Did several missions today finished loyalty missions for Tali, Grunt, Samara and Mordin...all that's left is Jacob's and Jack's also did a few side missions (some on Tuchanka, and a few uncharted world ones)
for the loyalty missions I did today; Tali was proven non guilty and kept her honor, though she did accept the vas Normandy name, now as a badge of pride instead of shame Grunt was made a member of Clan Urdnot, Wrex was honored to accept him, Cameo also helped kill a Thresher maw Mordin spared his former assistant and kept the Genophage cure data the latter had been working on Samara found and killed her daughter Morinth
at present I'm in the system for Jacob's loyalty mission, and have unlocked the Blue suns mission chain which I'll also be starting tomorrow I also still need to do the Overlord dlc, and finish up the side missions of the Hammerhead dlc (along with several other uncharted world missions as well) the Normandy has almost been completely upgraded (still need Jacob's armor upgrade), and so far all team members are loyal to Cameo's mission at any rate, I'm slowly nearing the end of Mass Effect 2, with a bit of luck I might be able to finish it by the end of this week (perhaps sooner) I also unlocked a few more achievements (five of them today)

the Normandy has almost been completely upgraded (still need Jacob's armor upgrade), I was somewhat disappointed to learn you can unlock the squaddie ship upgrades simply by doing their loyalty missions and not having to specifically ask for them during conversation. I only found out you get them anyway by doing a PT of not talking to anyone unless via cutscene or they requested it (as in ME2 for the loyalty missions). I still installed them all, of course.
Ignoring Traynor all ME3 was pretty amusing.

Hey, look who I've encountered at the Hospital, Dr. Chakwas! She was working in a lab and when heard Kaidan was hurt came to the hospital to see if she could help in anything. It's a doctor thing, I never knew a doctor who acted differently. But holy shit! Kaidan's face looks like a bag of mushed and rotten meat. The doctor at the hospital it's optmistic though, so there's hope. Yeah! While at the Normandy I received a message from Aria T'Loak, the self proclamed "queen" of Omega. She wants to see me at a club called Purgatory. Never heard off and asking for Avina, the citadel information VI, doesn't help. Humm. Let's try the third button of the elevator, appropriately labled "Purgatory Bar". Who the heck programmed the VI, the only thing she spill as "information" is religious nonsense. Arriving at Purgatory and on my way to see Aria saw a soldier named Mel having a conversation with a fellow soldier from her squad. Look, not here to judge anyone. Live and let live, everyone knows which side of the bus they exit and etc. But if I recall correctly she asked if he and the squad would go "barre-assed" and if they do, she won't mind joining in. This in turn remembered her some time she spent with a hanar, a asari and a shotgun if I heard it right (which made her never look at a shotgun the same way again). She thinks they want to all "secretly nail her", promptly denied by her fellow soldier. Maybe they like indeed to get barre-assed with each other afterall or they haven't drinked enough, Mel has a great body, but a so-so face. From where I come from this type of problem is fixed by drinking lots of booze, so even a vulture looks like an eagle OR if you a religious person you can pray to Saint George, a man who defeated a dragon with just his sword and a prayer. You will also need a pillow, but I recommend booze, it's more fun. But I'm devianting... Now, in most armies a squad consists of eight to fourteen soldiers and may be further subdivided into fireteams. Mel seems to have a lot of stammina. Like I said, who am I to judge. Kaidan kicked me in Horizon and I also spent some nights with Kelly on the Normandy after. Only girl talk, I assure you (if you discount the pole work, leather clothes and the space hamster of course). The varren are only rumors and defamatory talk by envy crewmates. Before accusations fly, Kaidan never explained to me the cassino run with a vorcha mafia, five thousand credits and a bottle of whisky! Fair is fair, because I doubt that five thousand credits and a bottle of whisky doesn't involve something else in the middle. And vorcha? Even the special edition of Fornax picturing them has a label warning about the possibility of blindness. Damn Kaidan! No wonder the Alliance is being kicked in the balls, feet and head in this war, hun?! Fine, let's talk to Aria, business before pleasure, because after that I'm definitely getting drunk. No, James want me to pay him a drink to impress some low troopers, but common! I'm Commander Shepard, saviour of the galaxy, detroyer of the Collectors, heroine of the Citadel. I don't have time to PR and distributing autographs! And I'm sure it's a scam, he always talk about ME paying HIM a drink, never the other way. At least Jacob and Kasumi offer me to pay drinks sometimes. See, this is how friends act! It seems Cerberus stoled Omega from her. Payback is a hell, hun dear "queen". So she's planning to recup her station from Cerberus with the help of the Blue Suns, Blood Pack and Eclipse. Didn't I pretty much finished this guys 6 months ago? WTF! Or maybe this was the reason Cerberus could get a hold of Omega, since there wasn't much people left to defend it. Thinking about it now, it seems I have a partial responsiblity here. Argh, ok let's go, I'm in a hurry here and she promissed troops, ships, eezo and materials after I help her. Also Hackett was very explicit regarding my orders: while I don't find what we need for the Crucible, in the meantime I have to search for troops, ships, eezo and material for him. The Eclipse leader threatened me, so I replaced her; the Blood Pack was easy, just kill the leader and replace him for a puppet; and the Blue Suns wanted some general to stop harassing them, but when asking to do it he replies he needed weapons and the merchant willing to do it need me to travel all over the galaxy to find some artifacts. Let's see. Searching half the galaxy, risking being detected by the reapers when scanning the location, wasting valueable fuel that could be usefull in the future and then giving some loot to a merchant in exchange for some weapons? I don't think so, the general has to go. An let's call it a day here and get drunk, shall we. I still need to meet the krogan and salarian leader about forming an alliance between them, us humans and the turians. The asari don't wanna join our fraternity. Bitches.

I didn't know that the first time either, only had them unlocked after their loyalty missions were completed
during my last playthrough I found out you can ask them about their upgrades once you have Mordin and his lab unlocked, though during my current playthrough I went the 'old fashioned' way again (unlocking and installing after their loyalty mission completed)
I love talking with the characters (even if they annoy me) I found it sad that I could only talk a few times with Joker in ME1, thankfully his ME2 conversations have been upgraded, even if by now all he says is 'good for now, fractioned my thumb on the mute but I think I made my point' when I ask him how thing are in the cockpit it's still fun

oh boy where to start... today was a long day in Cameo's Mass Effect 2 run I started with taking care of Jacob's loyalty mission, finding his father and turning said father over to the Alliance we then cleaned up the last few Hammerhead Missions, gaining a snazzy Prothean artifact as a reward I then went and took care of project Overlord, saving David from his torture and having him taken to Grissom Academy for treatment then Jack's mission was taken care of, she blew up the Pragia facility where she'd been tortured in the past but spared Aresh and then we went to my favorite part of the game...the Derelict Reaper (god I hate that mission bloody husks everywhere) we recruited and activated Legion, and afterwards took care of his loyalty mission as well, rewriting the Heretic Geth
then the Normandy got attacked, and Joker proved he was one lucky person (well if you want to call it luck) by surviving the attack at least his relationship with EDI got better as a result, there's always a sunny side
arguing that they had waited long enough Cameo gathered her team and took them through the Omega4 Relay, taking the fight to the Collectors (before they went through the relay I head canon that Cam re-read the emails send by her mother and Kaidan as she looks toward the latter's picture)
no causalities as we'd fully upgraded the Normandy
Tali was sent through the vents, with Garrus acting as the leader for the first fire team, squad members were Thane and Mordin we found and saved the crew, sending Mordin along with them so they'd safely arrive back at the Normandy Jack held up the biotic bubble, Tali and Legion were the squad members for this portion with Jacob acting as the second fire team leader the final team consisted of Garrus and Miranda, the rest stayed behind (apparently led by Thane as he was the one sending an update)
Due to the horrible things that had happened at the base, Cameo decided to blow up the Collector base, angering the Illusive Man considerably he tried to have Miranda stop Cameo, however after what she had witnessed Miranda refused and told him she was resigning from Cerberus -I imagine Jacob will follow suit after reading the report- afterwards Cam told the Illusive Man that she was done working with him, and that next time they'd meet he'd either stand with her or stand aside, for if he'd get in her way...she'd use his shiny eye balls for target practice -- All that's left to do is take care of the Arrival dlc, which I'll be doing tomorrow after making a short stop at the Shadow broker base to pick up some stuff from Liara
also today I earned another 14 achievements
lastly, here's a screenshot of Cameo's ME2 appearance...I haven't taken a lot of screens during this playthrough and I consider this one one of the better ones and her facial code in case people are interested: 731.CIP.KEC.G6W.JAG.47K.CEI.18G.PA3.4C7.3G7.614 so yeah, all that's left is Arrival, then it's of to hunt down the mods I want to use for my ME3 run I have a few in mind, but I'll look at some more once I'm finished with ME2

Hey, Cameo looks good.
On the other hand: did you get the ME1 archive for using medi-gel 150 times? If not, you are not a real Mass Effect fan, much more a good player.
I've never forgot a discution I had with a friend and how he trashed the game saying it was crap. And one of the reasons is this achievement.
An achievement for failure, according to him.
In my opinion more games should have achievements like this. I'm actually surprised ME3 don't have a completionist type of achievement, like "comlplete ME3 with a imported save that completed every single mission and assignment in ME1 and ME2".

Made some more progress with my ME1 vanguard playthrough over the last few days: Went to Metgos in the Argos Rho cluster, to investigate reports of a medical transport in distress. It turned out to be a trap laid by the geth. It didn’t go according to plan for them. Next was Eletania in the Attican Beta cluster, where Admiral Hackett sent us to fetch a lost Alliance data module that the geth were after. With Kaidan and Liara’s help I retrieved the module from the “space monkey” creature that had wandered off with it, and defeated the geth forces that were also searching for it. We also found a Prothean artifact site that had a slot which fit the trinket I received from Consort Sha’ira perfectly. It triggered an interesting vision of Prothean experiments on prehistoric humans. Next up was Feros, to investigate what Saren wanted from the planet and what it had to do with the “conduit”. We found a colony under geth attack, with colonists acting rather strangely. We (Kaidan, Liara and I) helped out the Zhu’s Hope colonists, and then went to the Exogeni corp headquarters to unravel the mystery. Saren was after a “plant” being called the Thorian which had mind control capabilities, along with the Prothean “cipher”, knowledge key to interpreting the visions from the beacon’s. We defeated the Thorian, and rescued Matriarch Benezia’s disciple Shiala , who gave us the cipher (as she had given Saren). The Exogeni executive – Ethan Jeong – acted like an arse suffered a terminal case of bullet between the eyes as a result, but otherwise the colony was safe and we had the info we needed. Back on the Normandy, Liara performed the asari mind meld to try and analyze the info from the beacon and the prothean cipher, but there were still pieces of the puzzle missing. Hopefully the answers will be found on Noveria. Snapshots from our trips to Eletania and Feros: Mysterious Prothean site on Eletania. The geth learn that Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest SOB on Feros. Technically I shot him in the face, not the back, but I see your point. It’s not easy being green. Are you coming on to me? You and me both, Ian.

thanks, I'm really happy with her look myself, might as well be the best looking Shepard I've ever made
I tried to get that achievement last time but it didn't trigger, apparently Cam is good at dodging bullets (less so at dodging charging krogans, they killed me a couple of times during ME2, but that was mostly me misjudging a charge of my own)
also, I tend to play on Casual (or whatever the lowest difficulty is called is in a game)...I play games to relax, and if a game makes me want to throw my screen across the room I don't like it (it's also a reason I stopped playing MMO's...to much frustration)
and that would've been a great achievement, mainly because this current playthrough is exactly that then again, the Long Service achievements are kind of like that (complete the game twice or once with an import from ME1/ME2)
at present the amount of achievements I have unlocked is as followed; 65% of ME1, 87% of ME2 and 93% of ME3 (might gain a few more today after finishing the Arrival dlc)
most achievements left for me tend to boil down to 'finish the game (or certain missions) on Insanity'
the ones for ME2 are of one single playthrough, only one I didn't unlock this time around was the Paramour achieve since I remained loyal to Kaidan (apparently in this instance loyalty is not rewarded ) I might get that achievement at a later date if I decide to make a Male Shepard
-- Edit: so I wondered why the Arrival dlc didn't trigger...turns out I hadn't downloaded it, as I didn't want to wait for an hour long download I tried installing it through a separate installer tried launching my game and got a blighted error: awc.dll load failed so now I have to wait for my game to be repaired...with my luck this repair screws with something else forcing me to re-download the entire game yet again

while waiting for my Mass Effect 2 game to re-download (because of course with my luck my initial repair attempt didn't work *grumbles*) in the meantime I'm putting together my mod list for my Mass Effect 3 playthrough I've been able to narrow it down to the following; - ME3Recalibrated - Better Dreams - EGM, Expanded Galaxy Mod - JAM, JohnP's Alternate MEHEM - Back Off - Extended Anderson Scene - Spectre Expansion Mod With that in mind, are there any other mods people would recommend? (I own all the dlc-content if that is of use)
And -seeing as I'm a bit of a noob- which of the above mods do I install first? I'll also be using ALOT textures (which I know I have to install after installing all other mods that aren't textures)

And then reinstalling the mods.
If you have spare space in your hard drive, I suggest you make a copy of the game with all the mods installed. And disable Origin auto-update.
It will save you a ton of headaches.
My ME1 is the Steam version, but my ME2 is the disc version. Yes, with the box and all.
I had to download the DLCs and store them in a USB stick, but it's better than dealing with Origin, specially because EA is trying to push the subscription option of the "service" instead of, you know, selling the game. :/
Unfortunately the ME3 version requires Origin, I can't scape the damn thing. I mean, I can just crack the game, but I don't want to.
while waiting for my Mass Effect 2 game to re-download (because of course with my luck my initial repair attempt didn't work *grumbles*) in the meantime I'm putting together my mod list for my Mass Effect 3 playthrough I've been able to narrow it down to the following; - ME3Recalibrated - Better Dreams - EGM, Expanded Galaxy Mod - JAM, JohnP's Alternate MEHEM - Back Off - Extended Anderson Scene - Spectre Expansion Mod With that in mind, are there any other mods people would recommend? Ah, so you want the "happy" ending. Not a criticism, just to be clear.
I'm happy with the dark and all life doomed ending. Or I was happy, since the EC pretty much butchered it by adding happy slides for everything. The only mod I don't like of your list is Back Off. While the mod is very good, it also does the opposite of the things it aims to correct. The mod devs stated the aim is to give control back to Shepard, but it actually removes even more of your choices.
The player can dictate every and single situation and some of them were tuned, like the initial interation between Shepard and Vega. And let me tell, this particular change is very good. But the problem is in the end, Shepard becomes immune to outside forces and since we can't create new dialog for him/her, the result is a mixed one. For example, take Samantha.
She is very pushy sometimes and the scene of her staring at femShep ass - removed by the mod, btw - while stating she is only interested in the commander sucess is really a great one and fits her character. She has no problem being cozy, remember?
But oh no, Shepard is the omniscent god/goddess of the universe and nothing can touch him/her. While this kind of thing is much better handled in MEA - Ryder's reaction is great most of the time when being affected by exterior events - the mod removes content it deemed "inappropriate" and with a few exceptions turn Shepard's relationships even more bland. And the result is bland because it allows you to have every single dialog available from squadmates, even the ones reserved for LI, without having to invest in them. Also the dialogs don't change if you don't speak or only occasionally speak with someone. One talk and "everything is ok, this is my life".
But try it and tell me what you think, don't let my opinion dissuade you.

Landed on my first offworld planet in Mass Effect 1, but then went to local bar to drink some beer. Current status: feeling good.

Argh, reinstalling Mass Effect because of Origin.

She has no problem being cozy, remember?

part 1) I actually did make a backup on an external HD, bit it didn't include the Arrival dlc so it wouldn't have gotten the result I wanted anyway. also I have three versions of ME1 and ME2, a disc version (of which the first game no longer works due to some sort of redistribution weirdness that they used to include back in the day), a version on Steam and a version on Origin.
I bought the ME3 collector's edition back when it came out...well...what you can call a collector's edition anyway (I'd never been so disappointed with a CE version before )
I have all the dlc for 1 and 2 on my external HD as well, but when I tried to install Arrival that way it apparently didn't work with the Origin version, which caused the error with a bit of luck I'll have a finished download by the end of today, maybe allowing me to finish up my ME2 playthrough this evening or tomorrow
--
part 2) I like having a happy ending for my Shepard after everything she's been through imo. she deserves to settle down with her LI (Kaidan in my case), retire from the Alliance and live of the accolades she's due haven't decided yet where they'd settle down though...seeing as Kaidan was born on Earth and my Shep is a Spacer
hmm...I've yet to install any mods, but you say I should leave out Back off? From the mod description it says it aims to correct some of the dialogues and while I like having some control over the way certain characters interact with my Shep, I don't want to take away from their entire personality example being Shiala in Mass Effect 2 (provided you spared her on Feros in ME1), she flirts with Shepard regardless of gender and romantic involvement with someone, Shepard always smiles at her, in my case I just imagine my Shep is a bit clueless as to what Shiala is actually implying

Cleared the Arrival dlc and got started with my Mass Effect 3 playthrough, haven't gotten very far yet though currently on Mars having just met up with Liara but I gotta say, I'm really happy with how well Cameo translated into ME3 only had to make 2 tweaks to her imported facial code (eye and eyebrow color) I'm already having a literal blast with doing my favorite charge+nova combo...just got to find a good shotgun
facial code for ME3 in the spoiler tag 731.CIP.KEC.G6W.JAG.46K.CEI.18G.PA3.4C7.3G6.614

Oh no, I'm not saying that. I think you should install the mod and see what it changes. I didn't liked some changes, while others are very good.
But that's just me, maybe you like what they did.
And a Vanguard?! Wait untill you pick the protheans implants that subvert the gameplay mechanics entirelly!
You have one that enables you to build a Vanguard that PUNCH things, instead of using Nova. Ah... the joys and dangers of punching Banshees and Brutes.
And WoW! Cameo looks good!

Hm...I suppose I could give it a try after all

Thank you I'm really happy with Cameo as well ^^
and I just love Vanguards, even though normally I'm not to fond of being up close (especially not with husks), I might give a try to an Adept some time in the future as well (I kinda like the ME Archives description for Adepts)
I also noticed that one of the mods I installed gives new achievements, already unlocked the one for having completed all the ME2 plot lines and side missions, but it didn't unlock the one for ME1, I'll keep playing and see what I get
I already love some of the new mechanics, can't wait to see and find out more I named Joker as my current XO, his service record is hilarious (Article blah blah 'stealing of a military craft and flying it without orders' )
--
Edit: so...I gave BO a chance and...yeah, you're right...some of the dialogues are handled nice (like Shepard actually saying something before she carries Kaidan away on Mars) but others seem...well, very OOC for my Shepard, Cameo is a very warm person...and some of the dialogues make her seem quite cold so I think tomorrow I'll just carefully remove that mod and make (another) restart the other mods work great though, especially EGM is really fun so far still figuring things out, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it

Not doing anything in the trilogy right now, but I have been watching Ali Hillis on Grey's Anatomy. Nice to put a face to the voice.

I'm continuing ME1 in the weekend.. maybe post some pics too, but for various reasons, playing ME1 has made me quite sure ( ) I wont continue to 2 and 3. 1 is just so good and I fear 2 and 3 will spoil it now after Andromeda. Other feelings too... like I feel 3 was ruined for me by the quite awful multiplayer part and I dont feel like playing it at all anymore

Just finished my first off world mission, bunch of researcher got turned to husks and had to cheese it on Insanity with primitive level 2/3 weapons. Basically do as much dmg as possible, exist bunker, repeat. Am now in another part of the galaxy and discovered a ship full of triggered biotics. Got 3 minutes to kill them all before hostages get destroyed. Just want to say if you ever in the mood for some ME3mp, don't be shy to give an invite.

Well I think mp portion of 3 is definately over for me, and thats why I fear it "ruined" sp.. but anyway, mainly I would like to skip most of 2 as its main story is very drab for me until last minute, where its ok. I have to see if theres some mods'n'stuff for that, as they say on the internets...
