Think about it. Solas totally outsmarted her. She didn't notice the infiltration at all.

Go back and think about Leliana's actions throughout DA:I with this in mind. What if... All this time... Leliana was an agent of Solas.

She missed the huge hoard of Templars/Mages walking up to Haven with their big torches and bell ringing, a lot of what was going on in Halamshiral and then Solas. I love her but day-am, I'm looking forward to playing the one IQ I'll have who'll call her out on the Haven thing once they get to Skyhold. The rest have been too damn polite.

I'm totally agree! She doesn't know about Solas, not Blackwall. She doesn't notice a huge army of venatory until they are in Heaven, she couldn't find Hawke or the HoF, all the templars or the Mage (all of them!) suddenly disapear and she doesn't know where... No, she is not very good in her job

No, she is not very good in her job Corypheus' army killed her advance scouts, so that's not on her. And she knows how to contact the Hero of Ferelden in my canon. Also, it would be pretty difficult to determine Solas' true identity, considering virtually everyone who knows him has been dead for several thousand years.

A whole army!! She knows how to contact the HoF in Dai, not in DA2, and she was already a spy master. And Solas can be difficult to discover, but he is moving all the elves in Thedas... I actually like her a lot, but I thought about this before, so I find it funny😀😀

Well, they are not really hidding... A whole army!! That's actually what they're doing, though. The rebel mages/Red Templars vanish after Champions of the Just/In Hushed Whispers, likely to wait for the Herald to close the Breach. And when that happens, Corypheus kills her advance scouts to mask their approach.

I don't think Leliana was fooled by Blackwall. She emphasized that he wasn't what she expected. Additionally, the wardens were really bad at not detecting that he wasn't one; didn't Alistair say wardens could detect the taint?

She allowed two, TWO, assassination attempts.
That's what I judge her for. I was so ticked my first PT when her incompetence put Josephine in danger.

I don't think Leliana was fooled by Blackwall. She emphasized that he wasn't what she expected. Totally agree with this and came here to post it. Not only does she say that bit, but it's heavily suggested during the whole jail thing that she knew all along; the Inquisitor can say as much as a dialogue option with Cullen. In addition, you can read into this the codex entry written by the real Blackwall, found in her area of Skyhold. Why is it there, of all places? Perhaps she was looking into this Warden Blackwall, and this letter constituted part of her evidence. She doesn't share it with the Inquisitor because, hey, he's on the down-low and is helping the Inquisition, which works toward her goals. As a Dorian-mancer, I've thought this about the romance quest. For those who don't know, this quest starts off by the player receiving a note from Leliana concerning Dorian. She observed him arguing with an Orlesian merchant, which roused her suspicions and she was concerned about Venatori activity -- Dorian is still not to be trusted, eh? After some investigating, she discovers there is nothing amiss and informs the Inquisitor of this, supposedly after observing the closeness between them. She checks it out first, rather than going to the Inquisitor immediately; her concern is for the Inquisition and the ultimate goal of defeating Corypheus, nothing else. However, it does bring to mind Blackwall and Josephine's flirtation. Considering how Leliana is with the Inquisitor who romances her, it's a wonder she didn't threaten to rip his balls off, or heck, just slyly warn her friend off him altogether. Just because he's a good fighter for the Inquisition doesn't mean she wants her friend romantically involved with him. Considering her fondness for actual Wardens, if it had been the real Blackwall, she likely would have been tickled at the prospect.

Maybe she knew it would not go anywhere because she had a sit down with him like she did with anyone who tries to romance Josephine. And unlike the Inquisitor, he'd be guilt ridden enough not to take it further than harmless courting.

Her agents actually stopped Josie's assassin. 🤔 LEliana never mentions even the slimmest awareness of the Dressed as the Inquisition Soldier Assassins attempting to murder Iron Bull. And she barely stopped Jose's assassins. What were they, 10 feet from Jose's desk? She is completely incapable of stopping infiltration. Barely saving Jose's life should have meant a fired spy master or at least the allowance for taking both Cullen and Leliana to task over it. But that leads me to my only major annoyance over the Adisors Role. If I can't fire them, they're not my underling advisors, they're my equal or supervisor. When Leliana kidnaps the son of that nun, I can politely disagree with the plan but I'm not allowed to stop it. AT ALL.

It will happen with a hardened Leliana after her personal mission. She'll arrange for a woman's nephew to be "escorted" back and held to convince her to concede to their demands.

Ah sorry, should have clarified. It has nothing to do with Josephine's personal mission but it does happen to a hardened Leliana after her encounter with that sister.
