A few months ago, I introduced my younger sister to the world of dragon age (yay!). Needless to say, it was a satisfying experience watching someone else play for the first time. We've had some fun experiences and bonded greatly over the games. But, there is ONE major issue that keeps popping out.
In Dragon Age Origins, my sis ended up romancing Zevran. It was fun and games until he ended up trying to kill her.
In Dragon Age 2, she romanced a rival Fenris. It was beautiful until she sided with the mages and Fenris sided with the Templars.
Now we're in Dragon Age Inquisition. Unsurprisingly, my sister is interested in Solas. I'm not sure she can handle a third betrayal. Should I tell her?

No, don't tell her. Let her experience all those emotions a good video game can bring.

Don't tell her. But the moment she dates anyone in real life, kick his ass out of the house.

I mean: no.
UPDATE: If she is interested in it, you can tell her, where she fucked up with Zevran and Fenris.

Your sister sure knows how to pick them. But I'd be more concerned as to why she can't make a relationship function if they always turn on her.

Overall though, it sounds like your sis just rolls with the punches preferring the chips to fall as they will, without talking to the characters too much, as both Zevran and Fenris are the poster boys for "love conquers all the differences, no matter how unbelievable it is".

If it's any consolation for her, she can always replay for a more successful outcome in the other two games and try for a less depressing romance in the third.
Intervention would usually be recommended if it's causing harm or interference with her life. Otherwise, there's no need to tell her. You can always offer to let her know if she wants a guaranteed happy outcome.

Don't tell her. Would be more fun that way. Though I suppose you can always try to distract her with Cullen or Josephine.

She doesn't find Alistair or Cullen attractive sadly. Even though they would be the safe options. She thought Blackwall was hot but ended up going with Solas because she liked the way he spoke.I keep trying to hint at her to talk with the comps more but it's her first time gaming so I can forgive her for being a noob.

Then don't worry about it, it's her playstyle, and she might enjoy it. Not everyone is attracted to leaving no stone unturned for the sake of the best outcome. If she eventually wants the power of metagaming and nearly full control, she will arrive there herself, and if desired, she can have nearly every companion eating out of the palm of her hand. Also, have you shown her the appearance changing mods? Cullen is too stress-mongering for me as well, but there is a mod for Blackwall makes him look like a maiden's dream. Though save for Dorian, no other male in the game rivals Solas as a conversationalist. And, well, with Dorian, need not apply... Edit: also, if she played an Elf in Origins, Alistair is worse than Zevran, tbh. At least Zevran is a professional, with Alistair you will never see the douche move coming.

Brothers tend to be protective of their sisters. Even in video games. Maybe you guys should read what I wrote next time. Just a suggestion.

If you ask for opinions, then you ought to be prepared for some that you will disagree with. Now, if she wants a happy romance in the game and asks you for advice, then by all means point her towards Cullen. But you haven't said that she is bothered by her previous LIs betraying her, only that you are. If she is not bothered, then let her play the game the way she wants, without unnecessary spoilers from you.

It's not like I was determined to spoil for my sis, just that I was concerned and came looking for some advice. What was hostile about what I said? If she is genuinely so young that she could be traumatized by the betrayal of a video game boyfriend, then she is too young to play these games at all. (And I don't mean just bummed out for a while...we all do that.) If, on the other hand, she is old enough to handle the rest of the game's content, then she is old enough to handle the consequences of an angsty romance choice. I guess I see it as a bit patronizing to ask a bunch of strangers what to do about your sister rather than just taking your cues from her. It isn't that complicated. Ask her how she feels about the outcome of the last two romances and whether she wants some advice this time. If not, then just quit worrying and let her play without interference. She can always play again for a sunshine and rainbows outcome later.

Alistair's romance is good for two reasons - Being Queen Cousland is grand when you've romanced him - And getting a Warden Alistair romance dialogue in DA:I is amazing.
even if it slightly safe...
But BLACKWALL? Wow. I thought he was boring.

It looks like she is consistently going after self-assured male characters with lower, soothing voices. Alistair is jittery and unsure, Anders is neurotic and unsure, and Cullen projects stress like a coiled spring. Blackwall, in his intro is a really cool man, and he perks up if pc flirts right away rather flatteringly. He does not get boring till his next dialogue. Anyway, I think OP got what he wanted.

lol tbh i think she has a thing for beards. And he was pretty confident when you first meet him. Alistair was charming but he was also a 'bumbling fool'.
