Oh yeah I definitely don't blame people who don't wanna sub for bailing out. Everyone has their limits and there's nothing wrong with them. And I agree on the relationship ending with him grunting in annoyance being bad. I'm not even sure why that's there when he respectfully leaves to begin with? So odd.
But yeah Bull romance and wanting to dominate is like my attempts to have a casual FWB with Dorian. It's not gonna go well.

I read the grunt as more of a "(hnnng) But damn, you're still sexy" rather than annoyance. Not the most tactful thing, but I find it a part of it's charm. Can see how it can be off putting. I figure he's been holding back when Quizzy's flirting, since if he would start anything with them it would be monogamous since you don't sleep around when you are banging the leader. And he knows his tastes aren't for everyone, so he waits until he feels certain Quizzy really wants him. And when he comes up to the room he gives them three chances. First time he has steeled himself, if Quizzy is not interested then it's fine, he read the signals wrong, apologizes and leaves. Second time, Quizzy at least seems to be interested, but they heed his warnings. "Exactly. So don't worry about it. Let's just keep killing things. We're really good at that. For what's it worth, though... (Grunts.) You'd've been walking funny the next day. " I read the grunt as more of a "(hngh) But damn you're still sexy" with a hint of I noticed your flirts and I appreciated them, even if nothing came out of it. Could he have worded it better, absolutely. But he leaves right away, there is no touching and this is not a pause to get Quizzy second guessing or asking him to stay. Third time, he just says "Goodnight Inquisitor". He gives a bit of a weird look. Like mix of worried and really? now? Admittedly, my Quizzys face made her look tiny and scared, despite being a big Qunari, so I might have read something more into his face. But no grunts, not a single second of hesitation letting them go and leaves fairly quickly. But I tend get way too defensive of him. Have to ask him to teach me his zen moves. Also if he can squish his legs like that, then kissing dwarves shouldn't be a big problem.

Curious CrowYou seem to be talking about the before sex talk? I was talking about the after sex talk. But if we are talking about the same thing, then ya, definitely different points of view on that grunt.

phoray Scratch that. I know the grunt. It's the "(Hnnh) You got it boss". Right? Yep I was talking about the pre-sex chat. I got more of a mild "You made me explain all that and then backed out. Oh well." out of it than any real annoyance. But I can see how it can be off putting.

BDSM or not, I like Bull romance. Trespasser is yet to come in, but so far this is the best romance for me in Inquisition. He's far not my type, but he's badass, funny and serious – so: absolutely good! (I hope, the Trespasser does not bring disappoint!)

The banter with him and Iron Bull related mostly to the romance, and it was personally my favorite moment in the dlc.

Oh yes I tend to bring Cole around Plus in the normal game the tied down banter is easily my favorite. Solas comment never fails to make me giggle.

I have to admit that the "I know what you need" line in relation to the BDSM is what puts me off the IB romance. In my mind I'm immediately thinking of the Ben'Hasrath methods of mind control and it doesn't help that he even references that. Isn't that the whole Qunari philosophy that they know what is best for you and you must accept it even if you don't agree? If it is really what he needs, then why not say so? That's fair enough and is something I might then agree to for his sake, but to suggest he is doing it because he "knows" that's what you need and then you can't say that he is wrong on that score but you are still interested in him, just doesn't feel right. Like Phoray, I just wouldn't be able to get past that, so Bull remains off limits so far as romance is concerned.
To be honest I wouldn't enjoy our relationship being discussed so openly either and I tend to find Cole's comments excruciatingly embarrassing, not just about Bull but when he blurts out every person's inner feelings for everyone to overhear, particularly when the person is clearly distressed by his doing this - somewhat odd for a spirit of compassion when you think about it.

Not too odd when you consider how spirits are compared to people. You think something in the fade and it happens. It lends itself more to bluntness.
But I'm kind of used to adjusting my characters to make a romance make sense. They only have so many lines after all.

If you take away the Bondage...I sort of still like the lines about him giving what you need. Mainly cause, it's so much more then just the kink-he really takes care of his kadan in battle and in the bedroom. Honestly that is what I need in a relationship, and I'm glad there is a relationship like that for once-as I don't think we've had someone really take control before in the past.

I was watching Freddie Prinze Jr play DAI on Twitch while playing the IB romance myself and I felt really awkward Immersion was totally ruined!

I am kind of mixed on if I would have enjoyed seeing Freddie play that game or not. Either way, I generally don't like let's plays that are live. Seems like the amount of people logged in tends to make the video stream less stable for me. I wonder if it was saved on twitch or youtube?

I did enjoy the rest of the stream. He talked about auditioning and how he came up with Bull's voice. But to be reminded that the person behind the voice of a character is someone else than the character is immersion breaking for me You can watch it on his Twitch channel if you want to, here's the link:

As much as I like the Bull, I can never bring myself to romance him. Something about his romance rubs me the wrong way, and I'm not sure what it is. I'm not into BDSM, but I could overlook it, it's mentioned like twice. Not a fan of starting with casual sex either, but I could live with that. Romancing the Bull just always seems so out of character for my Inquisitors. I was kinda close once with an elf, but had to stop playing him. He just didn't fit the story at all. He was such a jerk that no one in their right mind would name him Inquisitor. And even if they did, there's no way he'd accept it.

He's not my favorite romance of the DA-series, but probably I can say, that he's my fav romance in Inquisition. Of course, I don't want to persuade you to romance him, just I want to say, that he's much more serious, than seems at first sight. I romanced him with a Vasoth mage, and I think, that was a good choice. Seems they stayed together, even if the duty called away them from each other from time to time. I was pleasantly surprised.

I know it gets deeper with time, I've watched the whole thing on YouTube. But the thing is - to me it starts in a really weird way. I mean, if someone just showed up unannounced in one my Inquisitors' room expecting to bang them, they'd all kick that someone out immediately. If you could talk to him then and there about it being more than a casual thing, I would be perfectly fine with the whole romance. Because the later scenes are actually pretty good, way better than I expected.

Yesterday, when I played with my Trevelyan he appeared in his room, but he's not with him, so, he admitted, that the flirt was fun, but thanks, he don't want more, and Bull left. Was a temptation, because he's a lone wolf, but he's a lone wolf. (And he hopelessly in love with Cullen. Haha, stupid, yes...)

The way I roleplay, my Trevelyan is very unhappy with being declared the Herald of Andraste. He wrote off both Dorian and Blackwall pretty quickly when he found out that they bought into that BS. With Bull, he found someone that he could hang out with without having to worry about living up to some impossible ideal, and the physical attraction sprung from there. It developed into a pretty serious crush even before Bull's personal mission, but Trevelyan didn't act on it because he knew that Bull couldn't be trusted as long as he was with the Qun. But when Bull showed up in Trevelyan's room after becoming Tal-vashoth, he decided to throw caution to the wind for once in his life. He wanted a serious relationship from the beginning, but wasn't sure how to go about expressing that. Once that issue was sorted out, being with Bull gave Trevelyan a sense of security that he hadn't felt since his magic manifested over twenty years before.
