I didn't see any teleport spell book on anybody though, even Gratiana who doesn't sell anything btw. Hopefully, I'll run into it later. Party is going to Driftwood soon. You sure you're clicking on the barter button off to the side of the conversation screen and not looking for a dialogue option like Hilde has?

You sure you're clicking on the barter button off to the side of the conversation screen and not looking for a dialogue option like Hilde has? She keeps saying; do quest, thank you. There's no, can I trade with you line. I tried everyone on her. Then after I did the quest. It's thank you only. No trade option. The opening conversation goes like; oh I can't do anything, we're missing ABC. After I told her about ABC, oh good, can you do something (something like that). Yadda yadda yak yak. I checked through every line. This is something that happens with the doctor. Dr Hilde. After I gave her what she needed, she says; thank you. No trade. She does open trade with the other members of the party but not the main char. This is wacky. Same thing with the elf combing the beach. After the initial conversation and trade, he will no longer trade with the main char. Oh wait, you're saying there is a barter button? It's not in the conversation? P.S. Luckily, I have not left for Driftwood yet so I just load an early save before the fight. I got the spell. ruggly , thanks. I didn't realise there's a barter button to click. The next fight on the Vengeance went off well because I threw Lohse lots of aoe spells. Ifan also got in his share so the mobs were flatten a bit faster. In the previous two attempts, I had Sebille brushed Fane off on the ship. I decided to go the other way and went ... um...wut? Fane, you're kidding right? wut? wut?

Half of the NPC's can be bartered with. At the dialog box, look for the red button at the top left of this box and it will take you to the shop screen. Most of them have a bit of gold and a few fruits, some are shops, and I believe there should be a couple NPCs that hold a single very valuable item, but I've yet to run into those.

ApocAlypsE , thanks. ** I tried a different way for the bock bock quest. How? By substituting another roundy from another bock bock near the tavern. No go however so I decided to destroy it instead. I walked away with 5k xp. I don't mind. The details in this game are very good; game world and chars. You can zoom in and see the armor, features on each toon. I have to say the design (armor and body features) for the elf is excellent. She really looks different from the rest. Outstanding, can't say the same for DA unfortunately. In the earlier attempted PT, her armor was all leafy and feathery. I like that one but loot is pretty random. I didn't get it this time. I just noticed she's bare footed even though she has boots on. Elves.

10/10 says Gamespot. interesting. I love the game, it's the best game I played in the last year or two, but 10/10 is an exaggeration.
The insistence of elements of the gaming media to use a rating system that doesn't mean anything, is rather annoying to me.
Hint: 10/10 should be a PERFECT game, and while highly enjoyable overall, the game does have the occasional issue.
Gamespot has only given a 10/10 to 14 games since 1998...they don't do it often. edit: Saying that, there is clearly a shift to higher score since past 2010 with them.

The artwork looks really attractive though... sorry, just thinking out loud. I believe I may have similar preferences as you do (love making my own character, enjoys relationship building, isn't too excited about exploration, highly values story and characters) and I really loved the first game. It is not similar to Dragon Age in feel, quite the opposite - the only thing they had in common was the humor that was often present. You are not as "close" to your characters in Divinity as you are in DA, and yet Divinity is the only non-Bioware game where I've actually managed to create a character that felt like she was mine and had a defined personality. Divinity, unlike DA, allows you more freedom to create your character through action (mine was, among other things, an amoral kleptomaniac that "borrowed" anything she could get her hands on... literally). The characters you meet along the way aren't as interesting as the ones you meet in Bioware games, but they do have interesting backstories and usually offers good conversations. The story? In the first game it was certainly not its strong suit, but everything else made up for it. There is quite a bit of exploration, but I never found it to be a chore, and the strategic combat in between only made it fun (if you like that kind of thing at least). If you are unsure about this game I recommend that you try the first Divinity, it should be cheaper. Also, if you have friends you like to play with this game gets even better!

Oh I like it that things can be sent back to the ship without my having to travel back there. Imagine kicking stuff back to Skyhold for later consideration without having to port back there. Sebille makes a nice looking lizard albeit a very tall one. ssss hissss..ss I left one nasty woman petrified after talking to her initially. I reloaded and then snitched what she wanted right before her eyes. Ta ta.

10/10 says Gamespot. interesting. Have yet to watch the video, but I'd give the game a solid 9/10. There are a few things that irk me, such as the AI feeling like it's cheating in ways to make the game more difficult.

I think I will wait till the second one is cheap, over Christmas or next summer, something like that. The game is really highly praised, and I don't want coop, so it does not matter when I get it, plus it will get patched and might get a DLC maybe like Turanny did. I certainly like the idea of the humorous approach and the artwork.

Found this during Fane's personal quest (Blackpits): Eye of Magnus, anyone? Okay, it's a forcefield and not a solid sphere, but the colour, the markings and the setting in an excavation site reminded me a lot of Skyrim.

Since people have played a lot of the game now figured I'd ask again.
Do the romances in Divinity: Original Sin 2 have non-sexual routes, or do you have to have sex or the romance ends?

The two romances I've tried both end with sex. But I'm going to quote
because it's just a small aspect of it all.

Since people have played a lot of the game now figured I'd ask again. Do the romances in Divinity: Original Sin 2 have non-sexual routes, or do you have to have sex or the romance ends? Romances are not exactly a focus of this game (to say the least), if that's your parameter for buying the game you will likely be disappointed, it's a minor aspect and it's not present for most of the game.
As for how they end? The one I played ended with sex. I think I saw an option to reject it, but I didn't choose it, so I can't say anything in regards to the implications. (I don't think it will end the romance *shrug*)
It's not. I was just asking so if/when I get the game I know. Most of my other questions have been answered but that was a thing I was still curious about. Thank you for answering.

While I playing the first game it really gave me a BG2 vibe. You spend most of the game in the first town you get to, meet some key characters, try to figure out what's going on, and once you solve the initial reason you're there, move on to the larger picture. The other areas are smaller in scope with a more specific task to accomplish than "find out what happened to so-and-so." The combat was the problem for me since it took forever and I didn't really know what I doing with regard to how to spec properly (hint: specialize, don't generalize). I know that @carefull doesn't like crafting much but I had a blast crafting mostly food supplies and potions. Spells and spellbooks too. Only toward the end game did I start doing anything with weapons.
Question to those playing 2: Is rock/paper/scissors still a thing?

Did patch 3.0.143.324 (from 3-4 days ago) cause this problem? I had no difficulties back then, very stange. Don't you use their client, GOG Galaxy (not sure how patching works without it)? Regarding the crafting in DOS: 1/2, I think it has greatly improved. If I remember correctly, the crafting menu was dependent on the current character, so you had to have all the ingredients in the right person's inventory. DOS:2 has a shared inventory for all party members and crafting as a skill is gone (good riddance), but I still find the menu a bit cumbersome, especially if you sort your stuff into pouches and backpacks. Those can still only be opened by the character who actually carries them, though they show up in the pooled crafting menu regardless. Also the pouches themselves lack an auto-sorting function, so if you accidentally put piece of leather into the pouch with your alchemy stuff, good luck finding it again amidst all the plants and mushrooms. That's why I barely use crafting in the game, no problem on normal dificulty, but for higher difficulties it would cause trouble. Part of the problem surely is that I compulsively take everything I can find, no matter if I really need it. There was a mod for Skyrim that connected certain labeled containers to the crafting stations. Combined with an auto-sorting system you could just dump all your stuff into one chest, everything showed up in the according containers sorted by type and all the items were treated as if you carried them in your inventory, so you didn't need to retrieve them first. Now that would be a simple and useful crafting system, but I doubt it's going to happen with DOS.

Don't you use their client, GOG Galaxy (not sure how patching works without it)? Nah it's nothing to do with the patches themselves and everything to do with how GOG offers updates (when you're not on Galaxy.) It's always been the case that GOG will offer the latest patch in the download folder, but only the latest patch, and that patch will update the game only from the previous patched state. However, if you've missed an update the patch won't work because it's only the very latest patch. It wasn't an issue in the past because GOG mainly dealt with old games that were a few hundred megabytes in size that are almost never updated, but it is a problem with newer games that are patched sometimes twice a day and are 20 GBs in size. It's not just Divinity OS2, it's any game - www.gog.com/forum/darkest_dungeon/missed_a_patch_do_i_have_to_reinstallThat's of course when GOG DOES offer a patch, there are times when no patch will be released at all meaning people are forced to download a new install. IIRC (and my memory is a little dodgy) Divinity OS1 had this problem - www.gog.com/wishlist/site/always_offer_patches_stop_forcing_us_to_download_the_whole_game_repeatedly
