I've had a new notification indicator for a few days now, telling me about "GLOBAL REMINDER] Why going to the next page refuses to go to the top. It's old news, but it's NEW news to newcomers. -- Yummy".
I've read it, looked at the thread, viewed my notification section, and nothing has stopped the notification alert from displaying. Also, from what I can tell, there's no way to delete that notification from my notifications section. Can't mark it as read, either. So, it's just persistently there, despite that I've already viewed and read it, and looked for a way to get rid of the notification alert.
Having a constant notification alert there for a notification that I've already seen makes the notification alert system pointless, because it's always indicating, and I won't know if anything new arrives, because I now expect it to always be on, in reference to old notifications. The alert ought to go away as soon as I view the notification. Otherwise, the alert doesn't stand for anything, but a broken notification system, to be ignored.

I'M SO GLAD IT'S WORKING AS INTENDED. [clear notification] should do the trick.
