You started that line? I'll need proof Nah. I got it from someone else. It is also in-game so technically writers found it first

In terms of personality, the Iron Bull is the biggest bro in the history of brotherhood. But do you find him physically attractive? I find him physically attractive in general, but coupled with his voice he is the most beautiful guy in the series for me. And in a bit longer terms: His body type is my favorite combination that men can have. Tall, muscular and has a bit of fat as well. So he looks like a guy who can enjoy life, but is also really, really strong. Also his skin is nice, because it looks soft and stretchy, not thin and plastic like so of the extreme bodybuilders. And he's so tall, it's amazing. His face depends. I don't find it very attractive when it's still and blank (especially if I haven't seen him for very long). But then he starts speaking and emoting and he is the most beautiful man in the world.

I mean, he's impressive, but I can't say, that he's attractive. Sexy in his own way, but I needed his personality to enjoy the romance. And I romanced him in my third PT, when I already knew him; now I can say, that he's my favorite romance in DAI. Much better, than I expected.

In terms of personality, the Iron Bull is the biggest bro in the history of brotherhood. But do you find him physically attractive? I didn't find him very handsome prior to launch, and was afraid he was just a sex joke and a rip off of 50 shades of grey, which is from what I've heard pretty horrible fan fiction of Twilight. Anywho, he turned out to be a really awesome guy and the more I got to know him in the game-the more I started to appreciate his smile and one eye is quite soulful-also his tats really work for him and I always craft that one armor for him that shows his arm tats all the time. That's like the best thing ever! So his looks grew on me, and yeah I'd say he's very handsome to me now.

I loved the IB romance with my male Lavellan. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that "you ass" was the last thing my inquisitor said in the main game. lol I did not mind the BDSM, but I do not self insert at all, and try to create really different personalities for my inquisitors. None of my other inquisitors would have asked him to stay. I also love the screenshots I got of my inquisitor half naked None of the other romances I have done have yielded any good screenshots. My poor dwarven female with Blackwall was cringe worthy!

Every time, when I think, I can't possible like Bull more, he does something adorable or is just sweet. I was really surprised how much approval I get with Bull in the group, when I do the quest for the elven widower in Redcliffe and bring flowers to his wifes Sennas grave. Under all this martial looks seems to beat the soul of a romantic

Iron Bull is the most romantic romance in BioWare history possibly. Though sadly most people don't get past the s&m factor. Oh well, at least some people like it (and I can overlook it).

Plus, like Zevran, he is actually not only your boyfriend, but a true friend, you can talk to and who listens to you and ask about how you feel after a dangerous mission (I had those dialogues with Bull after every major event).

Honestly, I think the issue that people have with Bull's romance isn't so much that there's BDSM, it's how it's presented. I think if it had been presented as a preference for Bull, instead of Bull basically saying he knows what's better for the Inquisitor than they do, it may have gone over much more smoothly.
I think it would have been better if he had said something like this: "Look, I've been through a lot of shit, and I know I can't control pretty much anything that happens to me. This is one of the few things that I feel like I can control, and I use it to help me cope. I understand if it's not for you, and I would never cross any boundaries that you set up, but it's just what I need." If he had said something like that, then I feel like people would have been much more understanding. That's Bull basically saying his preferences, explaining why he has them, and laying it out on the table. That's something I think people could respect and be more okay with.
Instead, they had Bull basically go "Even though you're in control of this massive army and are in charge of saving the world, I know better than you do, so we're going to do things my way because that's what I think you need, period." THAT'S what really gets people turned off on the romance, in my opinion. Another issue is that by Bull speaking like that, and saying "I'd never hurt you without your permission", people went "Oh crap, he's into some super kinky stuff that makes me uncomfortable, so this is going to be a pass for me."
So basically, I'm not sure that the issue with Bull is so much that the relationship has (at least) elements of BDSM, it's how its presented to the players.
The writers left a lot of details up to the players imagination. They didn't explicitly say how far the BDSM goes (they hint at different aspects, but not too blatantly or too much), they try to leave that up to the player's preferences/imaginations. But the way that Bull presents it in his dialogue and tone doesn't truly reflect that. That's what I think the real issue is with his romance. Anyone who plays all the way through his romance really loves him and thinks he's great, it's just that first hurdle you have to go through that gets people.

It's wonderful how doms always know how to treat their submissive partners without any discussion on that topic in every single book/tv series/game, don't you think? I agree with you and it makes me little sad they presented this part of romance as fan-fictiony and stereotypically as possible. Apart from that, I think TIB's romance is one of the best and memorable in any Bioware game.

Apart from that, I think TIB's romance is one of the best and memorable in any Bioware game. I do agree- again, I think the issue is just how it was presented to the players, not the actual BDSM itself (again, they did a pretty good job of leaving the details up to the players themselves). Bull is a giant, cuddly, protective, loving partner by the end of the game; it's a shame so many people seem to get turned off by that first poorly-written romantic foray. I myself will be the first to admit that I am not big into several aspects of what's presented in BDSM (I'm all for a bit of tie-me-up-tie-you-down play, but definitely not pain or S&M), but when I pushed past that, the relationship was really so sweet and supportive.

What is your favorite race/gender/type of character to romance Bull with? I'm starting a new game only for his romance (and to finally punch Solas in the face) but I can't think of an interesting character to play with. All I know is that it has to be a redhead. Red-heads. Red-heads. I made a red-head f!Trevelyan and a red-head f!Cadash both to romance him. I am planning a red-head f!Lavellan to romance him as well.

Romance aside, I'm still disappointed we never got to implement Bull's teased Fastball Special . Launch Sera into the air for Death From Above, throw Blackwall to smash enemy shieldwalls, get someone on the other side of a dragon... MAYHEM !!! If they couldn't let us do in-game, they could have at least put it into an action cutscene. Oh well, maybe next time...

I really wish there was an opportunity for the Inquisitor to chime in on that banter, especially since my 'canon' Inquisitor is a dual wielding dwarf who would be just perfect for throwing. (Considerably less dense than Varric! Stabby ball of murder!)

I was intending to romance him with my red-head Trevelyan as a joke but I am actually getting quite attached to his romance. He's like that. You go in expecting so little, and what you get is so much more. I only gave him a shot cause Dorian glitched and I never got his personal quest. Best glitch ever it turns out, cause Iron Bull's romance path is so much more rewarding. I'm glad he was my first romance in the game.
