HI folks i wanted to ask why in DAO when the Archdemon is killed it's body explode like if there was a bomb in it it doesn't make any sense to me. Hakkon from DAI was a magical dragon as well but it didn't exploded like dynamite when it was defeated,The Orb of Fen'Harel did but there was a loss of magical enregy for that to happen.
So the explosion cannot be caused by the soul of the archdemon because if it is so then it means that each time it is killed there is a loss of magical energy from the part of the soul and that implies that each time an Archdemon is reborn with adarkpsawn vessel it should become more weaker, but that did not happened with Dumat.

I Believe that the explosion shockwave was something the animators wanted to add for cinematic purposes because is more cool with it than without it. Is a trope I've already seen in fantasy when the villain is defeated(especially if it had magical powers) it's body implode somehow.
Or maybe there is truly a loss of magical energy when an Archdemon is killed(that wouldn't even be a retcon but just a further explanation) and it becomes more weaker who know? Look at Corypheus as soon as you kill his Dragon he becomes more weaker even if he was immortal.
And if that is true than it means that Kieran is a lot weaker than the Archdemon of DAO.

The great explosion a cool effect in many people's eyes. So dramatic! (Not really, if you ask me, but probably i'm a minority.)

Maybe the boom has something to do with the destruction of the old god soul within the archdemon or it's a side effect of the dark ritual and the passing of the old god soul to another being.
Or it simply looks cool.

Definitely an element added for cool/dramatic purposes considering how not even Riordan informed you about that.
The explosion would make more sense when the soul is destroyed as a result of the collision of souls but it doesn't make sense with the DR.
Also how can a warden survive to that explosion in the face if they did the DR is beyond me....if they use Loghain/Alistair to kill the Archdemon they are not that close to the source of the explosion so that they survive it make sense, with the ritual instead even if the soul is not absorbed by them they are still so close to the explosion that they shouldn't have being able to be undamaged by it.

There is no logic behind the explosion triggered at the very end in DAO,the Archdemon was a creature made of flesh not a stick of dynamite,The Red lyrium Dragon does not explode just because it had a piece of an immortal soul.
Plus I've always found the resolution of DAO (sacrifice and ritual) to be inherent plot holes for reasons i gave elsewhere.
