Is it just me, or is the new Annihilation Field even more op?

So a friend and I had our 10 hours of MEAMP and now that our time is up I'd like to reflect.
Annihilation Field is ridiculous. This time it has no duration and is a toggle, primes through everything (which in ME3 was common, but in MEA rare), has a damn huge radius, and without detonating does decent damage. Seems like the best comp will be four Asari Adepts if possible (on release).
As an aside, I unlocked the Asari Duelist and she seems utterly lackluster. As best as I could figure out she could be built into a new N7 Slayer with infinite Lances and charging, but other then that seems mediocre. Her sword damage didn't seem too much higher then a normal biotic punch from the Human Vanguard, though she did have the ability to phase through walls. Backlash seems highly situational, and not worth investing points into.
