One of the great advantages of having a giant database that holds (well, will hold at one point) just about every possible information regarding the MEAMP is that you can run statistics on it. So I thought I create a thread to share some of those little tidbits of information. Also, feel free to join in if you stumbled upon interesting things yourself or have a request. Anyway, since the game isn't out yet and the well of information is pretty dry still, we'll start with something simple. A small overview of rarity and type distribution for the weapons we currently know to be in the game.

Just one question, why is UR pie larger than Common? You want to say there is twice as much common things than URs?
Edit. Nevermind,didn't read carefully.

Nearly half the weapons are "Rare"

I didn't realise there were no SMGs in Andromeda. No Shuriken?! Pre-order cancelled, etc, etc.
Is this a sure thing or have Bioware just not deigned to show us any so far?

So, it's been a while since I posted anything here. Mostly due to the fact that I stopped playing this game a week in out of disappointment. Anyway, things are starting to look better now, so I'll probably return to playing in the near future. In the meantime, I thought I might as well use all the data collected for TheThirdRace's builder to do the first proper statistics posts. So let's get to it. For the first post in this little series, we'll have a look at the Assault Rifles. First up - the straight DPS values, both in burst as well as sustained (aka full reload cycles): I don't think anyone's surprised that the Avenger scores the lowest in both departments but more interesting are the outliers, mostly the Soned. Of course, you usually pay a price for outstanding performance in one field, so let's have a look on how the burst DPS relates to the accuracy of the weapons... ...and their weights: Putting all of that together (and adding the rarity for good measure), we get a reasonable overview of all the different assault rifles in the game. Legend: Size is related to the weight of the weapon and color to the rarity (Common - Bronze, Uncommon - Silver, Rare - Gold, UR - Red)Interestingly enough, there seem to be no surprises here as all tiers are pretty evenly represented. Of course the UR's are slightly favoured but not in any significant way. So much for the objective stuff, but as gamers we of course know that the only way to judge something is to reduce it to a single number. So that we shall do. Well, three actually, because we have to at least pretend that people might use these guns differently. So I came up with a weapon rating, based on several factors: Burst DPS (75%) and Sustained DPS (25%) are the base ingredients. Added to that is the ratio between the single shot damage and the burst DPS (weapons dealing higher damage per shot are slightly favored this way). All of this is scaled to some degree with the accuracy of the weapon. The strength of the scale depends on the range category we're looking at. There's close quarters where accuracy plays a minor role, mid-range where the impact of the accuracy is balanced and long range where its effect is most prominent. Long story short, here's the data: This concludes our little excursion into the realms of the assault rifles. Let me know what you think. P.S.: Next up will be the pistols. P.P.S: And a little bonus chart because I usually like to have these kinds of things for weapon comparisons in a game: Assault Rifles - Effectiveness over Range

Mid range and long range is defined as? As I said in the post - the difference is simply how the accuracy factors into the weapon rating. CQ means accuracy differences barely affect the rating while in long range an inaccurate weapon is majorly penalized for that.

It's interesting that ARs are both the most plentiful and worst weapon class..
