On the Nexus forums for DAI, a person stated that, "The 30fps lock workaround was made obsolete by one of the patches (maybe 6 or 7? Can't remember...)" and then later on, "Whatever the problem was that required the fps lock was fixed. From that point using a workaround to force fps lock (up or down) became counter-productive, introducing new issues with audio/video syncing during cutscenes." I have read through all of the patch notes and haven't seen anything about it. Now, of course it could be that this was an undocumented change and the devs communicated this on the forums or some other platform. But this is the first I've heard of it. Can anyone give more information, or show proof or something? Also, if I leave the fix in place, is it just inert, or is it now actually harmful to my play? The only thing I ever heard about it from a dev was shortly after the game released.

I don't use it myself, but apparently there is an issue if it is enabled during character creation. Once you complete your character and start running from the spiders, the rest of the cutscene doesn't trigger and you are left free roaming, but stuck, in the fade.
That is the only issue I have heard of, though.
