So for the life of me I cna't figure out what the Mesh setting does in graphics options... in Dragon Age Inquisition it had a clear quality impact on character hair, among a few other things... Here, I can't see any difference between low and high, at all (yes, I restarted the game each time to make sure the changes were taking effect). However, with it off I gain 20fps on average... on High my frame rate often tanks - especially on the Nexus (on high my fps will often sit at 10... on low it jumps to 40+ ... anywhere else in game it seems to have lesser performance changes.. but still noticeable).
I assumed it would change character quality, but I can't see the difference (Certainly not in dialogue / cutscenes anyway) or perhaps it changes quality of objects in the distance... but I just cant perceive the quality change but i sure as hell can feel the performance loss.
Anyone know what exactly Mesh setting governs?

Mesh is the physical shape of the model. A higher quality mesh can have more polygons to make lines less jagged and look rounder. It is something thay cannot be seen easily unless you know what to look for.

I may be misremebering, but I think the shiny hair is affected by the shader quality setting, which was originally bundled with the mesh quality setting until they changed that in a patch. It also used to affect the presence of scars.
