Science, but I got paranoid immediately that the Kett would destroy it, so I made all the Quests on EOS asap. Yup, this lol. I was determined to immediately take down that Kett Fortress when I returned (even if the game didn't actually care).

I wonder how many people would get more enjoyment out of this game if they roleplayed. Yes, I felt the same. RP drove my decision for a science outpost but also to get Eos in top form so that it wasn't defenseless.

Yeah, I went military because of the Kett. I think if it had been a decision that came further down the road (past where we had Angaran interaction) I might have been more tempted to go for science (since I'd be thinking about the propaganda value of not looking quite so much like an invading force), but at that stage it was all about combat readiness.
It's too bad it didn't ultimately make much of a difference in-game though.

The Kett aren't going away any time soon,we are facing a small part of a much larger Empire that see's "improving" the other races as it's religious mandate,if anything after killing the Archon it will get even more hectic.

Well if the first outpost is supposed to be a statement about what you are all about in the Andromeda galaxy i'd go with military because im there to eradicate alien scum and take all their stuff

As far as I know, it makes no difference, and I doubt whether it will ever make a difference (for example with dlc). The worst way to give people choices is to do it in a way that it doesn't make much of a difference what you picked. I'm hoping someone can tell me I'm wrong, and that it does make a difference. Sorry to say but you are not wrong. In fact that VAST majority of choices you make, both in action and dialog have very little affect on the overall game.

That is the main reason why I don't think the 'Benefactor' is TIM, he would have never let them come along to begin with, of course that is a topic for another thread

Ostensibly, a military outpost on Prodromos will supply troops for the final battle on Meridian. But, y'know, there's not much difference between getting them and getting any of the other many, many allies you can have during that fight.
Actually, the whole Meridian battle is a good argument for this game being pretty decent at reactivity. One of the big complaints about the battle in London at the end of ME3 was that you never actually saw much of the various allies you gathered along the way. They clearly took that into account for Meridian. Your whole squad fights the Architect with you. Reyes or Sloane, Jaal's siblings, Kalinda, Annea, Vorn, the Prodromos militia, and AI-assisted angaran forces can all show up in the ground battle. Finishing the Family Secrets quest changes the space battle. Having all three of the other Pathfinders changes the Hyperion's last stand. Finishing Dissension in the Ranks gives you the option to take the Primus's deal or not.
And that's not taking into account all the other choices that show up in various places in the game, going all the way back to Ryder Senior taking account of whether you did enough exploring on Habitat 7.
The fact that there are a lot of choices that don't have obvious reactivity in this game shouldn't take away from the fact that there are loads of them that do. (Not to mention that, while reactivity is nice, there's a great deal of value in the simple act of role-playing the choice itself.) It's best to have a mix, isn't it? Who really wants to agonize over every single decision, regardless of how minor it appears to be? Wait how does finishing family secrets change anything in the meridian? I dont think I noitced that, but yeah otherwise a great summary!

Wait how does finishing family secrets change anything in the meridian? I dont think I noitced that, but yeah otherwise a great summary! "Figuring out the Scourge". During the space battle over Meridian, Ryder has a flashback to Alec in one of the last recovered memories saying "if you can't fight it, use it". The Tempest then uses the Scourge's attraction to Remnant technology to weave through the battlefield and shield them from the kett.

I never thought that happened only after completing the quest. It felt like a such pompous dramatic scene, no way did I think it wasnt just part of the story progress, thanks ha ha ;-]

Who really wants to agonize over every single decision, regardless of how minor it appears to be? But yeah, pretty much 90% of decisions you make have an impact on the final mission in this game and that's about it. I mean, it's nice that BioWare noted the complaint with ME3's lack of showing off individual forces, but I couldnt even tell who was who at times at the end, mostly due to them allocating about 30 seconds of voice lines to most factions, in quick succesion which all happens in-game and at the same, and it was really hard for me personally to identify whom was thanking me over the comms and what-not. I did really enjoy the Pathfinder combo though, that was badass and well-executed

I did really enjoy the Pathfinder combo though, that was badass and well-executed Subtitles help with that. The final battle already has so many cutscenes that I feel like giving everybody in Heleus their own spotlight above and beyond what they already have would make it nauseatingly long. Habitat 7: exploring the kett research facility and finding the hidden cave changes dialogue significantly; all rescued and/or dead crew are name-checked and can be found afterward in the Hyperion cryo bay
The surviving and/or new Pathfinders meet up on the Nexus before Meridian, and the various individuals present change dialogue depending on who they are and whether they are there (in addition, the whole meeting gives you a sense of the Initiative being bigger than just Ryder, which doesn't often come across)
Hayjer or Raeka will also participate in a sidequest focused on the salarian ark and the STG, with alternate dialogue
Making a choice between Reyes or Sloane on Kadara will ally either Collective or Outcast mooks to you in Kadara's open world
Annea will send goon squads after you on Elaaden if you don't take her bribe in Water Supply, and checks in via comm periodically
You can meet Vorn on the Nexus in Hydroponics talking shop with Dr. Camden after finishing Drack's loyalty mission
If you finish the evacuation sidequest on Eos and revive Grace Lito, she can be met at Prodromos later; if you do Liam's loyalty mission afterward, her voice will replace other colonists' for a few of the lines
Paradoxically, being good at gaining Evfra's trust - he likes some dialogue options better than others - skips a conversation segment where he lectures you about the Roekaar; when Jaal references those lines later, it can get confusing if you didn't hear them
Meeting Elora on Kadara before completing the H-047c mainquest From the Dust adds dialogue in the quest itself when you learn about her involvement; if you visit the wind farm again, she's gone, and her former companion Yuri informs you that her failure on H-047c meant that she fell afoul of the wrong people and got disappeared
You get a freakin' avalanche of emails from both randos and your crew about everything from quest resolutions to dialogue choices There's other stuff, too, but this is all I can get off the top of my head.
