No one on my friends list was on yesterday so I started pugging. Nothing in NM or perilous. Drop down to threatening and see these three characters in their new accounts. Didn't join because I don't want to hijack your games but maybe I should have joined and just watched I bet there was a lot of scrambling, hiding, knockdowns, death from fire wraiths, etc! I distinctly remember how much I hated the Demon faction in my early days. Those army of wraiths used to hurt. By the way, can anyone confirm or deny if you are invincible on threatening (physically at least) with the Drakescale armor with no or little promotes? |

No one on my friends list was on yesterday so I started pugging. Nothing in NM or perilous. Drop down to threatening and see these three characters in their new accounts. You forgot kicking, screaming and a lot of newly formed swear words! I can't say anything about 'Drakescale Armor' since all I get are rocks, charcoal and that one solitary "gluten-free" cookie. Much like the 'Ham', I really don't think it's a cookie. Perhaps it was a new secret weapon that I salvaged out of frustration amidst my kicking, screaming and new swear words |

Hahaha I almost fell down from my chair by laughing when I saw that you joined our pug lobby, sat there for a while then left without a word before I was able to put a kick vote on you! You are right I hate Demon so much...especially when playing Zither! who doesn't have any active ability to help him avoid all the knock-downs. Every time after being revived, Envy would pop underneath and one-shot me right back to death again. Also got killed a few times by the "heavy" melee damage of Fear demon when he teleported to me. Not to mention the screaming Terror and Despair demons. Wraiths are the least bit of concern of mine. I don't have Drakescale armor yet, nor do I expect that I can get them soon. They hugely negate physical attacks for sure but I doubt one can become completely immune to physical damage on threatening by merely wearing Drakescale armor with no promotions. At least not for mages or rogues I think. |

I've started my other playstation account from scratch about a week ago, and I must say, the struggle is real! I do have to remember to stop salvaging everything! Unlocked a lot of characters so far.
So one quick anecdote to the cause; I unlocked a purple level 20 dagger, about 270 dps without rune and had some offhand that was 170 dps. I got the Assassin's mantle, so here I was thinking 'great! I can probably stealth and one shot a lot of enemies on threatening!' NOT THE CASE! I facepalmed at the first qunari foot soldier that I tried to twin fang when his health only suffered about a 40% loss. And then I was one shotted, again and again and into the fade. The couple players carried me through the rest of the match, and I had to message an apology for being so terrible.

Embrace the squishiness!This is where you see how much you've really learned about builds and tactics That said, the assassin more than almost any character seems to struggle against the grunts who can quickly whirl around to avoid backstabs. I remember when I got the Boson's Blade- I was expecting to one-shot most things on Nightmare, only to be forced to scramble against darkspawn archers and grunts... :-( |

Dagger's dps can be very misleading sometimes...It's usually 2~3 times as high as its base damage. A 270 dps dagger's actual weapon damage could be only 90~100+. Plus qunari faction has higher armor rating than others that decreases the final damage further... I think they have extra armor penetration too. On threatening my non-promote lego can lose 50% health to one swing of shock trooper when not blocking. The fact that I was wearing starting armor doesn't help either.  But the most inconvenient thing I've found so far is playing without any HoK. It's not like I have huge health pool or maxed defense to neutralize all the damage anymore. For now I can only rely on healing potions/barrier/guard/sacrificing a keeper with Cycle Of Life to survive. On the other hand I don't want to spend all my hard earned routine/threatening gold on buying potions...I think I'll be stuck with Zither! and his Sing Along until I get a 2% HoK ring or something. |

^ I've experienced this error several times since I started the new account. Witty, Teeth and me ended up celebrating our first grand threatening victory by having a server disconnection in the end and losing all our exp. I wonder if it's a problem of the trial version? |

I was on yesterday morning and completed 2 threatenings that went to the infinite downloading data screen then came up with an error. I got my items and gold but no exp. As for the HoK, I am working with 2% and its still damn hard! Waiting to get a couple decent weapons either with HoK like dragon or pile up some cloth for HoK weapon upgrades.

And keeping me and others alive in the process! But that's part of what's great about starting from scratch - every character's skills and knowledge of positional play are needed to survive. This is part of what makes Zither so valuable. Lego's taunt and shield wall keeps the heat and projectiles off of Zither. Zither surveys the situation and provides the appropriate buff, be it health, increased dps or barrier. Another class weakens the enemy or disables them, or protects the whole party. Someone else then kills everything. The most fun part for me of playing a new agent is that it makes careful team play and COMPOSITION essential. No more charging in heedless of the situation (well, except for bolters I guess)! The minute I found myself soloing NM with my Necro or Alchemist, I realized the co-op part of the game was becoming a choice vs. a necessity. You were playing that role perfectly the other night with your Lego against the Red Templars even though your health was red-lining. Look for corners. Wait for barrier. Engage enemy. Build guard. Run for the next corner :-) That being said, I hate Zither. For the record. Hate. Him. :rage:
