Halloooo! Were you there back in the days when people asked what is it that we find physically attractive about Turians in general? Call me a weirdo but I do find everything attractive about turians. Mandibles, sexy voice, eyes, hips, tattoo etc. just... everything. I don't mind if people don't get it, I think I just don't like "normal" stuff. Well all tastes are in nature ). . That discussion was fascinating, I think it was put best when someone said that Turians have exaggerated alpha male characteristics from the tapered waist, the height, the sharp cheekbones, the imperious body language that plays on the subconscious. Even the flange effect in the voice enhances the masculine quality. Since turians speak and think on a relatable human level, it's not hard to start seeing them as cosplaying humans.

Oh yes, that voice definitely won a lot of female gamers over!

Garrus is sexy as hell.
Bioware did an amazing job on the aliens of Mass Effect, they look unique enough to come off as convincing extraterrestrials and yet you can still find yourself attracted to them.
In fact, I really like how Humans are simply unique in Mass Effect in that they are unusually varied within their own species. It's a nice little way of explaining why the aliens look mostly the same within their own species.

Female aliens either wore clothing that covered their whole bodies or had boobs. The boobs on female aliens were especially... annoying... >.< (poor Irikah and Nyreen)

Oh there's no way Shep and Garrus could procreate. It'd be way too disturbing to consider the ramifications in attempting any genetic tampering for a cross species offspring. Adoption is so much simpler and needed far more with the amount of orphans left behind. I like your headcanon, it's a lot more cheerful than mine! Its mostly based on my real life viewpoints. I am not very fond of babies. They are too fragile, they poop a lot, they puke a lot, they cry a lot (their crying has bad timing) and they are stressful to take care of. Much better to skip all that and go to the children phase. I also prefer adoption even though I am a man since pregnancy is a chore to deal with. Dude, that's backwards...the crying/pooping baby phase is the easy part, lol. It's the toddler running around phase that is the devil. Haha I have a hard time imagining FemShep with small children, but I do like the adopting orphans idea. Shepard seems like the type that would just pick up an orphan somewhere and take them under her wing, maybe even an older child or teen. I mean, case in point, Grunt.

Male alpha characteritics ? not sure. I mean, I find the female turians very nice and feminine and they share a lot in commun points with the males, so they should be manly, if I follow what you're saying, and they are not. Also I disagree with the cosplaying humans thing~ Turians look different than us, especially the waist proportions. Cosplaying human is more the Asari IMO But I do agree for the voice. Oh Man, Those voices ......... Well I totally felt in love for turians the second I saw Nihlus so I'm not sure what attracted me in the first place, it's just a combo of awesome things that ate my soul and heart in 1 second

Yeah they do...not just their design, but just Turian culture in general. Like the Asari, even though they are mono gendered, have really exaggerated feminine traits and culture, etc. I think for me it was a combination of voice actor and personality, since I just really liked the character and thought he meshed well with Shepard.

As for the masculine qualities, I was thinking about the guys, not the female turians so that was poorly phrased on my part. Maybe I was reading too much into it. I figured that in an abstract sense male Turians faintly resemble human men with the broad shoulders and narrow waist compared to say, the elcor who are closer in resembling gorillas or elephants. Sometimes we like what we like and there's no deeper explanation.

A photo that always make me laugh : My Garrus POP hidding on my backpack... look like he's under cover to protect me XD So hey, fanarts \^o^/ always stressed to post personal stuff on forums but hey, we're all fans. I will just post 2 of them and spare you my other (romance) fanarts XD They are done with watercolors+color inks+paint Now I see the one below, I think it could have been better, I improved a lot at drawing turians since then (and BTW my avatar is another pic of mine) And this one with my Shepard ~ it took me a lot of time, I'm always happy to share it Hi Scarlett, never expected to run into you. Hi Scarlett, never expected to run into you. Dibol Hi You're from DA too right ? ^^ ahah I'm on very few communities on the net, this is now the only forum where I'm active ! BTW I need a moderators' opinion ( DragonRacer ? ) : I have the ME trilogy artbook and there are very nice concepts about Garrus inside. Not that much but always cool to see. Do you think I can scan them and share them here, I mean, it's not against the rules right ? I scaned some turians concepts from the artbook and posted them on the old BSN, I never get any warning for that so .... Better to ask !

Just gonna leave this here. Also, between Saren and Garrus, I'd be on Garrus. Look how Garrus handled Omega. Saren? Saren's a pussy who doesn't fight clean because he knows he can't handle it. Back in Revelations, Saren got the drop on the krogan mercenary Skarr but when Grissom suggested he pursue, Saren thought it would be insane for him to go 1 on 1 with him. Compare to Garrus' confrontation with Garm. Garm was an equal if not greater krogan battlemaster given his broken regeneration. Garm was still on the verge of being killed by Garrus when his crew showed up to save him. So let's sum up. Both confront krogan battlemasters. Saren uses the element of surprise and then tucks his tail between his legs like the bitch he is. Garrus battles an ≥ battlemaster and the krogan only survives because he Saren'd out of it. A one on one, equal fight between Garrus and Saren would never happen because Saren lacks one of what krogan have four of. But if it did, Garrus would own him.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Turians look like reptilian felines to me. The way their nose rides flat and high while the line down their lip gives them a catlike face. Their feet even suggest a paw like appearance. Quarians are the more birdlike race to me with their delicate, thin fingers and of course, the admittedly fitting description of "chicken legs" (though I find their form more aesthetically pleasing than our human tube meat form)

I think the female turians are especially feline, one of my friend told me Nyreen remind him of a panther in many ways. I do understand the bird things though : the crest on their head and the falcon eyes but I love the fact they mixed so many influences to give them a very unique look
