I played ME1 to ME3 again before jumping into ME:A.
I like the game though, despite some of its technical flaws.

Not disappointed in the slightest. However, I will be playing the OT again, after I've lost a good couple hundred hours of my life in Andromeda. I'll never NOT be playing the OT, regardless of what comes after it.

I'm replaying the old trilogy, but not because I'm disappointed in Andromeda.

I'm still at the very beginning of the game, but so far I'm liking it - I do not understand the people saying it "doesn't feel like Mass Effect", because to me it really does. I love the OT, but I have accepted that this is NOT Shepard's story and I'm embracing it to the fullest (I'm pretty happy knowing my Shepard is relaxing on a tropical island somewhere with Garrus). Does this mean that I'm happy with every change they did in MEA? Nope, but if developers never tried anything new our games would still be stuck in the 90's and we would probably never have got Mass Effect at all.

I replayed 1-3 right before ME:A's release.
That's how I knew these reviewers, especially that fackin' asshat at Rock Paper Shotblowme, were out of their minds about the dialogue. Having just played through the first three games I can state with absolute sincerity that the dialogue/writing in this game is no worse, if not no better, than the first three. People have been wearing rose-tinted glasses.
I've actually felt a pretty strong ME 1 vibe in my first 15 hours or so of Andromeda!

I will go back to it eventually but not because I am disappointed in MEA. So far I am not disappointed. It's definitely different from the trilogy but that isn't the same as disappointment. I can't judge MEA fully or fairly until I have finished a playthrough and I havn't finished yet.

MEA is not a bad game, but I miss a lot that ME was to me. Now I have a copy of DAI... just in space. I will finish MEA once or twice, but I already look forward to Shepard again. I'd take the Trilogy over MEA any day so far. Yeah, I'm usually not the person that doesn't even finish the game before judging and I really looked forward to MEA and was ready for a fresh start, but the magic I hoped to see is not that much present for me so far, sadly. On the plus side, I like all companions and the crew, that's a rare one

I'm loving ME:A. But even if I wasn't, I don't think I could do another trilogy playthrough. I've beat each game at least 5-6 times each. They were fun but I'm burned out.

I did a playthrough of MET right before starting Andromeda. And granted I finished it about a month before the game launched so I was stuck playing Amalur in the lead up...but I'm not dissapointed at all. The game is off to a much better start then either ME 1 or 2. The first two main quests in the game are just so friggin cool and I am just flat out addicted to the game. Its a shame too because I am forcing myself to not play it so I don't feed that addiction and can still focus on some of the real world things I want to do. But yeah its starting two quests is about on par with ME 3 which was a game that got off to a strong start...but then the ending happened. So we shall see in the end. But I am not dissapointed. And about all the comments about its 'weak writing' and 'slow start' are silly. This game is doing a lot of things better then the MET. But will it do enough things well to make a Tier 1 game? We shall see.

I played the Dragon Age games, and then the Mass Effect trilogy (still on 3, but that's okay because I'm still downloading MEA*) before-hand. Which I think was probably a good move for keeping my expectations real and limiting the rose-colored glasses effect.

I love all four games. Playing Andromeda for now. Then I dunno, I have Trespasser and ME:AMP before I consider replays of anything. By then new IP might be out, heh. A slow player here.

Yep. I am still looking forward to playing MEA in full, but after playing the trial I decided to wait a few months for patches to come out and the price to drop a bit. So in the mean time I'm doing another trilogy playthrough. I hadn't touched the games in about three years, so I'm enjoying re-discovering the lore details of the ME universe. Plus, as a PS3 player I only got to play the games in order once since initially ME2 came out before ME1. I have a lot of achievements left to get in in the first game.
It's really interesting to replay the trilogy with MEA in mind - I'm much more aware of issues with graphics and dialogue now! I'm surprised at all of the little things that I never noticed before.

I haven't played the trilogy is quote a while, so I'll be going back soon to scratch that itch. At the moment, while I can't say Andromeda met my expectations, it's still a fun game and I'm enjoying it.

After my 2nd playthrough of MEA I might return to my unfinished ME3 playthrough so I can finish off the trilogy run I started before MEA launched but at the same time it might be a good idea to give ME in general a break so I might play a DA game or jump into a TES game.

I had to go back and take a look and found the first mass effect was better in animation, immersion, conversation, story, main character, companions, combat(more intense), voice acting, music, sound and general close up graphics. The only thing I think MEA does better are the open world graphics.

No. Whatever criticisms I level at MEA, its story so far I find way more appealing than the MET's.

They're different.
Mass Effect 1 probably has the best feel to it, but it's clunky.
Mass Effect 2 just does everything right, but I kinda can't shake the feeling that the whole story in the game is what actually set us up for the aboslute mess of an ending in ME3. Too much time was spent dealing with a lesser threat, while not actually doing anything to move the story along against the Reapers.
Mass Effect 3 is actually a really good game, but the ending really stings.
Andromeda is a fresh start. It borrows a lot from Mass Effect 1. It kinda feels like what Mass Effect 1 probably should have been, but we're spoiled by that Mass Effect 2 goodness which kinda knocks the game down from its potential for godhood status. I'm excited for what comes next. I really am, but I can't help to think that the game feels less because of its attempt to revive ideas that really didn't work out in Mass Effect 1.
