Hit the 5th palace and is the same tired and drawn out bullshit on steroids. I'm done. Persona 5 can go straight to hell. I'm trading this it in. First Persona game I will never finish. Maybe the kast I ever buy if this is the trash I can expect. "I gave up at what is generally agreed to be the worst arc in the game, am I cool" Can your post get any more edgy?

I got the Take Your Heart Edition but due to my schedule (and a miserable attempt at playing ME:A, which left me disenchanted and wanting to take a break from games for a bit) I didn't get to fire the game up until this past weekend. I'm still in the first castle, so I've barely scratched the surface, but I am enjoying the game so far. I don't recall 3 and 4 having as many story elements spliced in with the dungeons though, that would be my only gripe so far because I want to move forward in the dungeon but only get a few fights in and then it's back to the real world. It's probably due to me still being so early in the game. Does anyone else ever feel the need to go to a ramen shop after playing these games? Without fail, every time I play and see a character eating a bowl of ramen, I think "I could really go for some ramen right about now", but this never happens with any other game, anime or movie. Maybe it's from all the ramen bowl challenges from Persona 4. The tutorial phase takes about 5 hours! And yes I went out and got sushi after playing the game - twice!

Yea, I posted that to look cool. Or maybe I vented my real frustration on a game that failed to deliver even before that palace. Must really bother you when a long time SMT and Persona 5 fan doesn't fall omto the bandwagon for this game. Persona fans have certainly gotten more defensive the past 8 years...or maybe it's just P5 fans that can't handle anything but universal praise.

If you truly disliked the game you would have gave up before the third arc, put the game down and left it at that. The very fact you didn't even like Futaba arc despite it being a far better version of facing ones Shadow then the tripe that was YOU'RE NOT ME! from Persona 4 speaks volume and shows the game is not for you but you would have known this by Kanesherio arc so why continue to play a game you don't like?

Is it worth the $60? I am thinking about getting it, but I don't know if it will hold my interest like Persona 3.

Can't really give you an objective opinion as I've only recently started playing (while taking a break from Andromeda) but... if you can get through the first 5 hours of annoying hand holding (tutorial) it's not a bad game. Exact same formula as the previous two games. I think the setting of this game (Tokyo) is much more interesting than the little country town of Persona 4.

The tutorial isn't any longer than previous two games. Basically, Persona 5 is an amalgation of everything the series have learned and done right up until this point through its various re-releases and spin-offs like Q. Guns are bac from Persona 2, along with negotiation, the combat has all the advantages from Persona 4 with a lot more neat mechanics unlocked through confidants, dungeons are as richly detailed as the ones in Q but they remind me more of the ones from Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga. So, in other words they are actually dungeons now. There's a stronger emphasize on the plot over wacky laidback school events and hotsprings bollocks, the tone is dark much like Persona 3 and 2. If you liked 3 like I did then you will most likely like this game.

Ok, I think I'll get it. I never did play Persona 4, but I also know they are not related that much as well.

Is it worth the $60? I am thinking about getting it, but I don't know if it will hold my interest like Persona 3. I really enjoy it and felt it was worth the 60 dollars. Cons: It pushes you through the story more and the tutorial lasts a long time. I love the rest of it! I suggest watching gameplay videos before deciding to purchase if you're ambivalent. Or you could just buy it and if you don't like it, trade it in for a different game?

I prefer to buy everything digital. Disks are clutter in my eyes. Slowly making that transition myself. Just bought a 2 TB HDD. I buy disks if I want stuff cheaper or if I'm unsure about keeping the game. Like.... there was no way I was buying ME:A digitally. I traded in a game and got it used for 25 bucks. But yeah. I am no longer buying comic books for the same reason. I want to go digital with those. There's nothing worse than boxing and lifting a shit load of books everytime you have to move.

Man, those incubi have terrifying penises by the way. And I fought a large green penis monster that looked like it was frowning. Oh, Japan. lol I never really paid attention the incubi's anatomy while playing 3 and 4, probably because it was a smaller screen playing on portable, but seeing it on a 55 inch screen is kind of terrifying. I was hoping that while negotiating with it, one of the answers could be "Whoa there, can you put that thing away? You're going to take someone's eye out." Is it worth the $60? Due to a hectic work and home schedule I'm only a bit past the tutorial so I can't give too much input but I have been enjoying it. I didn't mind the tutorial but it did seem a bit longer than previous games to me. It may have just felt that way since I wanted to jump into exploring the castle more and getting to the after school activities. I also enjoy that this takes place in Tokyo. I traveled to Japan 2 years ago and spent a decent amount of time in Tokyo and this game really seems to capture the area nicely in my opinion. I wanted to go back before playing but now that I get to explore Shibuya Station in this game, I want to book another trip.

And when you recruit it, I think it says something like, "You'll never have a good night's sleep again!" Or something to that effect. I thought it only targeted females - Joker is male. Good to see the incubi is in that there gray area. Ahahaha

Damn, I really didn't pay attention to what it said when I recruited it. I'll have to focus next time I get one. It would be great if as it's knocked down on the ground and you trigger the negotiation sequence, a bear skin rug just magically appears underneath it as it coyly smiles at Joker and makes really suggestive comments.

I don't know what it is, because I'm enjoying the gameplay and there's nothing that strikes me as being wrong with the game, but I'm having a hard time staying interested in this one. I don't know if it's the story or the characters just not connecting with me but I'm having a hard time spending more than half an hour at a time playing it, whereas the past games have always been completely addictive to me. Does anyone else ever feel the need to go to a ramen shop after playing these games? Without fail, every time I play and see a character eating a bowl of ramen, I think "I could really go for some ramen right about now", but this never happens with any other game, anime or movie. It's not just you, I ended up encouraging some friends to go for ramen last night specifically because the game got me thinking about it.

Ryuji's constant angst is getting on my tits a bit but man I love this game. I'd sit through 90 hours of Ryuji banging on vending machines and telling me he's pissed off for Ann though.
