I have some freezing issues going on. Is there any type of mod known to cause this?
First, after arriving at Skyhold, IB wants to take you to observe the common soldiers. I've done this on numerous PTs with no problems at all. But this time, everything freezes the moment you see the PC in his/her mercenary armor disguise. It doesn't respond to my PC game controller. The only keyboard commands it responds to are alt-F4 which quits the program. I decided to skip IB for a while and went to the Exalted Plains. It was working normally, but as my PC and her team approached the Dalish camp, the controlled character would suddenly freeze mid motion. I can switch characters, but then that character (now the controlled character) will quickly have the same thing happen. It feels like I've been hit with a pitch grenade! Argghh!!! I've two other PTs in the last two months using similar mods with few problems. Any idea what might be going on here?
Edit: This is weird! The second problem mentioned really does have everything to do with the Dalish camp. If I move my people away from the camp, everything works normally. It's when you move toward the Dalish camp and are getting close that characters freeze mid-motion! A really weird Dalish curse? Ironically, my current PC is Dalish.

Okay, this one was easy to solve even if still surprising. Over the past several PTs, I've been adding different hair mods for my PCs. If more than one is enabled at the same time, issues will pop up. Disabling all but one fixed both problems above. It might've solved my white screen problems yesterday. Good to know what can cause a conflict.

you mean, different hair mods for the same hair style? That might be it. Apart from that, I have a lot of hair mods installed and it works fine. I have the white screen before Skyhold normally, when I have some body mods installed (I have the 'Seras body for human inquisitor' mod for example) and some armor/pj/outerwear retextures caused problems. I have to deinstall the mod, that allows human inquis to dress liek Sera before Skyhold. After the sword scene, I can reinstall it and all works fine

I'm now experimenting with the scenes right before going to skyhold and so far, I haven't found the culprit. The hair mods didn't cause the white screen before skyhold. I don't have body mods, but maybe the Raven armor? That'll be my next try. Edit: I disabled Raven armor and still the white screen. I'll have to troubleshoot some more.

Armor caused the white screen for me before. The raven armor works fine most of the time, but pre Skyhold is really tricky, when it comes to mods

Armor caused the white screen for me before. The raven armor works fine most of the time, but pre Skyhold is really tricky, when it comes to mods I disabled all clothing related mods, but still white screen. I'm going for Asymmetrical bob now. Edit: Up until this PT, I never had the white screen even when using mods. Edit 2: I finally found the culprit! Not the "SK Asymmetrical bob" file but the "SK realistic hair retex" file. I was able to keep the Raven armor after all!

Ok, I use the SK realistic hair texture too, it worked fine bofore I installed Trespasser though. So I guess it's the combination of SK hair retexture and Trespasser
BTW: I run into a tech problem myself, started Jaws of Hakkon and now my game freezes. I really hate it, that those instabile add ons are no fun with mods

I really hate it, that those instabile add ons are no fun with mods I'll never understand why mods that work with the vanilla game don't work with DLC. Oh well... As to the freezing problem in Jaws of Hakkon, try disabling all the hair mods that aren't being used on your current PC. Like I said, I go to the Exalted Plain and things start to freeze when I get close to the Dalish camp. I disable the unused hair mods - at least those not being used by my current PC - and everything is back to normal. I'd say disable everything that you are not currently using. If that doesn't fix the freeze issue, start disabling mods one at a time. That's what I did to find that the white screen was related to a hair retexture mod. Also, review what it says about your mods on Nexus. Some advertise being Trespasser compatible, etc.

Someone wrote that the skins used in JoH don't have to be the Trespasser friendly versions, but since it is different in everyones game, I'll try the safe route. Sadly DAI is very modder unfriendly. I wish, tehy would include a tool again like in DAO. Modding there was fun, you had some trail and error moments too, but all in all it was much harder to really break your game

It's amazing, people are still creating new mods for Origins! Did you do any modding yourself?

Nope, I didn't get into modding myself, but my best friend did (for other games, not DA) and therefore I know the amount of work, getting into it. I may try it one day, but I will start with DAo rather than DAI, seems safer There are still new mods out for Baldurs Gate 2 (I'm still playing it) and even some for Vampire:The Masquerade - Bloodlines, one of the buggiest and I think hardest to mod games
