Hawke doesn't force to kill him, or doesn't support the slavery, Fenris' romance one of the happiest romances in the whole series. No matter Mages or Templars, he wants to stay on Hawke's side. Fenris's romance about healing and trust. Anders' romance a passionate run: we will be free or dead. Together. And perhaps sometime we will find our peace.

LadyofNemesis My Reinhardt is a purple/red reaver/berserker, two-handed warrior, and it fits his story (I wrote a ficlet, how he tried to understand and help Anders/Justice based on his experiences. Yes, crazy idea, but I love that crazy "deadly or dead" warrior.) But it depends on what you want: If you want a tank-type, this isn't like that. ___ About that mage Hawke makes sense or not: It just depends on your imagination. I was fine about my mage Hawkes. But my HC, they were mercenary, and like that, they were able to fight without magic. And just think about Gascard DuPuis... Meredith didn't care... (By the way Gascard DuPuis: You asked, who let him alive: Ralph my red blood mage did. Gascard left after the battle, and Ralph never saw him again. He didn't care. His death wouldn't have able to bring back his mother. He never really thought about him until DuPuis sent a letter later, he gave up his magic, and sent an amulet in the letter.)

I think I might try to play a Berserker, not so sure about Templar though...I mean, I know Carver is one regardless of whether he's a Warden or actually joined the Order makes me wonder if a fellow Warden taught him the skills the same way Alistair can do for the Warden as for Reaver...yeah, as I said none of my character's are really into that whole 'let's do blood rituals/sacrifices' kind of thing (though I did at one point have a necromancer in Guild Wars 2, and one in Skyrim )
and while I agree that mage Hawke makes sense, often there are so many plot holes I just can't really justify them (even though I love mages to bits ) though as I said I am still dubbing, I might even keep my Mage Hawke, I haven't decided yet

(According the legends –DAO – reaver–, that spec also taught by demons... and the power comes from own/enemy's pain/health. By the way, I mentioned already, that Reinhardt is a sweetheart?) Also: you can explain the Templar spec if your Hawke/Malcolm was a mercenary. I think, among the mercenaries we can find some ex-Templars... and also a good RP-view with lyrium-addiction, etc. The mercenaries not too picky, nor the ex-Templars. Such a warrior is experienced, so: probably valuable as a sellsword (not so valuable than an experienced mage, but still better than an untrained person), and: an ex-Templar needs the lyrium, to become a mercenary probably the best way to maintain replenishment (at least seems a better way than Samson's). I think, the Wardens also have some ex-Templars, like Alistair... or someone who learned the spec from an ex-Templar...

amalthea Merril to Barky: "I'm pleased, you liked it. So few animals interested in Dalish history." Merrill is so fun, I think people underdestimate her character! (Barky... not bad name! I still didn't name my Ralph's dog, when he's has important role in his story... I'm so lazy, and I feel I'm without any creativity...) I really love Merrill, too! She's an adorable ball of sunshine. 🌞How about "Mabarky" for your dog? Ya know, because he's a barky Mabari? Hehe. I named my current Hawke's mabari "Biscuit"
she's a Sarcastic Hawke, and I imagine she does it to troll everyone around her when they say the word biscuit, only for her dog to pounce on them and wag his tail Leandra: anyone want a biscuit? Biscuit: *pounces and lands on Leandra's lap wagging his tail* Leandra: Artemis Hawke, get that blighted dog off of me!!! Artemis: yes mother
cue everyone replacing the word biscuit for cookies or anything but biscuit so as not to incur the dog landing on them
I have some other funny names lined up as well like...Fuzzball, Rabbit, Buttercup (which might be a bit ironic since it later becomes Sera's nickname from Varric, then again Sarcastic Hawke's nickname is later granted to Solas (Chuckles) my Wardens tend to be more subtle in naming their mabari...aside from my canon Warden Narah who named hers "Roach" (I might go back at some point and give him a different name though)
