Not worried about how long it will take me, I spent 10 hours on one campaign and I got half way through Eos with that. I got a feeling the game will last me a looooong time.

Imagine, if they're this fast going through a Bioware game, how fast must they be at OTHER things...

Got to love all these "streamers" uploading all these videos and spoiling the game days before it's released just so they can get those views

That's my average pt of single trilogy game Maybe I meant 70-80 hours. That's usually the amount of time I take to play each game in the Original Trilogy now that I just checked. Combined I've got hundreds of hours in the games and thousands of saves accumulated over time. Hell I believe I've done EVERY single mission except for the blasted one with the Salarian Merchants on Omega that always bugs out so it can't be completed.

...if you shoot through the critical path and don't explore side content it takes only about 20 hours or so to complete Only 20 hours, for just the crit-path? I blew through Mass Effect 1 in like 8 hours one time for a laugh - and that was with tracking down Saleon, Tali's Geth, and Wrex's Armor. So 20 hours just on crit-path sounds fucking GREAT.

I like playing through the ME games quickly. It just adds replay value. I've completed the trilogy in less than 15 hours. Not hard to do. I've also completed everything that can be completed in each game. Not sure how long it took doing everything.
I've completed DAI in 10 hours on the ps3. Not sure how fast I can complete it on the ps4. Maybe one day I will.
With MEA, I will play through the game as quickly as possible, but that most likely won't happen until I've played the game a few times.

Some people got review copies early. Ban for videos post-Eos just lifted. Also, some channels, just plow through the main story ignoring dialogue and sidequests. When I did my EA Access, it took like an hour to explore the Tempest for the first time and talk to everyone. Another hour to explore the Nexus and talk to everyone. I was the same. I didn't get too far into the game because I was too busy exploring. So for me, when it does launch it will be almost from the beginning.

1) They want the clicks, it's all about who has the video out first in the Circus that is YT. 2) They are Mass Effecting wrong, obviously, if they blow through the story and don't take time to become ensconced in Volus velvet. 3) I can't wait for the Quarian ship DLC, complete with Volus trading post and other delicious Citadel-esque tidbits. "take time to become ensconced in Volus velvet" - my new favorite line in the history of the forums!! My opinion is that folks who blow through the game and don't red codexes, etc, are missing out on alot nuances and I would consider it a very incomplete playthough and their reviews as half-baked because of it. In DAI, for example, there were a couple of codexes with snippets about these weird dwarves in the deep roads that hinted they may eat darkspawn and do other secret thingss...really creepy codexes (can't remember what they were called). Then, lo and behold, and war table mission popped up where I had to deal with them. Having that background info really made it feel like stressful situation that I needed to handle delicately. One of the few instances where the war tables missions felt meaningful. Planet scanning and resource mining? Sure, skip it. BUT, I would also note that the tedious shard-hunting in DAI was actually useful to help you discover all the hidden secrets of each map. So...maybe resource mining will do the same in Andromeda? I'll find out soon!

I'm 100% on your page regarding taking the time to read codex entries, explore, read datapads and listen in on ambient conversations to get the full experience out of a game like Andromeda. If you just blow through the story and treat it like a Naughty Dog linear romp, I reckon you're missing what makes it Mass Effect. Linear romps definitely have their place though and I love them for it ( TLoU+Uncharted so much), but this is a RPG so when reviewers finish it in ~30 hours and then complain it's shallow...well, it's hard to take them serious for sure!

People just open the games from game stores when they ship. I used to work retail and it was a common issue. There is no easy way to track it unless the store manager is paying attention and often... it's the store managers doing it. In which case the regional managers need to pay attention and they never do.

But Bioware (EA?) is insisting on the hero structure we see over and over and over again, no matter how they try to subvert it, add depth to it, whatever. Hell, even ME3's 'high level writing', if Casey/etc was insistent, may have worked better if the whole game was more generous towards it instead of just towards/in the ending. I know this is hard to do in video games and especially video games expecting high returns. I just wish it wasn't so often only in the codex or stranger DLC.

It's great that tips are already appearing on youtube. Saves endless time searching for the one little thing you missed scanning to complete a mission. And for God's sake can someone please tell me how to zoom in on the map? That tiny little thing covered over with giant overlapping symbols is worthless. I'm sure it can be done, but trying to find that kind of thing in a Bioware game is impossible.

However, it doesn't save your zoom level. every time you close and then reopen the map, you have to rezoom.

I will guess in review copies, and as the progress was saved and carried to the final released game, they just continued the game from where they left on. In a frantic session, i guess.
