With Mass Effect Andromeda releasing, the devs focus will turn to DLC and quality-of-life patches and fixes. It can be hard for BioWare to see what the 'fans' are interested in amongst the cacophony of different views. So this is a way of distilling a valid opinion. This is a multiplayer version of the the single-player thread: bsn.boards.net/thread/4892Ported here by request, using as inspiration, the ' Heal/Hate' game popularised on BSN by lightdrago3 Rules:- You copy the most recent 'list' into your own post, adjusting it as follows:
- You can add one new Patch suggestion (in 3 or 4 words).
- You can deduct 2 marks (-2) from any suggestion already listed.
- You can add, or deduct, (or one of each) 1 mark to two suggestions: (+1, +1 / +1, -1 / or -1, -1)
- Or, you can add 3 marks (+3) to one suggestion.
- You bold your changes.
- All new suggestions start with 10 points.
- If a suggestion falls to zero (0) it's removed from the list.
- A removed suggestion can be re-listed a second time, after that it's never coming back.
- There is no end-point as such but it will become clear over time which are the most favored suggestions.
- You can only post once per hour, that goes for votes as well as non-voting comments (to keep it focused).
- You can tag me (SofaJockey ) if things have added up wrong for a 'tidy-up' with that post not counting.
Other considerations:
- This is not for single-player, please keep that out of this thread.
- Be practical, suggest stuff BioWare can reasonably do in a Patch or DLC, so not 'add 1st person mode' or 'introduce PVP'.
- Be pleasant about it, the thread is intended to be read and to be helpful, snark will be mod-moved to another suitable thread.
Example:
Poster 1:
Move teammate icons to top bar unless player is downed - 10
Reduce visual distortion caused by rage - 10
Make ammo boxes more easily located. (Larger/brighter) - 10
Make countdown timer larger during objective waves - 10
Poster 2 doesn't like the Countdown Timer suggestion so down-votes it by 2 points:

Make countdown timer larger during objective waves - 8
Poster 3 is happy with Rage as it is and wants a larger Countdown, -1 and +1 for those.

Increase camera distance from character. I witnessed a lot of steams where players wouldn't notice some beast getting under them from behind and I've seen a couple of feedback just about that. FoV is probably not enough.

Minor thing: In your example, the numbers for the suggestions by "Poster 1" lack spaces. I was quite confused why any suggestion would start at -10 and a downnvote would increase that number.
edit: And why would Poster 3 remove a point from the Rage change suggestion if they're not happy with how Rage currently is?

* You can ignore this if it already works that way but I forgot to check yesterday and assume it doesn't (cause at the moment rarely anything in MEAMP does)
edit: Also I dropped the UI and lag suggestions cause they're way too general and don't get us anywhere.

It's just that a) Bioware is fully aware that the lag needs fixing and  telling them to "fix the UI" is too vague to actually prompt change. It's like saying "make your game better" - well, thanks, now we know exactly what you're having an issue with... But seeing how the thread goes, me removing those two things doesn't really make a difference because apparently 90% of the users on this forum are unable to even follow the most simple instructions anyway. I have to question why it starts at 10 and goes up by 3 per upvote. Seems like a system of starting at 0 and going up and down 1 is fine. Because you're supposed to either cast a -2 or +3 on a single item or a -1 and +1 on two items per vote. Those things are mutually exclusive which everybody happily ignores. Hence it doesn't seem to make any sense. |

'Fix the UI' remains off the list as impossibly vague.
Console FOV also off as performance hit on consoles doesn't allow it (dev confirmed)
For my go:
