I'll just drop this here, one of the best lifts in history. Eddie Hall is the first man who broke the magical 500kg (1102lbs) barrier in the deadlift. Considering the record last year was 465 and most people said 500kg is impossible thats a jump. Also a beautiful lift.

I have a boxing speed bag and heavy bag and a treadmill, but I find chasing around after my 2 year old grandson is better exercise than any of them(he's like a Duracell bunny only cuter and a lot more lovable).

Hmm ...
My sister often accuses me of acting like I'm two and ...
I've been compared to the Energizer bunny ...
Only less cute and a lot less lovable ...
So pretty sure I'm not your grandson.

I've been lifting pretty regularly since June. 'Gained 5 lbs since (conservative estimate, scale shows more but I fluctuate a bit). Here are my weak-sauce squats.... I used to squat more and was just a lot stronger in general years ago than now. I used to workout religiously in high-school because I was motivated by athletics (football and track). Now that I'm not an athlete, I don't have anywhere near the same enthusiasm for lifting. I find it boring/tedious, but what keeps me committed is how much better I feel when I'm in the habit than when I fall out of it (even though I'm healthy enough regardless). I'm putting an emphasis on lower-body exercises ("Leg Day") because that's easily my least impressive area. Now I hope to take the next step and get into better eating habits than I am in currently.

Considering the record last year was 465 and most people said 500kg is impossible thats a jump. Also a beautiful lift. That's fucking savage. I used to lift for power but I realized its not too healthy nor is it good for tone. Mind you, I'm no gymrat but I'm starting to get back into the flow. I'd much rather have my own small gym in the basement though.

Hmm, it seems that Bunz must have tried to bench press a ban hammer but came back down and smashed him? Or did he just delete his own account?
I'm a curious kitten :3

I used to lift for power but I realized its not too healthy nor is it good for tone. Its not unhealthy as long as you really concentrate on keeping good form. 1 repetition max weight lifts with poor form is what grinds discs and joints to dust.

Been focusing a lot on my weakest lift lately, the barbell squat. Improved a lot but as a dumb side effect I'm soon going to need to buy new set of trousers, lol. I've been lifting pretty regularly since June. 'Gained 5 lbs since (conservative estimate, scale shows more but I fluctuate a bit). Here are my weak-sauce squats.... Suggestion to improve squats: try to use a much wider stance (wider than shoulder width), push your knees out, your feet should be nearly at an 45° angle. (Watch the big toes). This vastly improves your ability to move bigger weights. Try it out, the difference will amaze you.

I lift, to build strength and bulk size. Have no interest in doing the body builder type of workouts. I prefer functional muscles and not pretty muscles. Plus I'm not going to do the strict diet. I like my Mexican food and pizza too much for that.

This vastly improves your ability to move bigger weights. Try it out, the difference will amaze you. I got this advice about 2 months ago from a random stranger at the gym who was super helpful. I asked him if he could spot my squad and he said I did good but I'd be doing even better if I used a wider stance and consciously pushed my knees outwards. I'm forever grateful tot his guy, because within no-time I managed to improve my squad by almost 50kg! I feel a lot more confident in my squad now, less scared about hurting my back or tumbling over. My posture is better, my balance is better and my stance is more stable. I asked this guy if he'd be okay if I approached him more often for spots and he said he'd be delighted to spot me and give me more advice. He said it fills his heart with joy that a newbie like me (I've been lifting for about 1 year so yeah I still classify as a newbie) has the guts to walk up to an experienced lifter for advice, he wished more newbies did that. Most newbies refuse to do this for some reason, probably because they're shy. Since then I always look for this same guy in the gym whenever I feel like I need a spot. This guy knows what he's doing and knows what he's talking about! And he's super helpful!

I see it all the time at my gym and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, it's much better than to be doing the exercises wrongly for years. Best to let an experienced person show you instead. You will only benefit from it And well done on improving your squat Heretic, that's pretty impressive

I lift everyday, tbh, brah. Or is it brahs? Now, it may not be the lifting of the fancy smancy weights that some of you use, but hundreds and hundreds of kilos of glorious stock! I load the truck, I unload the truck, sometimes twice a day. I move it from outside the shop to inside the shop. Hell, sometimes I move it around just for the fun of it because there is nothing better to do on a rainy day than build crate castles. Plus side, if anyone tries to storm my keep I've got plenty of ammunition in the form of fruit and vege to pelt them with. In conclusion, I'd waste all of y'all.

This guy knows what he's doing and knows what he's talking about! And he's super helpful! Yeah, finding an experienced lifting buddy right at the start can save you a lot of pain and frustration. Suggestion: next time you do bench presses ask if your shoulder angle looks good, many lifters flare their elbows out and this is know to cause damage to the shoulder joints. Its really hard to notice it yourself when you're busy pressing heavy ass weights. Just make sure you return the favor from time to time and spot his lifts when he needs a spotter, or buy him a beer. He won't ask you but you should offer your assistance anyway. Also for the pros you're gonna stay a newbie until you can bench 140kg, Squat 170-180 (high-bar) and overhead press (standing) at least 80kg. Time is not a factor, its the weight. Some stay newbies forever. I lift everyday, tbh, brah. Or is it brahs? I had been working out at a private gym in the summer but now am back at college. On the downside, university gyms tend to be pretty crowded. On the upside, better variety. Last week I did deadlifts for the first time in a while with a trap-bar. Definitely shocked more than a few muscles.

Just make sure, when using the wide stance to keep your knees pointed outwards all the time. If they ''collapse'' and point inwards when you do your lift you're putting a ton of stress on them. Be careful! Not as often as I should. WHATS HOLDING YOU BACK MAGGOT!?
