What do you guys think, from that super-informative two second preview we saw, his personality is going to be like? Or that you're hoping it's like? Personally, I'm up for anything! Though a grumpy snake-cat-squid would be lovely. There's not enough grumpy characters. Someone to challenge Ryder would be fun too, I'm a sucker for the enemies to friends/lovers trope. (Probably not actual enemies, but more initial skepticism/dislike would be the case.) Or maybe a super intellect with a sharp tongue. Who knows? I'm already sold. ( I'm a shallow sucker for purty eyes) I say no grumpy. We've just had Javik in similar role (alien that's totally alien to the current cycle's races) |

I'm kind of loving the angaran design. I definitely see why people are drawing SW parallels. Jaal reminds me of Kit Fisto and the female angaran design definitely looks like a female twilek.
I'll have to see him in action, but so far, I'm not mad at Jaal.

I gotta say, while I would've liked a Kett squaddie, Jaal being Angaran and our squadmate has really grown on me. I'm hoping he's an LI for broRyder. I wonder if it was his voice we heard in the first cinematic trailer, the one saying "I've got a bad feeling." It sounded rather nice  |

I don't know if there was info on what the kett-anagram-human relationships, but if Angarans are some sort of a resistance-nationalistic movement and Kett are empire-like power, the potential of Jaal to be cast as underground liaisons there. Whatever it is, I am hoping Jaal has strong, fast, descision character, but the same ability to see reason and alternatives that Zenith has. I mean, even the sniper rifle reminds me of Zenith. |

They look cool. The side shots from the earlier video didn't look great. But straight-on, they look a lot better. I take it the front guy is male and that he's the one speaking. And obscured mostly but behind is a female and if you look to the right you see another female. Then on the far left a male in armor.

I don't like them. Their design is a mess imo. Too much information at once, there is no elegance to it. Just a mix of different aspects competing for the viewer attention, not an alien race but a convoluted creation. The Kett are the same.
They also give me a furry vibe, you know? Like when you search some character on tumblr and find a furry version of them.
