This would have to happen fast because, having access to all the knowledge the Reapers posessed, the "protected ones" will quickly become more powerful than their "protectors". As I noted, Reapers and their new controller mind matter only for a while and even the renegade speech doesn't sound like renewing the old story without a radical change of mind.
I can only hope your responses to TIM when talking to him on the Citadel were the renegade ones then. Because the second paragon response Shepard says is how we are not ready and shouldn't use the power to control the reapers. As I said, the problem is not accessing the knowledge the reapers have and passing them to "the protected ones". Is the "ifs" this decision carries, there are A LOT of them to be too comfortable with. And yeah, passing this kind of knowledge to a krogan or a vorcha. Or a Yahg.
What could go wrong with this... Don't remember how I talk to TIM, haven't played SP in a year. But. There are two types of problems: one is those caused by the new controller mind; my Shepard's carefully forged personality covers those. Second is those that would exist anyway. That the krogan or the yahg don't comprehend Reaper tier technology is not a problem because they're too immature not to use it for violence.

My main problem with the control ending is Shepard will lost the connection she has with the races on the galaxy and her own kind. She will remember them, but she won't feel anything about them.
So if she decides the krogan are too much trouble to the galaxy and need to be wiped out, no one can do a thing about it. Except restart the cycle with another war against the reapers.

After another remake the other day, my Vanguard playthrough of Cameo's story is already halfway there I made a small change to her appearance, giving her darker skin, and also made a (another) change to her background, I went back to what I chose the first time around when I played Mass Effect, making her a Spacer+Warhero While I'm aware this is the ultimate goody two shoes and 'perfect' background, it does have a reason out of all the backgrounds, Spacer is the one where Shepard still has his/her parents (or at least one of them) irl. I have good contact with both my parents, though I'm closest with my mother, mostly due to having similar personalities (among other things) so I felt that for my Shepard, having a parent who's supportive of her would also be nice
at any rate...my rambling is over
Currently Cam is on Noveria, having just arrived at the Peak 15 complex, I still need to do the repairs and stuff
today I also saved Terra Nova from Batarian extremists who wanted to plummet an astroid into the planet, saving the trapped engineers in the process
I also did various side quests on the Citadel, and a few on uncharted worlds Cameo's final remade appearance and I just gotta add one thing after I made this change >

I played a little ME3. Citadel DLC. Fought the clone. He took the coward's way out and committed suicide rather than try to figure out how to have a life.
Tried some ME2. Very frustrated with the constant crashing during Garrus's recruitment mission. Not sure how far back I'll have to go to fix it. Back to Skyrim...

Today I finished up Noveria, releasing the Rachni Queen and killing Benezia I've also done a few side missions and helped Wrex recover his family armor also, for the first time I've done and completed the Pinnacle Station dlc, it wasn't very interesting but at least I got a few more achievements out of it tomorrow I'll be finishing up some more side missions, head back to the Citadel for the last few missions there and then head to Feros with a bit of luck I can complete Cameo's Vanguard playthrough in another day or two, three at most

The clarity of those images is amazing. Better than any screenshots I've ever taken in ME1. I installed the FPS Counter mod to deal with the AMD "black blob" bug. It also adds some post-processing effects that seem to improve the look of the game. www.nexusmods.com/masseffect/mods/71

so today I've saved Feros, rescuing all the colonists and sparing Shiala I've also basically weeded out pretty much all the side missions, all that's left to do for me is the alignment related mission as well as track down some geth (and give Tali the data for her pilgrimage) and a few more side missions I was also finally able to get the amazing looking Hoplite armor from the Cerberus Skunkworks (courtesy of the Re-Calibrated mod)
so...anyway, with a bit of luck I can finish up the rest of Cameo's Vanguard playthrough by tomorrow

In ME2 the very first thing I do after Horizon is recruiting Samara. Good squadmate you ask? Good back ground story? Because of her looks? Apart from all alternatives being true, no. Is because Kelly will feed my damn fish afterwards!
Also...
The reapers are the problem? Yeah, right!

I just killed the fish. Again. *sigh* Don't feel bad. They were clearly indoctrinated. (Also, this is why you do not buy fish until just before you import into ME3. Saves you from needing to feed them. Or just do not buy any fish. A lot of may Shepards have an empty fish tank.)

I know it doesn't mess up the romance, but it feels slimy I’m fairly certain you can “friend zone” Kelly and she’ll still offer to take of the fish for you. I don’t remember the exact dialogue choices, but if you pick the friendly/kind but not flirtatious options you should be OK. - You will get to invite her for dinner, after which she’ll offer to take care of the fish - She won’t send the post-suicide mission email offering sexy fun times in your quarters - She will be in ME3 (assuming she survives ME2, of course).

Just remember what a wise matriarch said: if it's all civilized, you are not doing it right.
Also, if Shepard was more like this and less like Horizon troughout the game... ah, a fan can dream.

phew...just finished up Cameo's Vanguard playthrough of Mass Effect 1 (I cheated slightly to gain the last few levels I needed to reach lvl. 60 (I was lvl. 55 at the end) was able to score another 9 achievements for this run, so that's good
this playthrough was basically a major completionist run, I've completed every side mission I could find, including all the gathering missions (even picking up the ones I no longer needed) I've also killed every thresher maw I could find (there's 9 in total) I also bought every license I could find, giving a wide variety of items for the Normandy armory
and I gotta say, I love the Hoplite armor it's so pretty I mean just look at her, to bad it doesn't come in blue to match the background As a recap for this playthrough: Played as a Vanguard, had Electronics as a bonus power I focused mostly on using Shotguns, coupled with Warp and Throw powers (as well as Electronics for shields) Garrus and Kaidan were my team members 95% of the time
I've basically done a 'goody two shoes' playthrough, picking each and every paragon option I could find
a bit boring and unrealistic perhaps, but I like playing my Shepard's this way, so sue me *shrug*
The Rachni Queen was spared, Anoleis was arrested Feros colony was saved, Jeong was convinced to stay and help, Shiala is also helping out Bring down the Sky was completed, letting Balak go and saving the colony Pinnacle station was also completed Ashley was sacrificed on Virmire (sorry Ash I wish it were able to safe you to), and Wrex was talked down The Council was saved, Anderson is Humanity's councilor
--
right now I'm installing the ALOT textures for Mass Effect 2 (and hoping it doesn't screw up the installation of Re-Calibrated ) and I'll be making a soft start on Mass Effect 2, at least until I'm past Freedom's Progress in order to see if everything is still installed correctly
tomorrow I'll be starting Cameo's proper Mass Effect 2 playthrough
Edit: thankfully ALOT didn't screw with my installation of the Re-Calibrated mod, which means tomorrow I can start with recruiting team members

Edit: thankfully ALOT didn't screw with my installation of the Re-Calibrated mod, which means tomorrow I can start with recruiting team members I learned the other day by thinkering with MEM how to install ALOT packages without using its default installer. Is not complicated once I learned the process by the way, you just do the steps manually.
I respect CreeperLava for putting the mod togheter, but what the hell?! We are installing textures and nothing else, how the hell can this screw up a ME install? Regarding Mass Effect... I was re-reading the 2011 beta leaked of ME3 and while the game's progression is a little different from the version with have today, the story and the outcome is the same. The Catalyst is there, Javik is not a DLC and after Eden Prime an integral member of your squad, Kaishley would confront Shepard (albeit it would be on Thessia, not the Citadel), Udina would still be a traitor, Samara mission respects the lore but the rest is exactly the same and etc. All old news. But the thing that caught me was this: The other day I was doing the mission on Ontarom, the planet with the Alliance communications network, and I've always stop to look at the horizon and think to myself: "I wish we were able to go there". It doesn't matter how, on foot or driving, but go for a "scenic route" walk. Yeah, there's a war around us, but these are details. Did someone also stop to look the surrounding locations in the N7 missions and wish we could go exploring them?

We are installing textures and nothing else, how the hell can this screw up a ME install? because last time I installed ALOT first before installing Re-Calibrated, then I tried to put back the back ups I made pre texture install and it somehow broke my game (I still don't know what I did wrong, but it must've been something stupid)
this time I took the time to install everything properly (aka. not half asleep as I'd done the first time)
I'm kind of scared to do all the mod installations for when I start my ME3 playthrough somehow I always end up making mistakes by installing things in the wrong order or whatever... anyway, I still have to narrow down the mods I'll be using, I have a few downloaded, but I'll tackle things once I get around to it

so today I properly started Cameo's Mass Effect 2 playthrough at present I've recruited Garrus, Kasumi, Zaeed and Mordin for the team, and done some side missions on Omega and the Citadel Cameo also got her Spectre status back from the Council, though they weren't much help otherwise, Udina also showed up but Anderson shut him down quite easily I've also scanned a few planets for resources (though I haven't found an Eezo planet yet) also done some purchases to expand Cam's armory Tomorrow I think I'll be heading to Illium to see Liara, and maybe recruit Thane while I'm there I plan to leave Samara for later, and maybe recruit either Jack or Grunt as the last character before we're send to Horizon I haven't been able to grab a bonus power for Cameo yet, but I plan on getting Miranda's Slam power after I gain her loyalty mission (Slam is also available in ME3, and I kind of like it )

Did someone also stop to look the surrounding locations in the N7 missions and wish we could go exploring them? The only place in ME3 where I really enjoy the view is at the monastery. It's just so peaceful there, with a sky full of stars out the main window. Too bad it's crawling with banshees.

today recruited a few more members for Cameo's suicide squad, namely Grunt and Thane I also solved a few assignments on Illium, among which helping out some old friends and allies I'm really happy the Re-Calibrated mod removes the forced hug with Liara, as much as it is touching...I never felt it really fit my Shepard's who never became more then casual friends with her the mod also addresses the double flag set for the condition of Conrad's presence there, so I got the proper Paragon scene this time around (including the face slap ) tomorrow we'll be heading to Horizon, and after that I'll be filling in the missing spots on the team (recruiting Samara, Jack and Tali) that leaves another two more mission parts before the Collector Ship mission which I'll probably fill in by heading to the Normandy Crash site, and maybe collect the Hammerhead thankfully after the Collector Ship mission I can take things a bit slower, at least until heading over to collect the Reaper IFF (which I tend to leave for last anyway) I'd forgotten how long and tedious the scanning mini games are though, and I've yet to find a planet with some Eezo deposits...ah well

It's just so peaceful there, with a sky full of stars out the main window. Too bad it's crawling with banshees. I swear, since the first time I entered Lexus the first thing that comes to mind is when Dracula introduces himself to Harker in Coppola's "Bram Stocker's Dracula (1992)". The pinball arcade machine, that is. "Welcome to the Carpathians". This is the emulated version running in Windows
And the real one
I started a new playthrough today. Since most of the time I play renegade or renegon Sheps leaving most of the galaxy in shambles, I definitely want to try something different.
So this time my engineer, the best of the classes of course, will be Paragade. Mostly Paragon, with some bits of renegade here and there. Lianna Shepard, colonist sole survivor. Had a rough ride since her earlier days. Losted her parents, then her squad, then Ashley on Virmire. Bonded with Kaidan during the course of her journey.
Due to mistakes commited during the SM, losted some squadmates: Grunt, Garrus, Jacob, Zaeed, Mordin and Legion. But was able to save the crew and destroy the collector's base.
Didn't even stopped to hear TIM's proposal, the second he opened his mouth she refused out right to use the base. Miranda uphold my decision, much to TIM dismay.
Lianna is interested in starting again with Kaidan, but he said that I shouldn't "Kaidan him", because for now things are business. He also didn't seem to believe when I explained that Cerberus was a temporary alliance out of necessity. Even compared me to a damn cerberus husk we've found on Mars. Let's see how things will develop, for now Cerberus is holding the Mars archives, that's where we're heading. Only have to wait for a damn train full of cerberus troops arrive. Me, Kaidan and Liara are bunker down waiting for them.

today Cameo went to Horizon and re-connected with Kaidan...though he was initially relieved to see her, this soon turned into anger Kaidan accused Cam of betraying him and the Alliance, and was appalled with the fact both she and Garrus were (in his eyes) willingly working for Cerberus and though she tried to make him see reason, his anger clouded his judgment and with pain in her heart she bid him goodbye, not even attempting to get him to join her crew
filled in the last few spots on Cameo's suicide squad, recruiting Tali, Jack and Samara (in that order) after I had recruited Tali I went to the Normandy crash site, somehow that mission always makes me choke up a bit
and after recruiting Jack and Samara we went to retrieve the Hammerhead, I had hoped the Collector ship mission would trigger after that, but it didn't seeing as we were already in the same system, I went to Zorya to help Zaeed settle a score however when they arrived there and ran into an old acquaintance of Zaeed's, he decided that killing this man was more important then the original mission, which involved saving the refinery from slavers Cam got real pissed with Zaeed though, and resolved that saving the now burning refinery was more important then revenge, thus Vido got away and the refinery was saved despite this Zaeed conceded to Cameo's leadership and gave his loyalty to her for the mission
after Cam got back to the Normandy, Kelly told her that the Illusive Man wished to speak to her (meaning the Collector Ship did trigger afterwards), but I'll be doing that mission tomorrow
So far I've unlocked pretty much all the Loyalty missions aside from Thane's which I suspect will unlock after the Collector Ship
-- Funny thing I'm currently doing for Cam's playthrough, I'm basically archiving every mail message she receives, aside from the one received from Mom Shep and the one Kaidan sends after Horizon
also the other day I found a song that kind of fits Cam's personality Also though I played Cameo as a pure Paragon in ME1, she does have some Renegade gains in ME2, basically mirroring her annoyance with not being believed, and some people just deserve a Renegade interrupt
I also found out something really funny about the Sentry interface Head gear...if you look closely you can see that it shows a holo of the Normandy (it also helpfully says so) also Shepard's name is written across the interface screen, I'm sure people have seen this before...but I've never used the Sentry interface in the past so it was new for me

today I completed the Collector Ship mission (god I hate that one ) after that I started doing Loyalty missions, starting with Kasumi's which gave me some trouble for some reason when I had it finished it went to a black screen and froze my game, but I eventually solved the problem Cam allowed Kasumi to keep the Grey box then I went to the Citadel and helped Garrus and Thane with their missions Cameo talked to Sidonis, which calmed Garrus enough so he wouldn't kill him Thane's son Kolyat was found and the pair is heading toward reconciliation with help from C-Sec officer Bailey I also did a few side missions, starting the Hahne-Kedar mission chain tomorrow I'll be finishing up the above mission chain, then head to Illium to help Miranda with her sister and also do the Shadow Broker dlc after that I'll probably be heading to Tuchanka to help out Mordin and Grunt with their loyalty missions (and see Wrex again)
I was also able to gain another 7 achievements

Finally, found what we need it in the Mars archives! But holy hell, Kaidan took a beating from a cyberbot Cerberus infiltrated in the facility and is barelly alive! Not only she killed almost every scientist and researcher, she facilitated the invasion by Cerberus troops. The ice in the cake? The marine that escorted me while I was waiting trial on Earth, escaped the reapers invasion with me and Kaidan. Oh you didn't know?
Yes, your trully is accused of conspiracy, working with a terrorist organization and treason (which is a capital offense). There are rumors that I even commited genocide by wiping out an entire system while killing 300.000 batarians in the process. But these are just rumors, I assure you.
In any case I ordered him to guard the rear exit in case Cerbeus tried to escape and I was right: the cyberbot tried to escape t using a Cerberus shuttle. Except the reckless dumbass crashed our shutlle into the Cerberus one to prevent its escape instead of... you know... using the guns our Kodiak have! Fuck! Kaidan is hurted bad, I'm taking him to the Citadel and I also have to keep an eye at my back because I have a suicidal lieutenant with anger issues. And need to see the council.
The council was a dead end - what a surprise - so I will bypass them and appeal directly to the power's leadership. Our fist stop is Palaven, actually a moon of Palaven, since this is where their Primarch is. Except the reapers killed him. After a general pointed me in the right direction to his sucessor and warned me the guy is also a little reckless, I tracked him in the battlefield. Oh the joy! First my lieutenant is a suicidal reckless - albeit a good shot - and now the turian leader is a reckless maniac. Sometimes I wish the thresher maws had actually devoured me. During our search I remembered Garrus. Damn, he must be pissed with me in the Turian's heaven for losting the fight of our lives. After finding the new primarch and also saving his ass, he suggested an alliance with the krogan to fight the reapers. Oh the joy again! Didn't the salarians and asari actually tried this almost two thousand years ago to fight another threat and then the krogan turn on them and almost conquered the galaxy? What could wrong with this idea, imagine that?! Ok, fine! I will meet the salarian dalatrass and the krogan clan chief. But first let's take a look at Kaidan, the doctor at the Citadel told me he's awake and wish to speak with me. Oh yes, better to bring something to lift his spirits up. I think a good wine would be a good idea, isn't? Take that Starbuck, in the 21st century patients in a hospital are allowed to drink booze while recovering.
