Well there are three reasons I always bring her in my quests. 1) She is Hawkes sister. 2) She is a mage, so I must keep her away from Templars. 3) She is very effective I hardly have to babysit her. This is the logical reason. Wants spoiler or not? Lol! That's okay. I rather find out as the game progresses.

I am so amused by your reasons for secret reasons. Do tell me who you're bringing! I'm gonna bring Bethany, Anders, and Varric. That should be an effective team, and if the Darkspawn in the Deep Roads are as easy as the ones I faced above ground. I should have no problem with the team. Before I go in I'll make a backup save. I fthings go wrong. I'll load that one and bring Aveline, Anders, and Varric. But for now Bethany, Anders, and Varric.

I haven't done this choice set before, was planning to do it the first time on the PT I'm doing now. I'm only half way through act 1 with my sarcastic male Hawke. Looking forward o your impression of the events in the Deep Roadsand just after. Ooo, so many memories of the feels.

My Hawke is kinda sarcastic when she wants to be. But it's usually towards scumbags and npc's with bad attitudes.

Oh, question.
I posted a bunch of suggestions and tips on every mission for Act 1, but I think they came after the fact (you'd done them already) or you missed that I'd written them?
Should I try to write something out tomorrow for you for Act 2?

I will read it asap. I will go back to your earlier posts now, and read your tips for the first act. I'll see if you have any tips for the "Deep Roads Expedition."

Sure you can post another one for act II. I will definitely read it, since I like to keep my companions happy. Sometimes I gain rivalry points with Aveline and I don't know why? So your tips would be very much appreciated. Also thank you for posting the tips for the first act.

Merril should be happy, based on end game choices I suspect you will make.

Isabela important, if you like her. Fenris also important. Varric easy. I like rivalry with Fenris and Carver, but you have Bethany. Aveline is easy, I always got some rivalry from her, because I'm not very good at lawful characters, and I don't use her so much (my Warrior usually Fenris), but always almost 100%. I found Merrill hard enough, despite that my Hawkes are pro-mage, but too easy to hurt her, and she likes to deal with demons for the knowledge. Not stupid or evil, she know, how to deal, but for example in the case of the "Forbidden Knowledge" quest if Hawke destroy the evil books, she give rivalry... True, I rarely take Merrill, my mage is Anders.

The thing is they're hard to keep alive. They both go down quickly. Since Fenris is a two hander, I've set him up like my Hawke. But I can't keep him alive while babysitting Hawke or Isabella. That's why I liked the Bethany/Anders/Merril/Varric combos, they can take care of themselves. I also bring Merrill along more. I'll make it Fenris, Isabella, and Merrill. Though I feel like I've leveled Merrill wrong by picking the wrong tree. Also which specialization should I pick for my two hander Hawke? Templar, Beserker, or Reaver? I played a Templar in DAO and had fun with it.

I played a Templar in DAO and had fun with it. I've never had much of a problem with Fenris falling down. I sometimes take control of Isabella entirely. Anders being around usually took care of things, but also a well crafted AI program. It's not abotu bringing them everywhere. That's actually a bad idea considering what Fenris will like, Merril will hate. Why all my suggestions/tips were like, "Bring these two, but leave this one behind." And I have not much clue myself on the class. Considering 50% of all battles will deal with demons and mages, Templar seems the most useful. From an RP perspective, it irks me, however. ^u^ This is my first time playing a Warrior ever in the DA series.

From an RP perspective, it irks me, however. ^u^ This is my first time playing a Warrior ever in the DA series. If you have another warrior, then no matter, Hawke what specced. I found berserker/reaver fun, but this was, what suited Reinhardt's imagined nature. He and Fenris worked good together, and if needed, I put Aveline with her shield... The Reaver a bit as Blood Mage. This is cognate. I liked to play as Blood Mage. ( Reavers are warriors who use blood magic to give themselves power. It is believed that like blood magic, humanity learned how to harness this ability through Demons. To become a Reaver one must traditionally drink the blood of a dragon in a ritual, similar to the Joining. Alternatively, wyvern blood may be used instead of a dragon's to achieve the same effect in the Reaver ritual.)

Tip One: After leveling up and choosing abilities, cycle through the AI Programs and select the one with the most abilities in the list. Then add the program line for potions and drag it up to #1. I usually set it as <25% health, use elfroot potion. This saves me so much time picking when things should turn on and off.

I ended up going with Reaver due to it's passive and healing through fighting options. I don't see a lot of gain to verserker after reviewing it.

Oh, another thing. Some people get caught up in upping the constitution. But all that does is increase health pool. Defense is increased by the cunning attribute- it's better to avoid the damage in the first place rather than be some sort of endless pool of blood. So, other than meeting basic constition requirements for warrior, or if you're a blood mage, pretty much avoid constitution upgrades.

Okay, I will use Isabella and Fenris more in act II. You never played a warrior before in DA? There usually my first introduction into the games. Once I know the game, then I play as a mage. For example: DAO it was Cousland then Amell. In DAI it was two handed warrior. Once I finish DA2 and set up the world state for it. I'll replay DAI as a mage. As for Isabella and Fenris. Yes, I need to setup their AI's, like I did for Bethany, AVeline, and Anders. That is why I don't have to constantly switch back and forth. Thank you for the suggestion for specialization. It does make sense if I am going to fight mostly mages and demons, and the Templar class in DAO was powerful imo.

Tip One: After leveling up and choosing abilities, cycle through the AI Programs and select the one with the most abilities in the list. Then add the program line for potions and drag it up to #1. I usually set it as <25% health, use elfroot potion. This saves me so much time picking when things should turn on and off. I forgot up setting up the AI for npc's to drink potions. I should also do the same with Lyrium. Thanks for the reminder.

Alternatively, wyvern blood may be used instead of a dragon's to achieve the same effect in the Reaver ritual.) I've played reaver in DAO and DAI, and although their powerful they go down fast if one is not observant of the character's health. Reaver does sound badass the way you describe it and it was badass in DAI. So now it's a toss up between reaver and templar.
