You're wrong, Cobras are designed to instantly kill any enemy. We have extensively tested them on bronze difficulty. Our highly trained team of sycophantic operators have told us that there are no issues with the game whatsoever, and that it is better in every conceivable way (in addition to a minimum of four inconceivable ways) than they could have ever hoped for. We trust their judgment.

We PC players would have shat on them for every little thing in addition to datamining their shit.

I raised hell about several things, only one of which had anything done about it at the end of the day, so... doesn't really matter. Console, PC, all you can do is point it out. When all is said and done, you can't actually affect jack diddly squat yourself, though.

At least the Ascendant has an animation for warping around, and gives a warning that he's starting a sync. This mf'er just walks around, then magically appears on top of you and bam - eaten. Lag-related probably, but still. And what's with cobras not always killing it. What the hell biower. um the ascendant teleports across the map and insta gibs, its happened so often now that Its almost a relief when the fiend grabs me mid charge and and I get gibbed by him on a side note I was wondering if anyone else has issues with the `¬¦ key or is it just me that hits it every few seconds during combat ? wish I could remap that puppy to the other side of the keyboard /

Yeah, the Fiend's sync kill is a little frustrating, particularly if there's a some lag. Still, not much worse than the Banshee in ME3MP.

Fiddling on bronze just now, on the ice base. The fiend was on the roof. I had a good view as it reached into thin air about six meters from where I was standing and BOOM I got munched. At no point were we any closer than that.
I do think it's worse than a banshee. Worse than a staggered phantom. Worse than a wall hack praymaxian. At least in terms of being glaringly busted. We should rename then Trolls.

My only complaint with the fiend is how quiet he is. I find all of the enemy audio and audio cues to be lackluster. At least with a hydra you can hear his mechanical movements from a decent ways away

The fiend sync kill is seriously BS. The problem is that you have no clue that is going to sync kill you, it could happen from every direction and distance, between walls and object and it's even worse if you're playing with a bad host. There's this constant fear that is going to kill you all of a sudden. For example, yesterday, i was playing FB glacier and i had just HS'd a Geth Hunter and was moving toward a device and BAHM!!, in a instant i was catapulted to andromeda and the fiend sync killed me!!! Totally unexpected!!!
Ok, maybe i've exaggerated, but only a bit.

I've only been sync killed twice by my own stupidity and the first couple of days I played the game. Now when I get sync killed, I think I'm a mile away, then he just appears right behind me, with no audible clue he's even there, and snaps me like a twig.
THAT is bullshit.
Example:
Wave 6/7 start
Me: There's the fiend...I'll let those guys deal with him on the other side of the map. I'll take out the Ascendant *plugs away behind cover at the orb* Me: Sweet, orb down, unload all hell! Game: Red arrow behind me Me: Stupid dog! *Turns* OH SHI...*CRUNCH* Me: WTF?
I use a pair of Sennheiser HD-650 headphones and a nice integrated amp...I can hear everything, except for that sumbitch sneaking up behind me.

Have not gotten caught by a fiend, the ascendant bubble boy has gotten me multiple times. He is a tricky bastard that one. The one that shocked me was when I was downed waiting for a rez or to use my med raise pack and he sucked my downed body into his bubble and sync'd me.

I don't always die, but when I do, it's because a Fiend grabbed me through the floor from the floor below and teleported me directly into his mouth.

Yeah, Fiend snyc kills are completely broken. Teleporting around the map silently, grabbing people well out of melee range instantly, through walls and ceilings. They have do something to fix it.
Been caught by an Acendant when I was in a bad spot with nowhere to dash to (like a small room), but there is no escaping Fiends. Worst one for me was when we were hacking, he teleported through three rooms and instantly killed me without being able to react. Thats when I decided I would never play the Kett again on Gold until they fix it.

ME3 sync kills outside Praetorian were pretty fair.
A banshee could not sync kill you if you stripped her shields and did enough damage, she'd stop levitating and would only melee until she was recharged and got back up (she would scream as a warning).
The phantom without a shield could be staggered so she could not sync kill you, so as a vanguard all you had to do was strip her shields with a reegar or nova and then charge her safely.
Atlas very, very rarely sync killed you. When you stripped its shields you could even stagger it with charge.
The real bullshit started with the Praetorians. When they were levitating, they would not sync kill you, but they could very quickly ground themselves and then proceed to sync kill you.
And the difference between Praetorian and Banshee is that the praetorian also had a ridiculously damaging beam from range, so it wasn't a monster you could simply range down like the banshee.
The Reegar shotgun was pretty popular because of this, with incendiary ammo and armor pen mod, it not only was godly for stripping shields, but could deal with armored opponents too and allow melee classes to engage boss units.
Except the praetorian.
Meanwhile, it seems like Mass Effect Andromeda did neither. Banshees could teleport through walls and grab you, but they had pretty loud sounds for when they were warping around, so you could take precautions and position away from walls/rooms. She would also scream before she started teleporting.
The fiend and ascendant are both super silent, and have no disables to their sync kills, making vanguard toolkits obsolete against them.
This only makes the class balance worse, as even more so than ME3, people are going to play Infiltrators even more as those are the only classes who can trivialize warping/teleporting boss mobs.

Rant over, let the fanbois flaming begin. If you end a post like that then you need to grow up I ended my rant post like that because of many years on many game forums a rant like that, would have easily got all the fanboys crawling out from under their rocks to flame me. But I got a pleasant surprise here. This happens to be a damn nice group of people. Most here dont seem to be silly fanboys and I think some actually agree with my rant on multiple points. Maybe you are a secret fanboy
