She is good at what she does yes, sexy strong barriers +sexy strong focus ability. At least something: she is good at fighting (though I always take Dorian, as Viv is boring in PB and Dorian does his "barrier + revive" job very well). Yeah I don't lik eViv reall yasa preson reall ybut her robes are something you can definitely pictuer a powerful mage/noble lady wearing so in some ways that fits her and her powers are very useful as well. In fac tusing her robes and powers on my Inquisitor atm thouugh my quizzy isn't as cold as she is. She rcognises therisa job t obe done but she'd rather do it making friends than turn people against her.

I do agree wih ther stance in a sense on magic in tha tit can be dangerous if left uncheckedif anything wha thappened t oMeredith and again the war between the mages and templars pretty much proved that. I love playin gmages in the DA universe as irt's probably my favourite class to play but I can understand why they're feared as much as they are.

I do agree wih ther stance in a sense on magic in tha tit can be dangerous if left uncheckedif anything wha thappened t oMeredith and again the war between the mages and templars pretty much proved that. actuallly even if she is a circle mage - I agree, she does understand many things, but at the same time, as she is a circle mage - she is ignorant about many things (it is very obvious if you make her Divine). But at least I respect her greatly for helping (even if she hunt for power), for readiness to die, for determination and for her quality to tell you right to your face the truth (I really respect that trait). Of course there are things I do not like about her, but if be honest, every character has flaws, just some more, some less; and it depends on a player - what one likes, another will despise. Approaching the fromnt door of Griffon Wing Keep aftre taking down half a dozen Venatori. Inquisitor "Shall we knock?" Iron Bull " Oooh yeah" Inquisitor smashes down door with her Spirit blade noticed that when you go get the keep e.g. in Crestwood, only warriors in your party make comments about the keep itself, others have nothing to say. Did not check all companions about two other keeps, but IIRC, there are some comments from non-warriors.

I think Cassandra has aline in this missoin too like when Varrric shouts how long can they keep this up and Cassandra replies not long enough but that's once yo uenter the keep and start smackin gthem around. Though I didn' thave her along for this bi tthis tim eas I had Blackwall with me instead.

Sera: Why are Dwarves so short, but carve their tunnels so tall? Blackwall: They choose to show their stature in other ways. Or it's compensation. Sera: Okay, the second-obvious reason it's funny you answered; you're swinging a giant sword around. Blackwall: That's not compensation. That's a counterweight.

Blackwall uses one-handed weapons, which aren't all that big. It made more sense when Anders said Carver is compensating for something, since he wields a two-handed sword.

First time I got this dialog. Sera: Hey Viv! Vivvy! Look at this! I've got something for you! Vivienne: Darling, it's your bottom. Again. As bony and sad as it was the last dozen times you've displayed it. Sera: It's my butt! Vivienne: Maker, however shall I endure this horror. Someone fetch me a fainting couch. I beg to differ, Viv. Sera is built like a PAWG human, not your typical skinny elf.

ugh yeah...her first reaction to an elven Inky Sera: aaand...you're an elf, well...hope you're not too "elfy" Inky: ...-has Elven armor and vallaslin- ah, so you're one of those
almost makes me sad making an elven Inquisitor to begin with, I mean...the only other elf they can talk to is Solas, and he treats them like a child!
(which given the fact he's ancient isn't too far off, but it still makes me sad )
almost as bad as playing an elf in Origins/Awakening, clicking on Oghren in the Wending woods and him going all;
Oghren: Hey, look at me, I'm an elf! Trees are pretty! Tra la la Warden: ...oh for the love of...Oghren shut up!
only reason he's in my party during Awakening end game is because he approves of sparing the Architect

Poor Lavellan has one elven companion complaining she's "too elfy", and the other elven companion basically complaining she's not elfy enough I like to think Lavellan is at least able to make friends with Dalish from the Chargers, so she has someone to talk to that understands.

Dalish is one of my favorite Chargers Dalish: oh sir, you know I'm not a mage...that'd make me an apostate Bull: Dalish...you carry a staff
Dalish: it's a bow! Krem: yeah, with a giant crystal on top Dalish: it's for aiming, old elven trick you wouldn't understand (I love how they reference that during one of the comics) < Also love how it's actually shaped like a bow

I'm not sure if they realize that. Hm, never really thought of it that way but I often think many of the dialogues in Inquisition are hit or miss,
when Bull introduces Dalish and explains the "three mage rule"...to a Dalish Inquisitor I'm like...err...yeah, I know that...I'm Dalish so... (which might be explained due to the fact Inquisition was at first going to be human player character only)
Dalish is still very sweet though Stitches is also very cool "that's 'cause it's a poultice ser, you're not supposed to drink it"

As for the three mages rule, I like the way Vivienne talks about it to a Dalish Inquisitor. She isn't explaining it to you, but discussing it as something she knows you know.

but yeah, I agree that Vivienne's discussing things with a mage elf or qunari was done very well, she asks out of a point of curiosity and not in order to berate you or whatever my own Qunari mage got along with her very well oddly enough, which might explain how she ended up as the Divine in that particular playthrough

The most important question a Dalish inquisitor can ask is "Who is Mythal?" at the eponymous temple. Then we have Morrigan continue to explain Dalish mythology, with two characters and one player fuming in the background. Solas: "Bah! All lies!" Lavellan: *points to her Vallaslin, a tree-shaped pattern on her forehead and something like branches on her cheekbones* "Now, shemlen, cut it. I have been told these stories since I'm three years old, and I have been telling them to the younsters myself since I'm 16." Myself: "Great. So much about background-specific dialogue. Why can't my elven PC do that exposition instead?" (Oh, and I never even dared to bring Sera there. But I guess she would go like: Eeek! Elfy elven elf shit!!! That cannot be real!!!!! It can't!!!!!!! Demons! Elfies everywhere! Can I catcht elfyness here? Aaaaaaah! Gonna Dieeeeee!!! ) Even though it is played for laughs, I think it is shitty how Bull and Krem just go "LOOK, EVERYONE! DALISH IS A MAGE!" If she is trying hard to lay low, that's because she is afraid.
(which might be explained due to the fact Inquisition was at first going to be human player character only) Dalish is still very sweet though Stitches is also very cool "that's 'cause it's a poultice ser, you're not supposed to drink it" As for the three mages rule, I like the way Vivienne talks about it to a Dalish Inquisitor. She isn't explaining it to you, but discussing it as something she knows you know. yeah, but I always thought the three mages rule thing wasn't a norm for every clan, I imagine clans that live more secluded might have more mages (like clan Sabrae or Zathrian's clan) then ones that trade more freely with outsiders (like clan Lavellan) but yeah, I agree that Vivienne's discussing things with a mage elf or qunari was done very well, she asks out of a point of curiosity and not in order to berate you or whatever my own Qunari mage got along with her very well oddly enough, which might explain how she ended up as the Divine in that particular playthrough Honestly, I never bought Minaeve's story as more than a particular(y dumb) individual case. Her clan apparently tossed out a mage once. Merrill's clan-of-birth (Alerion) does not, and the Sabrae as well. Lavellan can refute Minaeve's claims of "common practice" for their own clan. Oh, and there's Lanaya, who was born in an alienage and still got taken in and taught as a first. Furthermore, we have 1) no way to investigate Minaeve's story further and 2) given her age, she most certainly spent more time in her circle than in her clan, so she had plenty of time to take in any possible guaranteed brainwashing. Lastly, it being a common practice would be pretty stupid. If some clan is afraid of abomination apocalypse, tossing mages out is a good way to have that afraid and slightly resentful child come right back, possessed. Generally speaking, I wrote off those comments as people from anti-magic cultures spouting half-truths to prove the superiority of their own approaches. Regarding Vivvine... Wait, what? Reading that, I'm glad that my first Lavellan never recruited Vivienne. If I replay that one, I'll probably keep Madame de Fer out again. So Vivienne heard something vague about the Dalish that is not quite ridiculous derisive propaganda, and uses this to lecture Lavellan? Combined with her frequent remarks about "circle education superior, rest shit", that seems less inqusitive but more like utterly condescending to me.
Does she also go "you have no templars?!?!?!?!?" then, as she does for a Vashoth, then spouting that Vashoth mages get "treated" like followers of the Qun? It appears as both of those conversations are written to make sure Madame has the last word, with the writers not giving Lavellan/Adaar an option to rebuke her insinuations. Remembers me of certain writing blunders in Mass Effect (2 and 3), which railroad Shepard into giving eihter moronic or insensitive replies.

The most important question a Dalish inquisitor can ask is "Who is Mythal?" at the eponymous temple. Then we have Morrigan continue to explain Dalish mythology, with two characters and one player fuming in the background. Solas: "Bah! All lies!" Lavellan: *points to her Vallaslin, a tree-shaped pattern on her forehead and something like branches on her cheekbones* "Now, shemlen, cut it. and yes Vivienne does still have a "you have no templars" talk with a Lavellan Inquisitor (my first Inky was a Lavellan and I still remember their talks) ...it's odd that I keep using Inky as the nickname for an Inquisitor despite the fact I'm not overly fond of Sera...I might change to the more common Quizzy instead
