First of all thats my first post here so I should introduce myself. -RPG fan in special the bioware ones since NWN(shame we dont have any more sequels of it on bioware account). -I'm brazilian and I'm still training my english so please be patient on any miss typing. - As a "newcomer" I will probally ressurect some topics on DAI section =p .
Bought DAI on preorder but barley played the MP as it wasnt nearly playable as it is today .So few weeks ago I decided to play it again and I found it as a joyful experience. Unfortunately I've joined the trip a bit late as it looks like as the recent launched MEA got most of DAI's players. As for myself im not a big fan of FPS games and I wont move to ME:A. I would like to know how many of you gone to MEA and who have plans to come back later.

Tough question, not sure anyone can answer at the moment. If you're new, you'll probably have an easier time finding players since you will be playing the more populated lower difficulties.

Yeah. Im fine with groups. Just curious to see people feelings about both in comparsion as the population really got smaller on last few weeks. Already found a couple of people who plays regular and we are on the road to start doing NM. \o/

I ducked out of DAMP a month or two before Andromeda, but that's where I am now. A couple of people on my friends list still play, and I've seen a few go back to it briefly, but most of them are in Andromeda for now.
Not sure if I'll go back, but I haven't salvaged everything and uninstalled it yet. That has to mean something.

I hope they will address the problems with the new player gating, poor loot access system, and the longevity potential of the DAIMP in DA4. It certainly will make a game more appealing to purchase. The sun has set on DAI:MP before I had a chance to try it, and it's one of my gripes with the game :)

I believe its "game over" for those who was playing it just because they wanted more of ME3 but had enough. In other hand I managed to find some to play with me with litte effort. Clearly it's not something that I will find someone to play anytime whenever I want to play ( at least not exaclty in the difficulty I want to) but it's doable. Just joined the boat 3 weeks ago and I'm having so much fun and progression.
I really hope ME:A to be a great success and a improvment from ME3 and DAI. I'm not a big ME series fan but its sucess will impact the next DA in some way or another. Lets hope for the best!
PS.: Something cool about DAI:MP is that its fully F2P .

For me it's not the backdrop, it's that DAI:MP is too similar to dungeons in other games, with all the ugly consequences when you pug, while ME is the horde mode which is far more fun as a pug, and It has a fair loot distribution without it being dependent on other players. Also, no crafting. That alone makes Me:mp an immediate winner for me.

I do as well.
Still I will play through MEA at least once. I think I am about 1/2 done. I have not tried multiplayer yet but I might soon. I still have some personal goals to get done in DAIMP.

It feels like the devs managed a pretty good balance between classes (for the sake of argument, I'll ignore the Silent Sister and Saarebas for now) and worked many of the more annoying bugs out of DAIMP. The prevailing sentiment I've heard from MEAMP is unbalanced and... boring.
So I think unless Bioware addresses those issues comprehensively, we'll see folks come back slowly. DAIMP is still a trip, especially the second time around! I wear my 10/10/10 stats and no HOK as a badge of honour. 😉
Besides, like others, the fantasy element is preferable to me than the shoot'em up sci fi. I'm guessing there are probably better shooters out there than MEAMP.

But in the end as most RPGs and mmos is all about dungeon crawling and grinding gear and power. For more immersive experience I had enough on SP. In other hand I really hope for some improvment on next generation( and hope it comes soon enough), some more content would be great . ME:A started to make me worried as most comments I read says its not so different from ME3 just a technology update.

I dislike the dungeons with the boss mechanics and role distributions, because they are so scripted, and, well, people are really not nice and can't take dungeons in video-games without turning into someone I don't want to associate with. I also really dislike the dungeon-style gear distribution, when you rely on other people to get your reward. I like it that in ME everyone gets a fair cut of the completed horde mode. I've played MEA:MP for a few hours, and I like it. DAI:MP, as I said, I di dnot even try because I do not like the sound of it. I actually hope that DA4:MP will be just like ME:MP only with the fantasy coat of paint over it. So, I can just pug it and play it, without worrying about people swearing, kicking out, rushing, not opening the doors, not sharing the loot, etc. If not, then that's all the more reasons to wait a year to buy DA4 on sale with the DLCs.

My barrier only goes down when we lack of targets or some rogue dispels me, but nothing like a fade step or a spell mantle cant handle. Including it, those 3 are the only ones I can go NM and contribue nicely(without just leeching) right now. I believe thats critical too. Katari looks like should be the bruiser guy and it started like it for me but now that my gear improved I cant just hit hard or survive as I do as reaver or frost Avvar.

Not saying its bad but when a new chapter comes you hope for something new to show up. About the loot and gear, you have loot for finishing the map and loot behind walls that only a specific class can open it. When a chest is opened everyone gets something no matter if was you or someone else that opened it. Its individual and cant be traded or seen. About the roles is half as you said.Incombat the roles are that clear only on the begining. The roles relys on the type of gear and build you use. Most of agents can be built to a solo , tanking, damage, or supporting way. Or you can take a templar that should be a tank and make it a kill machine with its combo. Most PUGs i find people are on solo role so everyone can be somehow independant . Something you may find a problem( I believe its what you was talking about) is that you're forced to stay near someone all the time. Not that is your need to doit but there is only one way or the small detour you may take will lead you to your party very soon. That mindset of a fast game I dont think is that good to have on a fantasy rpg game. The pure combat is not that fun and appealing as they are on shooter games. So we need a bit of individual progress conected to teamwork to overcome a greater challenge. In the end we are playing a MP game, right? And to be honest i wouldnt bother to play DAIMP if it was only playerskill.

I love playing MP on my weeknights when I only have an hour or two, so the Andromeda set up is perfect. It is actually different from ME3:MP. It is more compressed format, and has more verticality. So it is a harder hit of adrenaline. I can go through more matches in my play session than with ME3MP.
It is an MP, but I like fast pugs, playing with others following a few essential rules, but not building up a team.
I am not interested in anything too hard, too long or anything that can trigger bad behavior in other players. I am really concerned that the kick-out option is now being reportedly abused in ME:A, luckily on Gold only so far.
Easy, fast successful runs with complete strangers is what I am after. If it gets me a few laughs because peeps are social, I am happy. But I'd rather nobody ever says a single word & we wipe, than someone swears or whines, or acts up by pulling, getting team-mates killed on purpose or skipping loot on purpose or rushing forward to punish the rest, etc and we finish a tough run.
All and all, I have had my fill of dungeons, and I have had my fill of PvP, and the Horde Mode with objectives imo merges the best aspects of the both and allows me to anonymously sneak in and play a little here and there without triggering a rage fit from anyone.
I need the coops to be a safe place first and foremost to enjoy it.

I'll probably finish my hardcore/insanity run and then return to DAI:MP.

100% I will be back! I need to grab the crescent!
I still have not finished one MEA playthrough yet. I think I am like 80% done. Despite the issues, I am enjoying it, excluding some of the run and grab quests. I figure I will finish one go, then try the multiplayer to see if I like it. I most likely won't, or at least not as much as I enjoyed DAIMP.
I am wondering how many people will be left when I finally make it back.

20 days later and I'm seeing more DAIMP forum activity and more people declaring that they are coming back or that they came back but less PUGs to be seen alive. You guys likes to play on private sections or you're attractting all random players to your groups ? =p

It's always been tough finding pugs when this game seems more restrictive with its region lock. Most of us found players either by the sign-up sheet or just seeing the same player names and friend requesting them. That sort of networking takes some time and I don't see this game going anytime soon... yes?... no?... maybe... i dunno... I admit I haven't played for a couple weeks now
