Normal. I'm okay with that.
Screw Casual. It'd only happen if I'm on like my seventh Ryder (probably not gonna happen) and want to speed through gameplay but without snoozing.
Screw Narrative. It'd only happen if my friend visits to play her ...whatever Ryder (Dany like her Shepard?) and I can feel confident about giving her the controller.
Maybe Hardcore if it gets too easy or NG+.
Insanity for NG+, maybe future playthroughs.
I don't feel like getting maximum challenge ASAP. There's enough of the game to learn that I don't want to get stuck in battle. Yet.
EDIT: For reference I've beat all three on Insanity. ME1 was the spongiest and ME2 was the hardest and ME3 was frankly more like a Hardcore feeling so boo.

Ill go for normal at first, and then drop to casual if I find a monster too strong for me. If I am overpower against my ennemies, ill push the difficulty to the next level.

Just a warning...Insanity is no joke. If you don't have both action/shooter skill AND RPG/tactical skill, I wouldn't recommend it. With UT99 and SC2 experience I should be fine. More than fine. So few understand the power of the darkside. Insanity here as well.

I'm revising my previous answer now I've seen a lot more of the gameplay and read previews and so on. It sounds like difficulty is a step up from before. I'm playing on insanity in ME3 at the moment, but my first time through I started on normal while I was learning the ropes, gradually stepping up as I became more proficient. This time around, I think I will start out on casual, particularly since the wheel has gone - I was a pauser, the whole point of the combat for me was pausing and using my squad's powers in conjunction with mine when and where I wanted, so with that no longer an option it'll take a while for me to get to grips with the change. So, casual to start with, and I'll bump it up to normal probably in the same playthrough once I get used to it. I'd like to be playing on hardcore eventually but we'll see how I get on with the removal of the wheel.

I will start with the hardest difficulty IF available and if my experience is hampered and it is impossible to have fun then I will drop down. After years of normal difficulty I tried recently playing the MET on Insanity and I have enjoyed it a lot ,especially in ME3. I have also played a lot of Bloodborne lately so I have mentally 'trained' the frustration out of me ,meaning I get frustrated less than I used to.

Insanity.
Always insanity.
Because I'm a masochist and can't accept anything other than playing on the most brutal difficulty possible.

Choices... Hardcore, no, Normal, no, Hardcore... can't decide... Decision: Played most of the trial on Normal and did fine, didn't die once. A 'little' too safe for me. Re-started on Hardcore, now much more vulnerable, died twice in three encounters on the first planet. When I got ambushed I died almost immediately (needed to Dash) Hardcore it is.

I checked a lot of the other forums, and googled, but have a question regarding difficulty. I set up the game in the settings the way I want them on the PS4, but have one problem. I cannot find the setting for the difficulty on the PS4. Can someone help please? I am a VERY casual player, and would like the narrative difficulty.

Europe's not quite in yet, so hopefully someone can say where?
