See my avatar.
Gwenpool, Gwen Poole is definitely one of my favorites at this moment even if shes' newcomer to my favorite list. I like anti-heroes, grey morality characters and characters that are fun and she's all that.

Incredibly hard for me to pick between and But I've ultimately gotta go with Negan. Clearly, I have an unhealthy infatuation with violent men who are morally dark fucking gray with utterly irreverent, sophomoric humor and a penchant for cursing roughly every other word.

In the loosest sense. And I only say that because of recent comic events in which his arc seems to be moving a hair closer to "not totally evil" (which could always change/remains to be seen). Not trying to imply the murders he's done don't peg him as morally reprehensible overall.

Not trying to imply the murders he's done don't peg him as morally reprehensible overall. I don't follow the show or the comics, so I'll take your word for it. Most of what I know comes from internet spoilers and trailers.
He's most definitely an antagonist and not a good person overall. But he's not entirely a monster either. He's an incredibly fallen man doing, at times, horrific things with the belief that it will ultimately be for a greater good that saves more lives in the end. Partly out of wanting to save humanity from the zombie apocalypse, and largely to feed his own gigantic ego. He'll murder a random member of someone's group to show his dick's bigger/in retaliation for the deaths of his own men by said group, then turn around and save several women from rape. He's... an odd duck. Who may or may not be on a "redemptive" arc in the comic currently... or playing an incredibly long and manipulative con game in the end. With Negan, you never quite know for certain. He's kind of meant to be the opposite side of the coin from Rick Grimes when it comes to leaders. Like what the "Ricktatorship" could have turned into had Rick not had friends/family around to ground him along the way.

Superman. Because I like the idea of a "pure" hero, not the endless parade we seem to get of heroes with dark sides, or deep inner conflicts. I don't know about him being so pure really. His powers don't allow him to take time off in good conscience. He can easily hear everything that goes on in Metropolis if not the world yet for the most part he chooses to ignore it unless it's his loved ones in danger or a truly large scale cataclysmic event. What i mean is that he's not stopping guys from beating their wives, women from being raped, child molestation, murder etc. He hears it yet does nothing.

What i mean is that he's not stopping guys from beating their wives, women from being raped, child molestation, murder etc. He hears it yet does nothing. I hear your concerns, and I've actually given this some thought and come up with a headcanon that works for me. Scratch murder, and look at the other three acts you mention - the people who commit those sorts of crimes are - at their core - bullies. What is the defining characteristic of a bully? Cowardice. If you knew Superman would hear the screams/cries of your victim, and you were a coward...would you still do it? I know I wouldn't. Meaning Superman is the nuclear deterrent of crimes of physical violence against the vulnerable. That, of course, is just my headcanon but I'm sticking to it As for murder and bank robberies and stuff, well - murders often wouldn't make any noise until the gun goes off (or whatever was used) and he does stop robberies etc. Unless you're talking specifically and solely about the Henry Cavil/Man of Steel Superman, in which case...I'd agree with you. I, however, wasn't.

That's hard to answer there are so many good characters to choose from. I'll go with recent books: Caenis- Blood Song by Anthony Ryan Jorge Ancrath - Broken Empire series by Mark Lawrence Arlen Bales - Warded Man by Peter V. Brett Series TV: Colonel Jack O'Neill - Stargate SG1 because how can you not love his humor. And of course Fenris. I hear you on Jack O'Neil, (though Dr Jackson was my favorite), O'Neil was pretty awesome too!

I hear you on Jack O'Neil, (though Dr Jackson was my favorite), O'Neil was pretty awesome too! Michael Shanks as Daniel was great too! Always made me laugh when Teal'c said in a serious tone: "I do not know Daniel Jackson". I know! The episode when Teal'c was infected by those giant alien mosquitos and gets saved by that girl. The final scene was great, he sprayed Danield with the water gun and the look on Daniel's face! ROFL I LOVED that one! The entire cast was great! I loved that show so much. So many good episodes and the there was such good chemistry there.

The day repeating itself was classic too. Teal'c and that door that kept hitting him..hee hee. And I agree, the team was so well put together and perfectly cast. It still saddens me that Don S. Davis (Hammond)passed away, he did such a good job, and I liked Teryl Rothery too...damn, I liked them all. It was just a well done show all the way around.

Ah, SG1. Such a great show, but it lost its momentum in the later seasons. As much as I loved seeing Claudia Black and Ben Browder in the same show once again (Farscape is my favorite show of all time), it just wasn't enough to keep me interested at that point.
Fuck, that reminds me. I forgot to include John Crichton and Harvey (the neural clone of Scorpius) in my list of favorite characters.

If we're talking about books then I'd go with either Raistlin Majere or Kaladin Stormblessed from the Stormlight Archive Raistlin for me up until I hit about 23-24, started drinking/partying, and realized that women found me attractive. Kaladin/Bridge Four is another good choice, but if I was picking from Stormlight I prefer Dalinar's internal struggle over Kaladin's more flashy story. *** Also I am oddly pleased to see just how many people have found it difficult (and in same cases completely ignored ) the real part of the question. Picking one character. Hard isn't it?
