Your Ryder and his pops are SMOKIN'! Thanks! Pity I didn't have more (better) facial hair options, and the hair color should probably have been a bit lighter. I was surprised when Ryder Sr. also turned out pretty good. Nice dark-blue eyes. Kudos! Not easy to get right!

Playing around with some modding... This is preset 9 with default Sara's skin texture and preset 1's normal map. Also, the mod that unlocks the paler skin tones, which you can find on the Nexus site. Really don't get why these options didn't ship with the game... Was trying to make a girl that could conceivably be default Scott's twin. Unfortunately it's very obvious Alec is not our biological father . Open MEA Explorer (not gonna explain how to install it, there's a bunch of tutorials out there) 2. FS > Load FS > Navigate to MassEffectAndromeda.exe (or just load it at startup) 3. Navigate to FS > TOC > Data/Win32/Characters_sp.toc 4. Right click on the one you want to change (the one ending in pathfinder_female_customized in this case), choose "Load into VFS" 5. Navigate to VFS > Root > Game > Characters > Human > HMF > Heads. For the default preset's texture pick the "jayde" preset. Navigate to pca > textures and export (right click) diffuse_mean.res. Navigate to "amy" (that's preset 1), got to pca > textures and export normal_mean.res. 8. Now navigate to the "cora" preset (that's 9) and import the textures you just exported over diff_mean.res and norm_diff.res (also under pca > textures) All done!
Here's a guide to the preset names if you want to mix and match other textures: default = Jayde, 1 = Amy, 2 = Ana, 3 = Emily, 4 = Susan, 5 = Mariah, 6 = Desiree, 7 = Biftu, 8 = Raylene, 9 = Cora. EDIT: Nevermind, was able to isolate Donald due to the tell-tale strong wrinkle across his forehead. Donald = 9. I added preset 9 skin texture to some presets and they look nice, I know, I'm preset 9 lover haha . Well, hell bells, there is no Steve. Yeah, complexion sliders would be so awesome. I really don't understand why they weren't included. I had assumed it was because the face scans made it so the UV maps for each head might not be the same. Where the textures wouldn't match up to other heads. But obviously it's not the case. Same with the skin tones. Paler ones than what we got are totally do-able and they look fine. But yeah, you should try using the normal map from whichever guy looks the youngest, and pick the diffuse map of whoever's eyebrows/lips/etc. you like best. For the girls I keep going back to preset 1's normal map because it's the smoothest. Sucks about the Steven texture not working. Was hoping to make a pseudo-default Scott I could actually edit for my sibling. I had tried to use Cora Harper's texture on a preset and it also crashed, so it does seem that for now we're limited to whatever's in the same location. Still, at least it's something! Since there's still no word on when the patch is coming or what the CC improvements will actually be.

I think it's better to redone the character in cc if you want to use that texture to modify some parameters because it makes your makeup darker at least with preset 9 .

Does this texture swap only work with new CC creations or will it work on existing CC Ryders? It works on existing Ryders too but with some presets it's preferable to tweak the makeup a bit in cc for better looking.

OMG, OMG, does it EVER work on a saved game!!! My Ryder was preset 6, the one of the dark annoying shadow under the brow. He was always a looker despite it, but now, I get that anime quality ridiculously handsome guy (who can actually pass for 22 in Eladeen's flattering light): Vasco Ryder, Before, typical preset #6 (Vik), note the weird shading under the right brow: Vasco Ryder, now, Shane's famously glowing skin, Mike's achingly gorgeous rad shadow-free brow: Space magic!
