Hello peeps,
What do you expect/want from the Normandy Tempest? How many decks will it have? Will it blend? Will it come with a Coffe Machine? Thoughts?

Hello peeps, What do you expect/want from the Normandy Tempest? How many decks will it have? Will it blend? Will it come with a Coffee Machine? Thoughts? What do you expect/want from the Normandy Tempest? Not much, I consider expectations to be ... overblown. How many decks will it have? Maybe only three, five tops, but in the lounge/bar/poker room, it will have at least six on average.
Will it blend? Hell, it won't just blend, it will slice, it will dice, it will make Julian fries.
Will it come with a Coffee Machine? Espresso or GTFO.
Thoughts? Umm, none today, taking some time off.

deck 1 - comms, CIC, conference room deck 2 - mess hall, med bay, game room, sleeping quarters deck 3 - maintenance, drive core, sleeping quarters for maintenance personnel deck 4 - Mako, upgrades for armor and weapons
I like for the cabin that Ryder stay in to have a bed, desk, latrine and a shelf for personal items
The c**kpit to have a pilot, navigator and co-pilot.
There will be an intelligence officer, an XO who doesn't go on missions

I'd definitely like to see more prominant non-fireteam characters. I really like what they did with Traynor and Cortez, but I'd like to see more crew members be lively figures on the ship that can interact with other characters and maybe move around. The return of a proper XO would be nice as well.

I'd definitely like to see more prominant non-fireteam characters. I really like what they did with Traynor and Cortez, Its unfortunate that Sam didn't have a scene on the Citadel in the base game. I like to see that as well. I'm a big supporter of crew members getting their "10 minutes of fame" so to speak. It would be nice if crew members and squadmates were seen talking with each other. The only times that was seen was Joker with Garrus, James and Liara and Steve talking with James Pressly was alright The problem I had with Miranda being XO was she could be on missions with Shepard. What's the point of having an XO if that XO isn't on the ship?

I agree it will make sense to have an intel or science officer-specialist to sift through all the new things that will be discovered. Unless the new masked Asari is a sympathetic native scout and a jack-of-all-knowledge about everything in the Helios Cluster, someone or several others on the ship will need to have a background in exobiology, exobotany, exogeology, and well exo-everything. I'm going to miss having Mordin around!

Hello peeps, What do you expect/want from the Normandy Tempest? How many decks will it have? Will it blend? Will it come with a Coffe Machine? Thoughts? A water cooler so Ryder and his squaddies and crew have an official place to dialogue and gossip. Oh, and that sushi chef from the Citadel better in some way have managed to end up in Andromeda just to be the head chef on the Tempest. And a Starbucks on one of the decks.

Like, imagine this plaque, but made by someone who wasn't me and who actually knew: 1. How to use Photoshop. 2. Literally anything about the Tempest beyond her name. That's what I want. It'd look fancy as a fancy thing on the wall of the bridge/CIC. #shamefulplug

First Off, I'll start with my big whinge:
The Galaxy map needs updating.
Mass Effect 1 was actually OK. You used the map to look at star clusters check out what systems were there and then jump. Nothing much wrong there.
But in ME2 and ME3, you couldn't see what was in a cluster, even one you'd already visited without physically flying there. Seriously? Same with systems in a cluster.
And then, the whole system of the Normandy doing a drunken stagger following the cursor around couldn't feel less like navigating a space ship if it tried. We have the best pilot in the alliance, but we regularly overshoot planet orbits because we kept our finger on the mouse half a second too long. "Sorry, Commander. I'll just to a quick u turn and we'll try again"
It lothes me to say it, but Argh! My immershunz!
I hope they rethink this or at least make it like the original.
/End rant
Being more positive:
One thing I'd really like, is some encounters in space or in orbit where you have some control over events. Nothing like real time combat or anything, but command choices through the dialogue wheel or something. It could be a bit star treky, with conversation with ship captains, or making decisions whether to take an aggressive posture (raising shields, charging weapons), neutral (raise shields, keep distance), friendly or retreating.
Something like that. Nothing too involved and details aren't that important. Just something to open up the idea of commanding a ship outside of it being just home and transport.
If it comes to a fight or fleeing, your ship stats could be important.
I liked being able to have ship upgrades in ME2, but it was only really used for the end for very binary outcomes. If used throughout the game, it could be more interesting. Consequences for having a weak ship need not be catastrophic. Maybe you just need to retreat and repair
As others have mentioned, more crew interaction would be good. I'd actually go a little further and have them more like squad members. So you could recruit new ones for key posts with different skills and rotate them. Maybe even level them. This could influence the outcome of engagements.
This is all probably too much to expect, of course.

Snip I liked being able to have ship upgrades in ME2 Snip ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ My understanding is that we must upgrade the ship. So, there you go. Why upgrade? It is possible the Tempest enters into combat and a cinematic shows the results based on the ship's upgrades. Our ship getting damaged early in the game, with a Khet war ship for example, is an incentive for us to go exploring and upgrading. I have a feeling that the Tempest is there to get us from point A to B and nothing more. It's a formula that worked in the trilogy. A manually controlled combat capable Tempest will change the dynamic of the game, imo. It forces the designers to use it often enough that makes exploration a secondary plot arc. Mind, taking control of a Tempest combat parasite craft isn't a bad idea. Unfortunately, the emphasis is on the Mako = exploration = open spaces = Bio better fill in these spaces with interesting things to do.

I'm expecting a similar layout to the original Normandy, just with a faster lift, since the game'll be running on faster hardware. The CIC will be in middle of the command deck, being Human-centric, and the coffe machine, not so sure. The coffee machine though, i imagine will be awesome, as well as the espresso machine, and will provide only the best synthetic blends. There might even a purple-dragons blend if the new Asari is as wile as she looks. And if location's not already obvious, it'll be placed by the CIC, giving the higher-ups quick access to the much desired "brain juice" and the rest of the crew, while they can access the CIC machine, prefer the one in the mess hall, giving them the necessary exercise while taking a brief break from their duties.
The former CIC will house stairs to the extended lounge and mess hall for everyone to kick back after they've received their decedent beaned beverage.
Captain and second-in-command's quarters will be on the same level as the CIC. The crew's quarters and the rest of the layout will be the same as the Normandy's.

What I expect to see is: 1- no fish tank 2- a trophy wall 3- a photo wall of the gang as the game progresses and of snapshots Ryder takes. 4- a bed, couch, desk and no shower stall 5- a comm system for email, orders,.. etc.
Off topic a bit. I really like the ability for Ryder to take in-game snapshots to be put on Ryder's photo wall and to convert them as PC wallpapers (assuming the awesome graphics and resolution is worth it).

Mass Effect: Andromeda may have seamless transitions between some maps (ie: space navigation between solar systems) but I really doubt it's the case for all maps (ie: between orbit and landing the Mako or loading saved game files).
I did a search on long load times and recent AAA titles suffer from this affliction. The size of the map areas can contribute to this phenomenon. With Bio saying ME:A is larger that any previous ME games don't be surprised if seamless only applies to certain adjacent maps.

Actually, I'm not expecting any of that. I'm not even expecting there to a quarters for us. I expect this to be a very science-y vessel. In other words, a place for samples to grow, a place for determinations to be made under a microscope, a place for calculations to be performed, and most of all, a cartography place.
In the last series of games, we didn't need to any of these things (except in 2). The computer already knew all about the cartography of the MW universe. Here, we have no idea of what we're dealing with. Maybe by the end of the game, we'll have some better understanding of how the universe is situated as far as what races control which sectors of space.
