I would have liked to have known what happened once the Inquisition was cut down to size/disbanded. In the main game epilogues it seems almost universal to whichever person is given power that they are only retaining it with the backing of the Inquisition. In Briala's case, with Gaspard as her puppet, the only reason the nobles aren't moving against her is because they respect the Inquisition and, if the Inquisitor is elven, because they fear her alliance with them.
So with hindsight, it would seem that Celene/Briala has a marginally better chance of improving the situation for the elves than Briala directing Gaspard. However, neither sounded particularly hopeful since the epilogue hints that the reconciliation between Celene and Briala may not be a lasting one. They are still together at the beginning of Trespasser but then the Inquisition is still all powerful. Ditto Briala in charge of Gaspard. Sera mentions how the servants seem happy, which she finds disconcerting, but I'm sure things would have soon reverted to normal. Plus there would seem no reason for elves to be leaving their posts and joining Solas if things were improving for them. Whilst there is no mention of events in Orlais subsequent to the DLC, except with relation to the Divine, I suspect that next game there will be some sort of codex to the effect that Orlais has revered to civil war once again and any titles that Briala had have been rescinded, if she is even still alive.

BioWare is a very american-minded, very family-friendly company internally with its staff. Several couples work together at the studio who are mom and dad and most writers are also middle aged men (or they were).
I noticed when I played KOTOR for the first time in 2014 as well. Every friggin quest is something "uh, my husband this that", "My wife has gone missing" and stuff like that and that repeats in every game.
BioWare writers are uninspired and lack real-life experience to get ideas from.

Yeah, they're all assholes. I just find Briala/Celene to be the least objectionable combination of assholes. In their defense, Orlais isn't exactly a place that breeds nice people. It's pretty much Westeros with French accents. Sometimes I wonder if Orlais' decadence and manifest destiny are some kind of meta joke. Like far too much of modern genre fantasy, Dragon Age was heavily inspired by Lord of the Rings, and Tolkein hated the French .
Right, because only writers show concern for their family .

As per request by PapaCharlie9 , I'm starting a thread to discuss the oddities with families in BioWare games. Papa, feel free to tweet this like you suggested. I'm putting stuff into spoiler tags to save on space. The Dead Parents/Estranged Family trope is a common one in fantasy games and I'm normally okay with it. However, it's become an overused and almost creepy trend in BioWare games. What's more is that at least one parent goes unnamed by the party members. You can look up their Codex and their parents might both have names. I always found that a little weird. I mean, they'll share the name of one parent and not the other. Or they are on bad terms with their living family. Let's take a look at the list. The MET is as bad, but I'll focus on Dragon Age for now. I'm going to try to stick to characters that mention their family. I am adding Circle Mage characters to the list. It doesn't mean that their parents are dead, but I haven't met a party member outside of Bethany that remained close to their family after joining the Circle. Also, Josie and Cullen do mention being on good terms with their family and their families are doing well. However, of course these aren't party members. DA:OHuman Warden: Both parents are named and happy. Of course, the player has to watch them get ready to die.
Not all the human wardens, human wardens can also be circle mages.

The problem for the Circle Mages in origins is that in the case of the human mage, they have been transferred to a Circle away from their immediate family, so harder to stay in touch, and it would seem the Amells are rather ashamed of producing another mage in the family, so probably didn't make much of an effort to do so. However, with Surana, elf mage, it would simply be a case that as a peasant they weren't given the option of staying in touch whether their parents wanted to or not. When talking with Zevran I recall my Surana speaking warmly of her mother because I assumed that they had been parted against their will and she did have fond memories of her.
