No gameplay today, although I hope to wrap my current game tonight. But at the beach I saw a woman with enough ink to cosplay as Jack. All she'd need is the haircut.

For funsies, I decided to pop in Mass Effect 3 and look at some old saves. Hoo boy, that was a little bit of an adventure.
"Who was Ahmed Shepard?" (He was a ME3MP Drell Adept-style Shepard apparently)
"Who was Nicole Shepard? Why do I have two playthroughs with her? Why do I have all these games saves?" (She was my ME3MP Female Quarian Engineer-style Shepard. I guess I played through the game with her twice? I have no clue why I had so many game saves with her.)
"Why was I using the Venom shotgun with a Marksman bonus power on this Infiltrator quick save?" (I think I was testing to see if Marksman decreased the time it took to charge a shot?)

"Why was I using the Venom shotgun with a Marksman bonus power on this Infiltrator quick save?" (I think I was testing to see if Marksman decreased the time it took to charge a shot?) Does it? It does not. The time required to charge a shot appears to be a static value that is not affected by Marksman. I had Marksman evolved to give a +70% rate-of-fire bonus, but it does not appear to affect the charge time at all. I play on Xbox 360, but I no longer have a video capture device to record gameplay so I could actually perform more empirical tests, but a 70% increase should be noticeable, but the charge time did not noticeably decrease when Marksman was active. I suspect all -- or perhaps most -- weapons with a similar charge mechanic would not benefit from Marksman. Perhaps weapons that have a built-in charge for all shots would benefit from Marksman, but weapons with a secondary charge fire mechanic would not. * By "secondary charge fire mechanic", I mean weapons that allow you hold the trigger to increase damage on a single shot. Venom, Geth Plasma Shotgun, and Arc Pistol have this ability. They allow you to fire normal shots, but you can hold the trigger for a more powerful shot.

Perhaps weapons that have a built-in charge for all shots would benefit from Marksman, but weapons with a secondary charge fire mechanic would not. After further testing, I am confident that Marksman's rate-of-fire bonus does not apply to any weapon charges. I went to the Citadel fire range and tested all the guns that had a charge mechanic: Venom, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Graal, Acolyte, Arc Pistol, Chakram Launcher, Javelin, Kirschok. Marksman's rate-of-fire bonus did not improve the charge time on these weapons at all. The charge time appears to be a static number that cannot be improved by Marksman's rate-of-fire bonus.

Yesterday, I decided to do a bit of putsying about in ME1 with my Level 59 engineer by doing Pinnacle station. This has always been a bit of a nemesis for my engineers and I've always had to dial down to the difficulty to normal to beat it. Finally, I've beaten it entirely on hardcore. Next step is to try again on Insanity. I really wish we could respec in ME1. This guy's bonus is a shotgun, not barrier; but I really don't want to go through another 2 runs of ME1 to get another engineer to this level.

since the previous PC (containing the save files of my run of ME1) died (and has been sent-back, repaired, and re-got, but all files lost, so, like a brand new PC), i would like to know if there is a way to create a new save from scratch, and to edit it with something, in order to input directly the "choices" i ve made during my ME1 run, in order to be able to directly begin my let's play on ME2 with the consequences of my ME1 run's choices? or if i have to re-do an entire ME1 run with all the choices? (i don't care for my levels, just for the scenario choices, because i would like to keep consistance beetween my ME let's play)

You can find some information about modding from these pages: I believe the ME2 Gibbed Editor is what you need for modding save files. Use your favorite search engine to find information about modding ME2 save files. I do not think that information is on this site (if it ever was). A lot of good information was lost when BioWare shut down the old BSN forums; some of the information was copied to these forums, but a lot of information is still located on other sites. I hope that gets you started at least.

good news, i found on the save-site an save that has a lot of similarities with what i did (only minor differences) so, thanks to that, i will be able to make an ME2 let's play that is mostly consistent with my ME1 let's play

I popped in ME3 and played around with some old save files: - Soldier with Kirshock
- Infiltrator with Venom, Infiltrator with Claymore
- Charge-Nova Vanguard with Claymore
That was the only real gameplay. I loaded up a few other save files to poke around, see what and where I had saved. I am not really feeling the itch right now to do a full trilogy playthrough, but I am thinking of redo-ing my ME3 Claymore Soldier. I played it before some of the really big changes that occurred in patches. I was also still learning the game at the time, and I do not think I ever properly played through the DLC with it. So I might re-import into ME3 and do it again.

Replayed Omega DLC with my Energy Drain Soldier playing around with the different dialogue options trying to get kissed but with leaving Petrovsky alive. I can't remember if there is a way to do that or not.

Moved everything from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One. We had a power bump this morning and I really had a time booting up the 360 afterwards so once I got it going I made the decision to move stuff over so at least I don't lose it all if the Xboe 360 bites it. However, at my internet speed, the downloads might be finished in a couple of days.

Everything in our area relies on line of sight to cell towers... making my internet very weather dependent. Even a high wind causes trees in the area to interrupt service. BTW, it's still downloading.

good news: was able to make ME2 working with the downloaded save, so, i played+ recorded 5 episodes, i ll maybe upload the first one in few days.
(and i modified shepard's face, because i wanted to give him an ridiculous and bad lookin face, and since it wasn't inconsistent with the lore (because when you get reconstructed from an burned hollow...looking different than before death is not technically impossible)

With everything finally downloaded to the Xbox One, I realized that my file saves on the Xbox 360 are all created using a Xbox profile that is not Live enabled...so... I'm having to start a new Trilogy run.
Sienna Shepard was named for her dark red hair. She's a soldier class since I don't have any bonus powers available and I want to play on Veteran to unlock Insanity for the next run (if I decide to eventually regain all the achievements). Her class may change going into ME2.
The goal in this run is to acquire 4 charm and 4 intimidate points by the end of the run through acquisition of the free points available and without assigning any other skills point to either the charm or intimidate category. This will mean that she will not be able to resolve a number of the conflicts in the game and the order in which I do quests will be important to ensure that she can earn enough of the appropriates charm/intimidate points to get all 4 points in both categories by the end of the game. She will be romancing Kaidan and he will survive on Virmire so that his romance will still be available when Sienna gets to ME3 and also so that I can unlock the Reave bonus power in ME3.

From what I heard both consoles have USB and a file explorer. That way, at least achievements and bonus powers for ME1 could be retained.

So far though, it looks like the Xbox One demands that every profile has an Xbox Live connection to it. The Xbox 360 had the feature where you could create any number of "offline only" profiles with no registration with Xbox Live. My "Mass Effect Only" profile is of this type. If I transfer it over, I think the Xbox One is going to ask that I register it with Xbox Live... and I really don't want a second Xbox Live account.
